My husband and I booked this excursion for our trip to Oahu and this was the first helicopter ride for both of us. The experience started off amazing with Makani Kai calling us to confirm our reservation after we had booked online. Afterwards, we needed to change the time which they were able to do without a problem. We were told to bring a jacket for the doors-off helicopter guide and we both forgot to bring them. Makanai Kai had sweatshirts and jackets for us to borrow though. They also let us borrow a case for our phone and made a strap for my husband to hold on to the our Go-Pro. The weather looked a little iffy before take off so they let the passengers choose whether or not we wanted to go or if we wanted to re-schedule and we all decided to go. Nate was our pilot and we were treated to a smooth and beautiful flight. We were a little anxious prior to the flight but both take off and landing were easy. We weren't able to make the full circle of the island due to the weather but we were able to fly back through a beautiful valley instead and then fly over Pearl Harbor. The flight was so fun without the doors and gave us even better views and the opportunity to take pictures without glares. Thank you to Nate and Makanai Kai for a wonderful flight, we will be back again!

We did this doors off helicopter ride November 27, 2016 and it was our favorite activity for the trip. We had an 11 year old and 17 year old in the front with our pilot who was awesome. My daughter-in-law and I were in the back. I got so many really good photos of Pearl Harbor, Haunama Bay, a waterfall, Dole Plantation and so many other sites. It was the most exciting ride I have ever been on. I would highly recommend this experience. Everyone was exceptionally nice from the time we were picked up at our hotel until we returned. Only one recommendation - bring a sweatshirt or sweater. :)

Spend the extra money for first class (front seats). Fly with Jeff on Sunday. And do the 4 pm Last flight of day Sights were amazing. Jeff a great pilot funny. And have lots of info. Back seat will become very windy Other staff members were great. Would suggest and recommend

Excellent ride over the lower part of Oahu. The pilot was a great tour guide and tried to let everyone on the copter get a good view. And the ground crew was efficient and safe. We highly recommend a flight, you'll see things from the air that you won't see on the ground. It does enhance your vacation. Thank you!!!!

We booked the one hour Sacred Falls tour and thoroughly enjoyed it.This is a good way to see things that you can't see from the ground.Our pilot, Margot, was just top notch with her narration and very informative about the area. They have free pickup from the Waikiki area, Mahalo Kevin for your ground services and Mahalo Margot for an excellent experience!

The amazing views are just unbelievable and have to been seen to be believed. Much of the scenery is only accessible by air making this a must do trip. The helicopters were comfortable and the pilot was great. Unfortunately the DVD footage from our flight did not work due to technical difficulties but luckily for me I had the go pro running the entire trip. Definitely a great vantage point in the open sky.

We did the one hour round Oahu flight with a nice pilot called Jim (or was that Bob?!). It was a bit of a windy day so we couldn't go as low as they sometimes do and the video of our flight didn't work out, but it was as gentle as he could make it. Fabulous views of the island and coast, great commentary, but can't ask questions. Seamless pick up and drop off and very professional.

We chose to do the Hidden Oahu helicopter tour with Makani Kai and it was fantastic! Our pilot for the adventure, Jim, was as hilarious as he was knowledgeable. A truly fantastic experience.

We took the doors off flight in the Magnum chopper. It was fantastic!! Seats max of 4 passengers, tight fit if you get front middle seat, but you do have the best view. Great way to see Oahu and appreciate that it has a lot more to offer beyond the bustle of Waikiki. Flight lasts 30 minutes but you cover a lot, and it is so much fun with the doors off. Wear warm clothes, make sure your camera has a secure strap, and enjoy the ride. Our pilot Nathan was outstanding, as were all the ground staff. Price includes hotel pickup and drop off.

Wow! Unbelievable experience.. the very best way to see honolulu! The views are epic! Big thanks to jimbo the pilot. Knows his way around and definitely knows his history! What a great guy. This is a MUST if visiting hawaii people!

Professional from start to finish. We did the 45 minute door on helicopter tour of Oahu. Pilot Jim from Makani Kai was awesome. The clear weather and Obama leaving the island meant Jim took us to some off the menu amazing places which was a real treat. Recommend this way to see Oahu. We will do the doors off ride next time. We did the 50 min Oahu Doors Off Adventure. I have never been on a helicopter before and this experience did not disappoint!! What a way to see the island! Our pilot was very friendly and informative. Some of the sights we saw from the sky were Waikiki, Diamond Head, The Punchbowl, Pearl Harbor/Arizona, mountains leading to the North Shore, Pipeline Beach, Sacred Falls, and many more waterfalls. I would highly recommend this adventure!! I haven't done a helicopter ride with the doors on, but don't know why you would want them there to restrict your experience! This adventure is not for someone afraid of heights! Have fun!!!

My husband and I travelled with our cousins and spent 2 weeks in Oahu. We took the 1 hour flight with doors on and it was awesome. Nathan was our pilot and he was very knowledgeable and we all had a great time. The best advice given was to wear a dark colored shirt to prevent a reflection in the windows! I wore a thin, black, long sleeved shirt...it made a difference when taking pictures! Everyone that worked there was very friendly, we watched a safety video and then was guided out to the helicopter for our tour. We also purchased the DVD that was taped during our flight and it was a great keepsake! Highly recommend Makani Kai Helicopter tours!!

We did the Doors Off tour on Oahu and it blew my mind!! One of the members of our group had been on a few heli rides and she said it was easily the best flight she's been on!! Our pilot (Jeff?) was a great guide - I felt completely at ease riding with him. We had a few modest bumps along the way but that is expected in a heli. Saw mantas & turtles in K Bay, two breaching whales off the N Shore, and the infamous Sacred Falls. Stunning views!!

El Piloto muy amable explicando cada detalle y haciendonos sentir un vuelo muy padre. El precio valio mucho la pena y vimos la Isla por donde solo en Helicoptero podrias llegar, lo volveriamos a hacer sin duda.
