I wasn't sure what to expect, given the recent volcanic activity. We got in the chopper to have a look and found out that the main cauldron had drained as a result of this new fissure 8 has blown/leaked out most of the lava. What we saw was almost surreal, seeing the hot pit blowing and oozing and the river of lava heading down through the scattered (and overtaken) houses to the shore. Amazing... then we toured the waterfalls in the NW valleys which was very, very cool...
