This tour, while expensive for the average traveler, is a great value and completely worth the splurge. We did the 45-minute tour with Geoffrey, who was born and raised in Kauai, and was both a calming and informative guide. We knew we were in extremely capable and knowledgeable hands. 45 minutes is plenty, and if you're prone to motion sickness, take a Dramamine before boarding. Pregnant ladies and those with limited mobility welcome - call ahead with accommodation requests.

We decided to book a ride after driving to Waimea Canyon the day before. I had never been in a helicopter before, and was very impressed with the Blue Hawaiian operation. From the booking through the shuttle ride there, the safety training session and flight, the staff was very professional and safety oriented. Instructions were clear and very thorough. Our pilot, Shay, put everyone at ease and we enjoyed his commentary as he described what we were seeing. He took us over the ocean, and through the canyon, to the waterfalls we had seen from a distance the day before. Our ride and landing were smooth and comfortable. Definitely worth it and can't wait to do it again.
