I've been to Hawaii many times, but this helicopter tour was an awesome experience! Brodi knows the island well and was a great guide and pilot. The hour tour is well worth the cost. All of the staff from Makani Kai Helicopters was friendly and personable!

Doors off tour. O. M. G. I had never been in a helicopter before and was quite terrified of doing this especially without doors but hubby really wanted this so I sucked it up. It was an experience of a lifetime. You must see the island from this perspective, it will literally take your breath away!!! It very windy up there, but the pilot was very professional and did a great job controlling the aircraft. He even dips and turns to give you great unobstructed views. It's a 50 minute flight but you'll wish it was longer. He ends by flying the path of the Japanese aircraft on the day of the attack and a flyover of the Arizona that you will never forget. Staff was very professional and their safety first attitude is apparent from the beginning. Do this.... You won't regret it!!!!!

We had a fantastic experience with Makani Kai Helicopters. We wanted to see most possible of the Oahu Island as we had limited time available and booked our flight directly and easily at the hotel. Makani Kai then arranged everything from pick-up, safety briefing/flight, recording your flight experience (and you have the option to purchase this video or not after reviewing it) and finally transport back to hotel. It couldn’t be easier. Depending of the pack you choose, they fly over various parts of the island. We had some EXCEPTIONAL and BREATHTAKING views. What a fantastic way to see the Island. Our highest recommendations for Makani Kai. Very professional service - including a polite and very friendly (and obviously highly skilled) pilot. All thumbs up from us!! :-)

My husband and I booked our Maui vacation in February. One tour I was so interested in was the Damien Tour with Makani Kai Helicopters. I originally booked with Bryson. Well, our flight over was changed approximately one month before our trip and because of our inability to determine how long the drive would take, we missed our flight. We immediately tried to think of different ways to still be able to go on the tour, nothing was working so we had to cancel the Damien Tour, which broke my heart. This was to be the highlight of our tour. Well, I spoke to someone named Chuck who tried so hard to work with me when it was finally decided that we had to cancel. Well, to my overwhelming surprise Chuck was able to refund us nearly all our money. This was not an inexpensive trip and we thought...good-bye money! Chuck said his boss knew of our troubles and how we tried to make it work. I am still unhappy with missing the trip, yet I cannot thank Makani Kai Helicopters enough for their thoughtfulness and understanding. Mahola!

If you are planning a trip to Hawaii, this is something that you Must experience! This is the best way to see the island. I have been on one other tour before (with a different company), on another island, and I have to say that my experience this time around was even better! The friendly and very safety conscience staff was comforting. The flight was smooth and I was able to take some incredible photos. This was a first time helicopter flight for my children, and they had a blast!!!! Our pilot Brodi was awesome:) he was great in helping my children and I feel comfortable....he was very professional, fun and a GREAT pilot! When you plan your vacation, make sure that you include a trip with Makani Kai and ask for Brodi....the memories that you will have from this experience will last a lifetime!!!!!!

I had the most amazing tour of the island of Oahu, our pilot Brodi taught me more on a 45 minute helicopter ride than I learned about the island the entire 2 weeks I was on the trip. I even sat in the back seat and was still able to take great photos. The helicopter ride was smooth and peaceful with a great sound track playing though my head set. Makani Kai even accomodated for my infant who sat on my lap. They had an infant size life preserver for her to wear and the cutest little pink head set. I highly recommend EVERYONE see Oahu by helicopter. If you forget your camera you can purchase a DVD of your helicopter tour so you can bring it home and show your friends. They also have trasportation to and from Makani Kai and your Hotel.

What a awesome experience , even for somebody who has a fear of heights. Amazing commentary, I only wish I had taken the flight before hiring the car.

