I highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Kauai. Our Piolet Matthew was very knowledgeable about the island and it’s history!
This was an amazing experience and probably our favorite of the trip. The staff at Blue Hawaiian was very professional and organized and we absolutely loved our pilot, Greg. He was animated and a great tour guide for our 55 min. of airtime. The views of the Napoli Coast from the helicopter were unreal...lots of photo ops! And because of the larger eco planes that BH has, the ride is so smooth so you don’t feel the usual drops and bumps that we have experienced on other rides. There are cameras inside and outside of the plane so the company also puts together a video that is available for purchase at the end. Wonderful company and top notch experience!
Beautiful, breathtaking, amazing, SURREAL! When we booked our trip to Kauai, coworker insisted, "You HAVE to do this flight!" And now we understand why! It's a splurge, but totally worth it! I've never seen so much natural beauty in one place in my life. Friendly and professional staff. Our pilot, Mark, was very knowledgeable about all the areas we flew over. Everything from history, geology, current events, weather, movie locations, the list goes on. This was so awesome we considered doing it a SECOND time before we left the island!
What a beautiful way to see the stunning Kauai landscape! This is definitely a must when traveling to Hawaii. I ended up sitting in the rear on the left side and I don’t feel as though I missed a thing! Be aware that there really is not a choice for seating, it is done by weight and seating distributed by computer. Brian was a wonderful guide and was genuinely a nice guy. Would highly recommend this company for a helicopter tour!
We dithered about taking this tour, it's not cheap. But after reading the details in the Kauai guidebook, we decided to do it. Excellent decision, because it was marvelous. In particular, the views of the Wai'ale'ale crater, the Waimea canyon, the NaPali cliffs and narrow valleys, and the waterfalls were simply amazing. There are parts of the island that cannot be seen any other way unless you're a superb hiker with good luck and lots of time to spare. (And some privately owned areas that cannot be seen at all except from the air.) Of course, we were lucky with the weather. We chose Blue Hawaiian as one of the companies recommended by the guidebook. It was very professional and well-organized. (Perhaps the *most* professional and well-organized thing we encountered in Kauai.) Pilot Guy was experienced, confident but cautious, and made for a trip that felt adventurous but safe. I'd say if there's one thing not to miss on Kauai, it would be the helicopter tour. There's a dress code - wear dark (preferably black) clothes to avoid reflections in the windows that spoil photographs. Please observe it if you're going out. One person in our party wore white, and about half my photos have a ghostly white sleeve reflection superimposed on the landscape. (If you forget, they have black shirts on sale in the Blue Hawaiian office for about $30 apiece.)
Brian was our pilot and I can’t say enough about how wonderful he made this event. We had flown here before, but went again as we had some first time to the island friends along. Brian’s commentary was exceptional. The weather was perfect. We even got back to Mt. Wai’ale’ale and the crater. All the staff were friendly, helpful and took as many photos as possible. Highly recommended. And the video was very good as well.
We had Guy as our pilot and tour guide on our flight and can't say enough great things about him and the flight! This is THE BEST way to see the Island! We really enjoyed listening to Guy's knowledge of the sights and would absolutely come back to Kauai to take another flight with him. Our flight was originally cancelled due to lack of visibility and I'm so glad we waited for a visible day to go because there were many things we were able to see once the clouds were parted. If you are considering a helicopter tour, go with Blue Hawaiian!
I had the pleasure of joining Shay (ask for Shay) for our helicopter tour of Kauai! Worth every penny! Not a bad seat in the house. The waterfalls and seeing the interior beauty of the island that you really can't access is amazing. A perfect blend of breathtaking views, music and pilot description! We got into the volcano crater which was quite the experience. I sometimes have issues with planes and cars with motion sickness but this was a smooth ride more like a hot air balloon. The entire experience and staff was very professional with emphasis on safety. Save your pennies! A must do in Kauai and the big island but only with Blue Hawaii Tours.
WOW...so thankful we flew with Blue Hawaiian! I was initially nervous and from the moment we signed in, everything was very professional which set me at ease. The helicopter was so comfortable with large windows providing great views on all sides. Our pilot, Geoffrey, was a former Navy pilot with a great sense of humor. Loved talking with him throughout our flight. THE VIEWS!!! This is the best way to see beautiful Kauai. The views of Waimea Canyon and the Napali Coast were breathtaking. Loved all the waterfalls too. Don't miss this! I know it's pricey, but it's worth every penny.
Guy was our pilot and he was amazing!! We had a great time, its a must if you come to Kauai. Get a morning flight if possible, less chance of clouds.
The views in this tour were extraordinary! The experience was perfectly completed by our awesome pilot, Shay!
Our pilot Matthew was knowledgeable and entertaining on our fantastic tour of Kauai. Between the history of the island, canyons, waterfalls, volcanoes and movie history, we never had time to catch our breath. Great tour, great company, and great pilot!
I am not a good flyer, don't like confined places, get motion sickness and scared of Helicopters. Our 10:30 am flight was cancelled due to air conditioning issues. This did not help my nerves one bit. The staff quickly offered other times today or an additional day. My friend said lets go later today...they knew I might not come back.. So I put my big girl panties on, sucked it up and experienced the flight of a lifetime. No words can explain the experience. Mark was our pilot and an expert flyer, kind and immediately provided a sense of comfort I knew I was in excellent hands. This Company is top notch! Blue Hawaii has an excellent business model. From the person that takes the phone calls, answers questions and schedules your flights, to the people that check you in and provide the teaching/safety video to those that make sure we are in our seats and belted in properly!! Perfect is the best word to describe the experience. Everyone was trained and demonstrated excellent customer service especially to a scaredy-cat like me! So glad I went on this flight.
I was the one potential hold out in our group of 4 for this trip - I'm not a big fan of heights and I'd never been in a helicopter - but from the moment we signed in to the moment we landed - this was a top notch experience! Safety is the number 1 priority of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and when you know that - it's easy to relax and enjoy the view! Our Captain Marty was awesome - he really knows the lay of the land and shared a lot of really interesting information about the Island. It was so beautiful to see the Island from above - the ride was smooth, the sights breathtaking and over way too fast! :)
Pilot Geoffrey did an excellent job pointing out the amazing sights of Kauai. From the Na Pali Coast to flying into a volcano. This was totally worth it!
