Our 45-Minute Scenic West Maui and Molokai Helicopter Tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Maui! I must say had it not been for my husband talking me into this, I would have missed out on this great experience. We opted for an early am flight (weather was a lot less windy at that time and skies were fairly clear). Upon arrival, we were greeted, checked in, and watched a safety video. Luckily the four of us had brought a dark shirt and jeans to Maui as we learned the day before this was recommended for us to wear (otherwise when taking photos during the flight there will have been a glare that would show in photos). Our excitement began when we heard the whirling sound of helicopter rotors outside. We then exited the building to see a couple of rows of helicopters; a few if which were ready to take off. Once inside our helicopter (we took the Eco helicopter) we met our pilot, Derek. We could not have asked for anyone better to take us on this adventure! It was evident that Derek did not consider this tour "work", rather an opportunity to jubilantly share Maui's beautiful and picturesque tropical island scenery that tourists like us would never get to chance to see while on land. He had the perfect balance of sharing information about him, asking about us, giving us fun and interesting facts about what we were seeing, and allotting time for us to sit back and listen to fitting music so we could take it all in. We so appreciated Derek and this magnificent tour!!

This was great fun and I highly recommend. Our pilot Derrick was not only an excellent aviator (I know, I'm a pilot myself), but a very knowledgeable tour guide. The ECO Helicopter was awesome -- there were 40 knot gusting winds that day, but the trip was very smooth. Maui had heavy rains a few days earlier, so the many waterfalls along the cliffs were very active. The whole experience with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters was pleasant and professional - they are very safety minded.

I must admit I was very nervous about taking this trip, but wow! Our pilot Tim was great. He started our trip by greeting us each by name and asking us where we were from. As we took off, he played the theme to Mission Impossible which was so cool. The views are amazing. The water was beautiful, mountains are majestic and waterfalls are stunning. I have a tendency to get motion sickness and I didn't feel any nausea at all. It was so smooth. Tim narrated the whole trip with very interesting history and facts. I felt very safe as well. The other staff members are great (from checking in, safety briefing and buckling us up). Mahalo Blue Hawaiin Helicopter Tours for a once in a lifetime experience!

Very accommodating to my personal needs...I get motion sick easily...and very professional! We had such an amazing time. This is the BEST way to see Hawaii and this is the best helicopter tour available.

From the beginning, we had the feeling that these guys knew their business. In the air, everything was explained before it happened, so there were no unpleasant surprises. A camera can't do justice to the scenery.

This tour was absolutely breath taking! We had never been on a helicopter before, the experience is different from an airplane because you can feel and see everything while your moving. We took some motion sickness medicine, just in case. Our pilot was named Hugo and he was the best! Our flight was not bumpy and Hugo gave us lots of good information about Maui. He had us laughing and answered any questions anyone had. Seeing the beauty of the big blue ocean and riding through the green mountains and volcanos was one for the books. Nothing can compare to that beauty. We got to see the waterfall where they filmed the first Jurassic Park movie. We had a fabulous ride and nothing else beat seeing God's beauty from our seats. We did not get to see whales, because it wasn't the season for it, but they said if you ever get the chance to go during December- April you should take the helicopter tour because you will see 15-20 whales. But if you want a good tour of West Maui chose this tour. You wont regret it!

My wife and I took the tour of western Maui and Molokai helicopter tour with our captain, Tim. Our experience with Blue Hawaiian all in all was exceptional service from booking the reservation to checking in upon arrival to the actual tour itself. This is obviously a business that takes customer service a high priority. We also have a flash drive of our tour which have watched since we returned home to relive our awesome experience. I can't recommend them enough!!

I highly recommend this is you have the budget. Unbelievable views made up for how nervous I was. Pilot answered every question. I will never forget this moment.

