We took the Circle Of Fire tour out of Hilo on July 14. Registration and safety video beforehand standard, clear, and uneventful. Our pilot was friendly and put us at ease immediately. No one in our family had ridden in a helicopter before. It was such a smooth ride!! We loved the pilot's narration; quite honestly we would have enjoyed a fully narrated ride but know that's not for everyone. The views were breathtaking. I'll admit, I was hoping to view some lava spewing or a red hot flow- but that wouldn't have been safe and I certainly got the impression that this organization highly regarded safety. We liked this so much that we were visiting their website the following day trying to figure out how we could budget another trip elsewhere on the island. (Couldn't find a way to fork out another $900) Highly recommend, felt very safe Only downfall- paying for parking at the airport seems a bit ridiculous considering what we are shelling out for each flight. Won't break the bank, but where we are from parking is usually covered by the experience. Side notes: Further down the airport terminal are two side by side stalls selling fresh flower leis and kukio nut jewelry for the best prices we saw during our entire stay. Saddle road from the Kona area to Hilo is actually great for travel. Completely confused by other reviews that this road shouldn't be traveled. It is two laned, but wide lanes and has full size shoulders on both sides. New reflectors down the entire road. Drive nice and you'll be just fine.

Blue Hawaiian team did a great job. Orientation was a bit long, but served its purpose of providing safety training. FYI - The entire experience was well organized and the pilot (Bryan) did a great job of making the kids feel safe. Things to be aware of: *Seats are assigned on the flight based off of weight. Bummer that you can’t pick your own. *The flight plan is basically locked in. We asked about a few locations that weren’t on the route and we couldn’t go there. However, you see all the main stuff (Na Pali Coast, most recognized beaches and waterfalls, etc). Our flight was a little under the expected time as we were the last to take off. Great overall experience. Views and photos were spectacular. Bryan gave great and interesting overviews of the sites. Probably a one time thing due to the price, but highly recommended.

Ryan was our pilot, and did a fabulous job narrating as he flew us so that we had wonderful views. Getting inside the crater was awesome, and view of the Na Pali cliffs from the air was absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff were helpful, and the overall experience was professional but fun. We purchased the recording of our flight so we could show family back home, and were able to relive the experience! Highly recommended.

Cory made the flight a great experience even though the clouds were a bit heavy. He found enough holes so we could all get a look at the fissure and the ocean entry. His narration and music was great too.

This was our first time in a helicopter and it was fantastic!! The main reason we chose to do a helicopter tour was because I wanted to see the lava, well, we saw lava!!! It was so amazing!! Our pilot was great and it was a very smooth trip. If you’re looking to do a helicopter tour, this one is fabulous!!

From the moment of liftoff, I was thrilled with the ride. Our pilot was courteous and quite skilled. She gave excellent commentary and answered questions from our party. She flew us around the current rift in the Kilauea volcano and pointed out the various flows history. She made sure we got to see it from both sides of the helicopter. While adhering to current flight regulations, she let us see the eruption and then some beautiful waterfalls. When turbulence was too much for one of our party, she understood and gently moved us on with a successful maneuver to ease the motion. The Bose earphones were wonderful to cut noise and enable us to hear her commentary. I highly recommend this activity.

Great staff and the pilot Mike was so kind to us. We had 5 young girls and they loved it! Such a kind person and even called Meron- Meron! Smiles from Meron. Will def. fly again with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters

One of the best parts of our Maui vacation. Great staff and service. And, our pilot, Glenda, was a great guide during our flight. Highly recommended!!!

An amazing trip and great history and knowledge sharing. Would love to come back and do what the pilots do.

We had a great experience with Ethan who was experienced, knowledgeable and put everyone at ease with his relaxed and friendly manner.  I recommended the tour to a couple of friends who were also visiting later in the week who were on the fence about doing it.  They went ahead and their families each went up and they all had a great time as well.

What an amazing experience! A very big thank you to our pilot Christopher. What incredible flying skills, sir! From one pilot to another I just wanted to say thank you for an absolutely awesome experience!!
