We booked this somewhat last minute and were so glad we did! Totally worth it- from take off, seeing the very shallow water to the breathtaking mountains and waterfalls. Our pilot, Rick, was really chill and very knowledgable about the island and the history. From the weather and rock formations to folklore. This is really the best way to see Maui. I highly recommend.

Amazing views of Maui. This was the highlight of our vacation. Special thank you to pilot Tim Perry. My husband and I rescheduled our tour just to have Tim be our pilot. My husband had previously taken a tour with him and found Tim to be very friendly and a great tour guide with lots of knowledge and experience flying helicopters.

Four of us took the Maui Complete Island Helicopter Tour with Blue Hawaiian. My wife and I booked the two front seats. Their operations staff was professional and helpful, their waiting area facilities are comfortable and well-maintained, their helicopter afforded panoramic views, and the pilot was very professional, informative about the geology and history of the island, and responsive to questions. Each of us had a head-set and each couple had a microphone to communicate with the pilot. The scenery is spectacular, with numerous razor-edged mountain ridges as a result of millions of years of rainfall-caused erosion, and all covered with lush vegetation. Because of the ruggedness of the terrain, most of the mountain areas are inaccessible, and help provide needed habitat for endangered bird species. Have been to Maui previously, but didn't fully appreciate the beauty and ruggedness of the mountains until this helicopter flight. As always with an aerial view, very helpful to put various locations into a "mental map" and "link the locations together in a more integrated way". Highly recommended.

What an awesome experience. Everyone was very professional and efficient. We got there a little early. They have you relax in a comfy lounge and wait to watch the safety video. Then after that we waiting for our turn. We get sent out the the helicopter which was a great size. I've ridden on much smaller ones so I was pleasantly surprised. We get in and end up having one of the most calm, pleasant knowledgeable guys. I couldn't have felt any more comfortable. He kept us up on every single thing he was doing on top of giving us so much information about the island. He even brought us over the ocean to take pics of the whales. He would go around in a circle so both sides of the group got good pics and kept asking if we were good or needed more time. The sites are to die for. If you don't do this tour your missing out.

Beautiful. Disappointed our pilot totally nixed N & S shores, missing N cliffs & S lava fields. Descent too fast from Haleakala. No close up waterfalls. For pilot I believe it was more about time than showing whole island experience, although he was very friendly & knowledgeable. Not at all worth the $$$.

It would be five stars if it weren’t for the element of “hurry up and wait.” Otherwise, they were super conscientious about temps and masking, and the tour was great, with a pilot who was happy to point out all the sights and let the kids ask questions.

Unbelievable experience - I swear we were smiling ear to ear under our masks the whole time! This was literally the last activity we did before leaving Maui, and what a great way to recap our trip and see even more of the beauty of Maui. Our pilot, Mike, did an outstanding job of navigating us around the island, pointing out interesting landmarks and answering our questions.

From above it was so beautiful! I loved being in the helicopter with my family! The whales looked amazing and I want to say I was in a dream. Mike turned the helicopter so we all could see. I remember seeing a rainbow in a waterfall! It sounds impossible but it's true. After 45 minutes he landed so we could have a break. When we went back on the helicopter I became excited for more! I was sad to leave but I want to do it again and be more adventurous than this time.

We had a perfect day to fly which helps, but besides that fact, this was one of the most enjoyable vacation excursions ever. If you are reading reviews to sway a decision, I urge you to try this out. It was amazing. Words cannot describe, so...

The Maui Spectacular tour was a great way to see the entire island on a short period of time. Our pilot, Mike, was very talented and did a great job!

Loved our trip. The volcano was so interesting to hear about and see. The falls, well... We had some clouds that day and the pilot decided to change course so we ended up seeing just (what looked like) smaller falls. nothing spectacular by far. Overall, I am happy i did it.

Was basically disappointed in this tour. Based on the description I expected the helicopter flight to go at least near the main part/caldera of Kilauea Volcano. But it did not. Flew over a lot of the volcanic shelf and saw an active area with some lava flow. I had previously been to the visitor's center where you can get a better view of Kilauea and the erupting lava than from the helicopter tour. If the tour description said the tour did not go near the main part/caldera, I would not have taken it. Maybe if there were more outcroppings of lava it would have been better. But you cannot make Pele do something she does not want to do. The view was nice if you just want to go on a helicopter tour.

We did this as an excursion off of our cruise ship. I can't say whether the price was a great value but I feel like we got our moneys worth. Our pilot was very nice, explained what he was doing with the copter before he did it so that no one was surprised about the movements and made an effort to make sure that everyone on the trip got to see everything. (think circling both right and left so that everyone got a view). You can get some glimpse of the volcano from the ground but you really get to understand the size of the lave field from the air. We flew out over the ocean to see where there is activity along the shoreline.... including seeing lava coming into the ocean. Then he took us up over an active vent where you could see lava boiling out from underground. After that we flew over other parts of the island where he pointed out things of interest, river, water falls etc and gave us some background on life on the island. All in all a very enjoyable experience that I heartily recommend.

We always like to take helicopter rides when we go to new places and Hawaii is no exception. The great staff advised us of the different packages available and best times to fly, etc. We chose the flight out of Hilo, so had a pleasant drive cross country to get there. Our pilot (Jason) was knowledgeable and considerate in terms of getting in at all angles so all passengers could take good photos of the bubbling lava in the crater as well as the lava flows - to the songs "Comfortably Numb" and then "Ring of Fire" (boom tish boom). Getting as close as possible / allowable to the crater without compromising safety was paramount and it was a job very well executed. Our friends who had never been helicopter riding were very nervous at first but very keen to do it all again one day!!
