Breathtaking! The way to see the Big Island
Maui - Kahului

We did the two-hour helicopter tour with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters on the Big island. Pay extra for the Eco-Star helicopter. Very comfortable and big windows, so you can see everything. This is the ONLY way to see the volcanoes, lava, and hot lava cascading down into the ocean, with steam rising up. You get fabulous views of the magnificent waterfalls along the coast. Our pilot was very knowledgable about the whole island and gave us very interesting information about what we were seeing. The next day, we drove to Kilauea; and all we saw were clouds and rain -- nothing like what we saw from the helicopter. This trip is worth every penny.

A must do experience with Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tours
Maui - Kahului

The staff bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. They were so friendly and helpful and professional. We had a wonderful experienced pilot who made us feel so comfortable. It was a wonderful flight over beautiful Molokaii. Have only good things to say about Blue Hawaiian and their staff and our great pilot Emery. Would do it again and request our same pilot.

Best money spent amazing pilot
Maui - Kahului

We went on the full eco star tour of maui today and it was amazing with pilot Tim. He was super knowledable. He made certain we were all very comfortable so we could enjoy every minute of the tour. He took time to make the tour our best experience in maui. we had some very fearful fliers who got off the tour saying it was the best thing they have ever done. Tim is the best go on this tour and ask for him!

Awesome
Maui - Kahului

This was a trip my sister and I was dying to try. It was our first time. Not sure of what company to choose. The price shocked me at first $560 per person! But the sight, beauty and safety was priceless. Jason our pilot was awesome.

Best activity I did on Vacation!
Maui - Kahului

Everything went great, from check in to check out! The staff at Maui is on it! Very personalble folks that greeted us and loaded us into the helicopter. Then the Pilot was icing on the cake. He was full of facts and funny comments. His music really enhanced the entire experience. We saw the old Volcano and the waterfalls by hana. If you are looking for a smooth ride and quality tour, i suggest you go with these folks. They made our vacation memories that will last forever. Thanks Blue! See you next year on the Big Island.

First class tour
Maui - Kahului

We took the West Maui & Molokai tour at 11 AM on a day in early February 2012. The weather was great this day and the tour was breathtaking. Our pilot, Anna, was engaging and knowledgeable. The flight, on an Eco-star helicopter, was smooth. I was able to get great pictures despite sitting in a middle seat. - They will tell you to wear dark clothing to minimize reflections on the inside of the windows. Please do this even if you aren't planning to take pictures because it definitely helps those of us who do take pictures. - You can't carry anything but cameras on the flight, but they have a group locker where you can keep anything else. I felt secure leaving my stuff with the ground crew. The parking lot seems very safe, too. - You will be weighed but no one will announce your weight! - You don't get to pick your seat -- it is chosen to balance the load in the helicopter. However, even the middle seats in the Eco-star are good, and they are probably better if you have a long telephoto lens on your camera -- gives you more room to maneuver the camera. - Everything about this experience is professional. - Plan on waiting awhile after the flight if you want to purchase the DVD of your flight. It took over 30 min for us to get the third of three DVDs made for our flight. - At the time of day in the season of our flight, the waterfalls on Molokai were in the shade. An experienced photographer will know how to deal with that but if you are not one, your pictures will be better if you are prepared to change the exposure on your camera to slightly overexpose these shots.

Greg was our pilot and could not have been better. Very knowledgeable and made you feel very safe. The tour was great and something that you will never see anyplace else. A bit expensive but worth it.

Highlight of our trip!
Maui - Kahului

We chose the Molokai/West Maui tour and it was amazing!! Neither my husband or myself had ever been in a helicopter and I was a little nervous. We made our reservations online and I requested the first row, which we did get and it made a huge difference. Our pilot was an amazing tour guide and made us feel completely at ease. The sights were so beautiful and breathtaking, especially the sea cliffs. This was by far our favorite experience on Maui!

Well worth the money!!!
Maui - Kahului

Our family went last week on a fantastic trip with Blue Hawaiian Helocopters. Glenda was our pilot and she really was amazing. We saw the island like I never had before. Taking this trip helped us see parts of Maui that would take days to hike and enjoy. Glenda was an incredible pilot that explained what we were viewing and gave some history on the island. There was nothing scary about this flight and it is worth every penny. Flying above the whales really was incredible. It was amazing to see the real size of these beautiful creatures. We took the Maui Spectacular on the Eco Star copter. The copter landed halfway through the trip and we had champagne overlooking the coast. Then we went on to see the volcano and the waterfalls in Hana. Definitely buy the dvd of the trip after the flight. It is only $25 and it has all the narration of the flight and questions that were asked during the trip. It is really great to show everyone the trip you took and it explains itself. This was my 1st helocopter trip on Maui and it won't be my last. Thank you Glenda, Kris, and Mary for taking such good care of us.

Very cool way to get to Hana
Maui - Kahului

We took the Hana Sky Trek tour listed through Temptation Tours. One leg to/from Hana is in a helicopter and then other is via "limo van" which is a conversion van with nice, cushy, captain's chairs. If you don't want to drive that treacherous road and are not afraid of flying in a helicopter then this is the most efficient way to do The Road to Hana. If you want to take your time and stop and do the numerous hikes that are available from this road then do NOT do this tour. You only make about 4-5 stops and only get to "hike" to one waterfall that has a pool that you can swim in if you choose. It is a bit chilly as you are up in elevation. We had a "gourmet" lunch at a state park that had a black sand beach. Food was only luke warm and without much flavor really. The chicken and the corn were the best (and the pineapple!), but the mahi and the brownie were marginal at best. We made a couple of great stops at sea level and watched some of the large surf and got many great pictures. There were a couple of quick stops to take a quick picture of waterfalls that were able to be viewed from the road. We also stopped at a bamboo forest for about 5 minutes that we got to walk into. It was nice to be able to enjoy the views during the drive by having someone familiar with the road drive you down it, but I would rather have done it on my own schedule and stopped and hiked more, but that's just me. There are SO many interesting things to see between Pa'ia and Hana that you don't need to go all the way down the road to have a great time. You get a brief glimpse of the Seven Sacred Pools from the helicopter which is cool and we saw some whales from the helicopter as well. If you are prone to car sickness the van may put you over the edge. Take some non-drowsy meds or wear those wrist bands for motion sickness. The pilot was very knowledgeable and safe. We skipped flying into the crater of Haleakala because of cloud coverage which was FINE by me! I was glad the pilot made that choice and didn't let his ego interfere with my potential safety! :) Our driver was native to Molokai and had lived on Maui for many years. He has been driving that road 2x/day for 17 years so I had NO reservations about his ability to handle the hairpin turns on narrow roadways! Book over the internet or MENTION THE WEBSITE if you call Temptation Tours to book to save 10% or 15%.

It is not always a round trip via helicopter
Maui - Kahului

My wife and I signed up for a round trip tour on the helicopter on Maui. Before we left we were given instructions on what to do in case we landed in the water. We were not given any instructions in case we had to make an emergency landing on land which is what happened after the helicopter lost power and was manually put down in a sugar cane field. Seconds earlier we were over water. We were rescued by emergency personnel who cut their way through the sugar cane field and turned up on the front page of the Maui. We were told that the last people on the helicopter crashed and didn't make it. You need to beware before taking a trip on a helicopter.

Exhilerating!!
Maui - Kahului

Absolutely amazing. Lifting off was surreal and the swooping around was quite the ride. Likening it to a long roller coaster, it was fantastic and very memorable! Most definitely worth it.