I stayed one month at Oahu and flew twice with Makani Kai. My first time was the The Ali'i Sacred falls tour a one hour fllight over the island is just amazing a beautiful view and great pilot. I decided to fly the second time the off door tour and that was WOW breath taking loved every minute!! An incredible ride and the view with no doors is beautiful. Again a great pilot made my ride on the off door helicopter something I will never forget just loved it!! Thank you.

Helecopter rides are not cheap, as we all know. However, maybe you should forgo something in order to take this one! We were collected at our Hotel and returned afterwards. Maggie, our pilot, was great! She provided commentary and made sure that everyone got a view of things she was showing us. We elected to pay for the Executive Package which guaranteed us a front seat with unobstructed views. The 45 min. flight took us on a circuit of half the island of Ohau. Having been to Ohau several times, we knew where we were and to see it from the air was terrific. For those who have never flown before - you are probably in less danger in a helicopter than you are when crossing the road. Don't miss the opportunity! Makani Kai are used in the Hawaii Five O series.

Rene and I were married on the beach...on our shared birthday (5 yrs apart LOL) and spent an unforgetful vacation in Hawaii !!!!..... Flying with Brodie was the best Gift my girl could give me !! I'll never forget it !! This tour was supposed to be 30 min....Was at least 50... Brodie is an awesome Pilot and "now" a Friend ! Turns out the three of us went to the same High School in Bremerton, WA !!! Small world huh??....LOL I would recommend Makani Kai tours to everyone !! Great Time !! ALOHA !!!

Apesar de caro, o passeio de helicóptero sobre Oahu é uma atração imperdível!!! Vale a pena inclusive pagar um pouco mais caro para ficar nos assentos da frente do helicóptero (ao lado do piloto), pois nos 4 assentos traseiros a visão acaba ficando prejudicada. Pagamos mais caro para ficar nos assentos da frente e não nos arrependemos nem um pouco!!! Nossa visão era quase de 180 graus, enquanto os demais passageiros viam apenas um ou outro lado e um pouco na frente. O passeio é excelente, passa por diversos pontos da ilha, cada um mais bonito que o outro. É uma experiência única!!!

We were unable to do all the excursions that we had originally planned due to the government shutdown. So we booked a last minute tour around the island. I was VERY reluctant to do this as I'm not a real enthusiastic flyer- especially on a Helicopter! Yikes! But, I knew my husband would enjoy it, so I agreed. It was wonderful! Our pilot Maggie, was awesome! The tour was beautiful. Maggie was very informative about the island. We were in very capable hands. I felt totally safe. Loved every minute of it. Thanks Makani Kai! And thanks do much Maggie for making my helicopter debut fantastic

This was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii! There were two of us and we took the doors off tour because it looked awesome. This was a mother/daughter trip and we wanted to do something neither of us had done before. They picked us up from our hotel, and there were two other groups on the bus. You are shown a safety video for the type of flight you will be taking. Just FYI, if you take the doors off tour do not wear flip-flops. Our helicopter could hold 4 people plus the pilot and two of us wore flip-flops. They were very nice about it, but you have to take them off so you spend the flight barefoot. My mom and I were put in the front of the helicopter with my mom in the middle and I was on the side. You are literally right at the side of the helicopter so if you are scared of heights do not do this. It does get very windy and a little cool, but it was so much fun. The only negative I could say is that we couldn't understand the pilot very well. You could tell that English was not his first language, but you can see what he's talking about for the most part. When we were over the mountains to see the waterfalls there were points that it looked like he was heading right for the mountain, but would then flip around so that the people on the other side could see the sights. I think my favorite was flying over Pearl Harbor. It was closed while we were there due to the government shutdown so we were not able to visit but we did get to see it. I would absolutely recommend this company if you are thinking about taking a helicopter tour of Oahu. If you want more of and adventure, take the Doors Off tour!

This was the highlight of our holiday. We did the hours flight called sacred falls and it was amazing. Our pilot, Brody was very I formative over the while island and showed us some amazing views. Well worth the money, can't say enough how good this was. Leaves you with some amazing memories.
