Jack, our pilot, was absolutely amazing to experience God's beauty, fire, falls, & coastlines with you. You're an awesome pilot, kept us safe, and we even got to see this big pod of dolphins, thanks for circling back so we could see them!! The lava caldera was so stunning and gorgeous, you did a great job circling around it several times so we could all see! Mahalo nui loa!

The volcano made the tour a once in a lifetime memory. Blue Hawaiian made the entire process a great experience. Highly recommend.

Our timing was excellent. The huge spring eruption of 2018 drew us to fly from Maui to Big Island for the day. We booked the lava waterfall tour (like the other 30 people for the 11 o'clock tour. We had 5 helicopters of excited people. The ground crew was excellent, we all knew what to do. We were efficiently loaded into a modern Ecostar chopper. Our pilot, Ester, welcomed each passenger over Bose headphones. We quickly went right to the action, vent 8. A huge lava river flowed to the sea. The juxtaposition of creation and destruction was amazing. The lava entry to the sea was a mile long. Our timing was perfect and a lifetime experience was provided.

Our pilot yesterday was Shay, and he was very knowledgeable about the island and would often alert us as to what was ahead so we didn't miss a thing. In addition, he was extremely friendly with a pleasing wit. All of that AND he's a great pilot! Thank you, Blue Hawaiian, for an awesome experience! Next time, I want a front seat! �

We had heard how neat it was to go over the volcano but I think we underestimated how majestic it was. Our pilot Greg was very personable and had great information while being extremely calming. He knew our names and was very conscious about both sides of the bird making it impossible to have a bad seat. The helicopter was state of the art. It was modern, comfortable and had great air conditioning. Greg had made a playlist that really set the mood starting with AC/DC while taking off and serious dramatic music while viewing the volcano. It's a little pricey but what a opportunity to see what the people on the big island are going thru. They have seen a decline in tourist since the eruption but it in no way affected our trip. My two girls 13,17 enjoyed it and will have stories to tell their friends and hopefully my grandchildren SOME day. We then went to the valley and cliffs and saw more waterfalls than I have ever seen and playing the greatest music. I had a couple tears along the way of gratitude and love. Don't miss this!

Had a great experience flying with Blue Hawaiian -- felt very cared for and safe. We booked through Tony at our Inn, and our pilot was Esther -- both really showed aloha spirit! Super smooth check in process, nice lounge area, and easy safety video. Super smooth take off and landing, really enjoyed the information she provided in flight. We got several good looks on both sides of the helicopter at the volcanic activity area (inland and where the lava hit the ocean), and also at some unnamed waterfalls. Wasn't cheap ($560 for two of us + tip and fees) but of course it was a once in a lifetime experience to fly over an active volcano. Only tips I would say are to dress lightly (it was warm up there), and wear darker clothes -- lighter colored clothes had glare when taking pix out the window. You'll need to count on checking in early too. We arrived at Hilo at 1pm to give ourselves enough time to park and use the bathroom before the 1:15 check in, flight was 2-2:50pm, and we were at our car again by 3pm. Would definitely fly with Blue Hawaiian again, maybe from Waikoloa if we stay on the Kona side next time.
