Our flight with Guy was the highlight of our holiday! Amazing flight, great views and information.
Have done Blue Hawaiian on Kauai and the Big Island. I did the Maui Spectacular and I honestly liked the tours on the other islands better. This said, the pilot was informative and takes you several highlights of the island. This is a good experience and if you have never been on a heli before, you should do this. Price point is comparable to other helicopter rides I have done in Hawaii, Australia, Moorea, New Zealand, and Alaska. This isn't cheap by any means but heli rides are worth it.
great pilot, great flight; all the components of a good time achieved. it was fantastic!
amazing
Breath taking! We went in the early morning so it was still clear - not raining. The helicopter was beautiful and safe. The pilot was friendly and knowledgeable. My husband was reluctant to go, but has been telling everyone it was the best part of our trip! We all loved it. Thank you Blue!!
What a beautiful way to see O'ahu Island. Follow-up with the Bus day trip (ground) tour to really put the island natural beauty in perspective having seen it from the air! To see the Arizona Memorial from the air is "priceless"; especially since you are still not allowed to boat out and walk aboard it (over a year now).
Smooth ride, commentary was ok but could have done with more content, but perhaps due to the passengers not engaging with pilot. Video of ride very disappointing, a lot of the commentary was distorted and not at all clear.
PROS: * This is an experience of a lifetime * The only way to truly enjoy the scope and history of the volcanoes of the big island * My highlight was flying into the valley with waterfalls on the side. * Loved the piped-in music to the noise-cancelling headphones in between the pilot's narration. Added tremendously to the experience of viewing God's gorgeous creation. * Appreciated the opportunity to purchase a video of our two-hour experience. Because photos do not do the experience any justice. A great memento to relieve the experience * VERY professional outfit. Proper orientation, safety checks, etc. CON (not really) * Had BAD memories of my motion sickness in my last helicopter ride in Kauai. Armed myself with Ginger candy, Bonine (better reviews than Dramamine), peppermint oil, seabands for wrist, and more. Turns out you can only bring onboard your sunglasses, your phone and a camera. Also paid extra to sit in the front, and didn't have one problem for the entire two-hour flight! So therefore, this isn't really a con at all, except my own con. The Staff was so encouraging and accommodating, finding me a front seat, advising tips to alleviate motion sickness.
Magnificent ride in the helicopter. You see all of Honolulu with nice narration from the captain. Best of Luck! Mahalo
It was a great trip and one of the most amazing views in my entire life. Definitely would recommend anyone who comes to this island. You will not regret it.
Pilot Paul was so fun. We enjoyed the conversation and the views!
This 2-hour tour of the Big Island was simply incredible! We flew over craters, macadamia nut farms, the ocean, and waterfalls...lots and lots of waterfalls! The scenery and the music brought me to tears a few times. I felt like I was in a major motion picture. This tour was highly recommended by a friend. Without the personal reference, I probably would not have spent the money. So glad I did it. Worth every penny!
I’m a repeat customer to Blue Hawaii. I booked a complete island tour (Oahu), a ride I’ve taken before. The staff is courteous and professional, the aircraft clean and well-maintained, and the pilots skilled and friendly. This trip we had Lauren, who kept us entertained with his Larry-the-Cable-Guy voice (no dirty jokes, tho). I’m a pilot and understand what a job he had - flying, dealing with air traffic control, all while keeping us entertained, informed, and safe. I will be back!
It’s pricey but we enjoyed every minute. The staff is courteous and friendly. The safety briefing was clear. We didn’t fly over the top of Kilauea volcano itself but over a steaming vent which was pretty impressive. I was lucky and for the front door seat. What’s view. I’m sure glad we didn’t take the tour with “door off “ option offered by another company. It’s spectacular and our pilot was passionate and patient answered our questions, even silly and redundant ones. The big plus was that he showed us an area where the 2018 eruption added 14 square miles of land-the “newest” land and beach on earth. Later we took a drive out there to feel it under our feet.
We loved to tour with Josh! It was fantasic
