The helicopter tour over Kauai came highly recommended to us by a friend and particularly with this company. I must say I am glad we listened to her as it was an amazing experience. Being in an helicopter is already something but the views are out of this world! There is no better way to see the island. The music adds to the moment and the possibility of speaking with the pilot and asking questions at any time makes the tour very personal. I still wish we sat at the front but do understand the weight was well distributed and must admit the view is still pretty good from any seat. It is comfortable, felt safe and although they see many tourists a day, they give an excellent service and make you feel welcome.
A must do while in Kauai! Expensive and worth it. Pilot takes you over scenic waterfalls, Napali Coast cliffs, Waimea Canyon, and it's visually stunning. You can't see the whole island from driving, so it's spectacular. You can get a DVD of your trip or a generic Hawaii sights DVD with your trip. .
My parents and my family of 4 took a tour of Oahu on Blue Hawaiian. It was a great trip. Unfortunately, President Obama was on the island, so some of the air space on the east side of the island was restricted. Even so, we saw most of Oahu, a tucked away waterfall only accessible by helicopter and our pilot Julie was great. My wife and I were in Hawaii 20 years ago and took the same tour but on Maui. Both trips were equally fantastic. You will be offered a DVD or SD Card of your flight (for a fee). I opted for the SD Card this time (VHS 20 years ago). For some reason I can’t get the audio to play on the card but it may be an operator error. If you’re wanting to see all the beauty of Oahu in about an hour, this is the right place.
We had an amazing ride around Kauai with Blue Hawaiian. Our pilot, Brodi, was a wonderful guide and shared with us great information about this breath-taking island. We had the opportunity to fly into the crater that birthed the island. It took your breath away! We had a fantastic time and would definitely fly with Blue Hawaiian again in the future. Mahalo!
We had a great experience with Blue Hawaiian. Very professional staff, which made of feel very comfortable. They have their own building and a real system to get you off the ground. Our pilot was very knowledgeable and a lot fun to see the amazing island from up in the sky.
As everyone has already said, this tour is top-notch. The staff are professional, safety is taken seriously, and our pilot Mark was an expert airman and tour guide. My son and I never flew in a copter before, and it felt very safe and quite exhilarating. My only quibble is that I was assigned to a rear middle seat, which really obscured the view. But I'm a big guy, 6'3", so that's life! The scenery, of course, is spectacular, although I think the the views on Maui and the Big Island are more awesome. But that doesn't detract from the quality of this tour.
This is a pricey attraction but it ended up being one of the best value ones we did! It is absolutely worth it and we were lucky to see Kauai and the Na Pali Coast with our pilot, Brad. We started with a diligent pre-flight safety briefing but it was quite quick and easy to follow. Then, we boarded and our pilot, Brad, took time to get to know everyone on the flight as he took off. We were in good hands as Brad has a lot of flying experience - both with BH and also in the military. The narration was never over the top but it was tremendously useful in learning about the island. The helicopter, itself, is a great machine with huge windows and great views from every seat. I was in the back middle and my wife was right at the window - we both had excellent views and mine was supposed to be the worst on the helicopter. Brad was the highlight, though. He engaged all of us on the helicopter and made two and three passes over and beside all of the beautiful sights around us. 5 Stars For Sure.
Great experience. If ever to take a helicopter tour as a tourist trap this is the one place to do it. Meaning Kauai. Especially because a significant part of the island is inaccessible on foot or by car. Plus what a beautiful island. Blue Hawaii was top notch and professional. Can't say it is the best or not but have a feeling it is top fo the line, since I did not try any of the other myriad of helicopter our companies.
This was awesome! Worth the money for sure. Our guide was great. They bumped us back a half an hour, but gave us a free video of the ride!
This was our first trip to Kauai and a friend had recommended that we take a helicopter ride. It was worth every penny! I highly suggest that everyone take a helicopter ride around the island toward the beginning of your trip to get a good feel for the island. We chose Blue Hawaiian. Our pilot was Mark, very knowledgeable and great aloha personality. They have camera's filming your ride and offer a copy for sale afterwards. The quality is good, not professional. Considering they are on a helicopter, it will take on the elements, such as rain, or fog. It will be a wonderful keepsake that we've shared with family and friends. They get to see what we saw there. It was a magical adventure that will never be forgotten.
From the shore to the volcano lava craters to whales then into and over the valleys -- this was awesome beyond belief. Pilot was very professional, gave a full commentary including background music. Accessable. Do not miss this one -- and be certain to buy the HD video of your flight --- it is priceless!
Of course, the weather is a big factor in whether you have a good trip or not & our day was beautiful - sunny & clear - the snows on top of Mauna Kea were visible for the entire flight - we were treated to a fly over both of the active volcanoes - Kilauea & Pu'u'O'o - the pilot obliged both sides of the helicopter by flying figure of eights over the volcanoes & we flew on both sides of the current lava flow which has set light to trees & is baring down on the village of Pahoa - given all of the current viewing restrictions & relative inactivity of the volcanoes, a helicopter is about the only chance you will get of seeing any of the Orange stuff! - & the ariel view really put the current lava flow into perspective. We must have been airborne for well over an hour, which passed way too quickly - my daughter asked if we could go again! .. Yes $230 x 3 is a fair bit for a family but the trip was truly memorable ... Oh yes, & we got to fly past Air Force 1 as well
First time helicopter tour so I wasn't sure what to expect. Experience started out a little frustrating as Blue Hawaiian had us booked at the wrong time, even though e-mail confirmation was correct. After rearranging our schedule we were able to rebook. Really glad we were able to make this work as the flight and views were awesome. Our pilot, Miguel, was very knowledgeable and provided a fantastic island tour with phenomenal photo opportunities! For a fee of $42.00 I was able to purchase a recording of the flight on either Blue-Ray or HD USB; very nicely done, was glad I bought the video. Overall experience was awesome and highly recommend Blue Hawaiian, but advise you call and confirm flight details ahead of time
The views were spectacular. Shay was our pilot and he was great. The take off and landing were smooth. We got to see everything on the island. This is a must do thing if you. One to the island
There are not words to describe the beauty of this tour. The views are absolutely breath taking. Our pilot was very knowledgable. The company gives you a safety briefing. You can buy the video of your tour. Our audio was missing from our video so the company gave us the video free.