Amazing Experience!! We all had a great time on the west maui molokai tour with Rick as our pilot!! Check in 45 mins prior, you need to be weighed (it's not announced so you feel comfortable) . There's a 5 min safety video that gives you a look at what to expect and details about the helicopter. You can only bring sunglasses and a cell phone, they provide lockers free of charge for anything else like purses, hats, etc. The bathrooms are clean. Wear black After the safety video, you move on to the next area where you put on your life vests and get in order of how you'll be sitting based on weight. Then you go outside where we took a group pic and get into the helicopter in order, they help you get in and put your seatbelt on and head sets. There's 2 seats up front and the lighest person sits next to the pilot, there's 4 seats in back and even the center 2 seats had great viewing. Ac was available as well as barf bags The pilot Rick was a nice guy, knowledgeable about the tour and other random questions. There's 3 microphones used to communicate. Although the west maui mountains were cloudy we went around the turbulence and got to see a different side of Maui you don't always see. It was cool to see the island from above and get a better geographical understanding. We all felt very safe. I think the most exciting part was take off!! It's so entertaining, its over quick so enjoy every minute! After landing, they open the doors, help you out and guide you back to the building, all still feeling safe while lots of helicopters are around you. Once inside, you fill out a comment card about the pilot and trip and can leave a tip. You can purchase a video of your experience, views both inside and out and audio too!! $40 All employees were very friendly Wonderful time, can't wait to go again!! Thank you Blue Hawaiian!! We booked the west Maui and Molokini tour during our recent visit. It was amazing. Pilot was very professional. Views were unreal. Would definitely recommend. If you have a tendency to get motion sickness, I would take Dramamine or use a Scopolamine patch. Totally worth it.

I've been on several helicopter tours, Blue Hawaiian did an excellent job! Their staff was so fun and efficient that check in and safety orientation was a simple and easy. The flight was beautiful and informative. Molokai has some stunning landscape and reef systems and West Maui is always gorgeous. Bruno was our pilot and he was very fun and informative, you can tell he loves his job. I didn't feel anxious or uncomfortable at any time during my experience. Highly recommended.

This was a great Helicopter Flight. Our instructor was so informative and made us all chuckle over & over. We made our own Sunrise coming up to and over a mountain. That was spectacular. Saw so many Waterfalls and great areas. Saw where Jurassic Park was filmed. So lush and Beautiful. Worth every Penny!

I was a little hesitant to do this activity given the cost - it ain't cheap. And the cost is really the only reason I gave it four stars - well, with one other smaller knock which I'll get to. My family of five participated with kids ages 15, 12 and 9. Everyone had a blast. My 9 year old was firing off questions to the poor pilot most of the flight. But the views of Molokai and the sea cliffs/waterfalls was amazing. And then we got to see dozens of humpbacks and their babies between Lanai and Maui. The pilot was extremely knowledgeable - to the point where I was curious whether he was just making up stuff. My son was asking him the names of all the waterfalls and he seemed to know the names of even the tiniest?! My small knock was that we had 5 people in our group. These helicopters technically fit 6 people. My concierge said there was no way they'd find a single to fill that seat. But lo and behold a single showed up and went with us. I was pretty fired up given how much I was spending for this flight. There was another helicopter going out at the same time with 4 people - but we took the single. That said, the experience and the pilot made up for it. They pick the seats for each person. I had a front seat which was great. My littlest kids had window seats in the back and those were great. I've read a lot about how bad the middle back seats are but I actually didn't hear any complaints from my wife and oldest daughter. So they must have been fine - especially when they're just looking over the smaller kids.

Hard to rate Blue Hawaiian. The staff are wonderful and expertly accommodating to my husband who needed the lift chair to get in and out of the helicopter. Have flown with them before on the Maui Island tour, which is fabulous, especially when Haleakala is not clouded over. My daughter and her family did this tour this time and raved about it, especially getting to pass over many groups of whales. Having done that tour, we selected the newer West Maui and Molokai tour. Worth the ride for the view of the north side of the island and its highest-seacliffs-in-the-world view. Some nice waterfalls. But, I was very disappointed that we were not able to fly over or even get close to the former leper colony and sanctuary with Father Damien's grave. It's inaccessible by ground as well. Since it takes time to get to Molokai, the tour is limited to the north side and the fly-by Maui is limited to the west side from Kapalua to Maalaena (sp?) Harbor. So came away somewhat pleased and somewhat disappointed.

Hugo was our pilot and he did a great job! He was very personable and made every feel at ease. We had a rainy day but made the best of it. We would definitely recommend the great folks of Blue Hawaiian to anyone!
