Took a helicopter ride over Kauai several years ago and saw a good part of the Island of Kauai. However, this time we took Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. The trip was fantastic and the view out of the helicopter was great. Our pilot, Guy, not only thoroughly described what we were seeing, but also gave a lot of history about the island and its geological birth and evolution. They are not the cheapest, but if you want an experience you won't forget, take Blue Hawaiian Helicopters.
SO worth every penny! What an amazing experience. Flying over Kauai in this extremely comfortable helicopter was by far the highlight of my vacation. My son & I had front row seats next to the pilot and the views were spectacular. This is a MUST do while in Kauai.
Loved the scenery & the tour was very educational, as well as fun!
Had an excellent time on our tour out of Princeville Airport on Kauai. Their facilities were clean and welcoming (anyone who offers good free coffee wins my heart). The staff on the ground was courteous and helpful. Once airborne, our pilot Miguel was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. He flew us around the inside of a small crater\canyon like it was nothing. Wonderful experience with a top notch company.
Excellent tour by our pilot Shea. We flew out of Princeville because we are staying on the north shore. It was an awesome flight that lasted about an hour. The entire crew is committed to safety from the weigh-in to the safety briefing to pilot instruction. The EcoStar (Airbus) is comfortable and relatively quiet. It’s air conditioned so you should worry about being hot. You should wear long sleeve (thin) dark shirts to reduce window reflection for photos and videos. Like many tourists, we looked at a number of different helicopter tour companies and are really glad we picked Blue Hawaiian.
Great shots
Pilot was also an awesome guide. Smooth flight and made sure everyone got to see everything. Can't wait to do it again!
Was an awesome experience, pilot Shay did a great job. Love it!
I was nervous about this, but Barrett our pilot was so calm and in control. Turned out to be the highlight of our Kauai adventure. Would recommend this to EVERYONE. Actually teared up a couple times, it was that beautiful.
Our ride was mid-May 2019. From the moment we were in front of the building we had a sense that this is a very professional and expertly-run organization. We had an unusually beautiful day with no rain and just puffy white clouds. The check-in was efficient and well-planned from the mandatory weigh-in for which weights are provided discretely to the reception clerk from the mat you are standing on in front of her (no one is embarrassed with scales), the computer generated seating assignments, the safety video, the life-preserver demonstrations, and the queuing procedure. Before you board the aircraft each passenger stands on an assigned number which easily confirms the pilot's list and seating assignments. The helicopter seemed new, very clean and well-maintained. Boarding was only about 20 steps from the building. The staff directed the process so that everyone's ascent into the bird was smooth and easy. Once in, you saw immediately that this was going to be a fun ride. The thing is mostly a clear bubble with an amazing range of visibility. The pilot, Beth, has an easy and familiar style which instantly made everyone comfortable. You felt you were with a friend you had known forever. She explained the headphones and microphones to talk with her and each other and we were airborne. The copter was noiseless and smooth and the headphone made it almost silent. Then the music kicked in, perfectly choreographed for the liftoff where we were suddenly viewing the coastline. Beth provided an easy and relaxed narrative as she guided the copter describing the scenes below with nice pauses for the music and just absorbing what we were seeing. She gave us a generous tour of the entire island, the craters and waterfalls and pointed out scenes from South Pacific, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jurassic Park, and even the beach which inspired Puff, the Magic Dragon. The took is into a crater where she did a slow 360. The scene was so inspiring and moving that one of our more sensitive passengers found herself crying. The views were indescribable even if you've done other helicopter tours because this island has so much extraordinary geologic history. But I think all of who were passengers would say that pilot Beth's charm, warmth, smooth and informative dialogue, and clear love of what the island and what she was doing took the experience to another level. The copter is equipped with cameras on the outside and inside. At the completion of the tour, they offered a thumb drive with video of the entire experience for $40 +/-. I didn't expect this to be particularly momentous but we bought it. But when my wide and I plugged it in and watched the 5 videos comprising the entire trip we were blown away. It was so well done it seemed we were back in the helicopter. So buy the video of your trip. We are telling our fiends this is a must do and this company is the one to do it with.
It brought me to tears! An experience every person should have! I loved every minute!
Amazing views! Great pilot. Best way to see the Napali Coast!
Pilot was great, very smooth and very competent. Great flight over the island and the sea
Great experience. Tour guide Miguel was awesome.
our piolet paul showed us the island along with a nice flight. He pointed out all the points of interest and did a great job of flying. i have been in many of choppers but this was by far the best flight yet. the ground crew and staff were also polite and friendly...a must do trip
