Amazing once in a lifetime experience! Great perspective to see Big Island from the air. I highly recommend the Big Island Spectacular Tour to see both volcano and waterfalls which lasts approx 2 hrs. Our pilot, Toshi, was very knowledgeable and personable. He has a great music playlist too. I learned so much. Amazing to fly around the active Kileaua volcano. Only thing better would have been if she started to erupt while we were flying. Blue Hawaiian does a good job with safety and instructions. The inflight/external video with dialogue during flight was a nice option to purchase for $120 after flight but still good to take your own pictures and videos. Initially was unsure whether to spend the money on landing at waterfall, but so glad we did. Jurassic park experience landing right beside waterfall and greenery on one side and ocean on the other. If you tend to get motion sick easily, I would recommend motion bands or some means to prevent. Air vents are above you but sometimes helicopter can be warm and contribute to motion sickness. Keep in mind that a comfort seat that costs $349 will be added for individuals weighing over 240 lbs. Weight on helicopter needs to be very specific. Polarized sunglasses recommended. Can only bring camera/phone and plastic water bottle on flight. Wearing dark colors is recommended to prevent glare.

We never fly any other helicopter than Blue Hawaiian. The BEST pilots ever!!! You won’t be disappointed.

We took a helicopter tour with Hawaiian Ryan. Ryan is a former Blackhawk pilot, which put me at ease right off the bat. I've never done this before. I didnt have any idea what to expect. I just knew I wanted to do it. The scenery was fantastic. Ryan was also friendly and witty, and he has a pretty good playlist, too.

We were so lucky to go when we did. We got to see one of the eruptions on the volcano! It was a once in a lifetime experience. The ground crew were super friendly and helpful. Our pilot Kaj was friendly and knowledgeable. This was my first helicopter ride. I was a bit nervous, but they were amazing. I am so glad we decided to add this into our trip. It was a great way to see so much more of the island without having to spend hours in the car.
