I was never really interested in a helicopter tour....but when you are in Hawaii, you do not pass up a helicopter tour, and I am so glad that I went. THIS WAS BREATHTAKING. The pilot makes you feel comfortable and secure and our pilot was also very funny. To be able to learn about the island from a helicopter was pretty fantastic. The views were incredible there was never a dull moment and I kind of felt like I was in a movie. Since it is a helicopter, you will feel the vibrations due to the small size, however the aircraft was in great condition, clean, and the staff was so professional. Well worth the money and definitely MAKE TIME FOR BLUE HAWAIIAN!

Our family of 4 shared an 8-seat flight with 3 other passengers and Barrett the pilot. It was a 50 minute ride to the canyon, na Pali coast, the Jurassic falls. Barrett was friendly and the microphone/headphone system worked well. The on-boarding and off boarding staff was helpful. I got good photos even though I was in the back row middle seat. I enjoyed the sights and felt that I didn't have to hike the trails to see them again. Got photos outside the copter too. True, it's not cheap, but worth it.

We booked this trip on the advise from a couple that recommended it to us. We were not disappointed! Never have been on a helicopter, so was concerned! Very professional and very smooth and beautiful trip! Highly recommend - Gregg was a excellent pilot and shared a lot of information with us, yes we bought the video and have enjoyed watching it once we got back to Colorado!

The big island is much too big to see it all unless you live here. Even then, some things are just too remote. We took the "spectacular" ride. It's a 2 hour tour of the volcanoes, coast line and the waterfalls. Most beautiful things I've ever seen. The ride was great and our pilot (Eric) was a superb guide. Only thing I wish we'd considered doing was the waterfall landing. This is a can't miss tour!

Not one negative thing to say at all about this amazing helicopter tour over an active volcano, waterfalls, rain forests and so many other things I can not describe. Our pilot, Ian, a former Afghanistan helicopter pilot, handled the craft extra ordinarily. He was amazing and safe! Expensive but worth every dollar for this trip.

I've always been a little hesitant to book a helicopter tour because of the price, but in Hawaii, the price is worth every penny! They take you places you would not be able to see any other way, but in the air. The sites are unbelievable! Hawaii is a gorgeous place to be anyway, but it's even more beautiful from the sky! I'm not sure who had more fun, us or the kids :)

I was nervous about taking a helicopter ride over volcanoes and close to waterfalls, but our skilled pilot, Dale, soon put me at ease. He was quite competent, and also a great tour narrator, blending humor with info about the island and what we were seeing. He took us over the opening of volcanoes so we could peer down at the red-hot lava burning inside. We rode by cliffs and waterfalls, and saw the island in a way you just can't from the ground. The ride was smooth, and the helo itself holds no more than 6 passengers plus the pilot. Each passenger is given a headset to muffle outside noise and connect to the pilot's sound system, so you can hear his descriptions of the sights. If you want to ask a question, there's a mic you can use. And the large windows ensure that everyone has a great view.

Did the 45 min tour was pretty good was rather choppy but the pilot was great and got to see views over pearl harbor and other places we had seen from the ground the day before.

A truly memorable experience in the helicopter. I recommend doing this early on on your trip to the island so you can orient yourself with the things to see and do. Our guide pointed out countless trails, hikes, and beaches to see and experience. This is for sure an opportunity you do not want to pass up. I did not even look at other helicopter companies but from everything I heard, Blue Hawaiian is the Cadillac of high flying tours.

I had the most amazing and comfortable helicopter ride ever.. Well it was my first helicopter ride so I compare but I truly enjoyed this one.. Our pilots name was Greg, he was very nice and made the tour more interesting.. The service was great the whole tour was great.. And I felt safe because their helicopters were big...

You must take a helicopter tour while in Kauai! Flying into the canyons, a volcanic crater, the Napali Coast, the waterfalls were absolutely breathtaking. The most amazing experience! Our pilot was experienced, entertaining and very knowledgable. FYI The local Costco does offer money saving gift cards for the trip.

I just returned from an amazing trip to Kauai. One of the tours i kept hearing that i needed to take was the Helicopter tour. Because of work i didn't have time to do a lot of research before I left, however Blue Hawaiian seemed like a good company to go with (discount gift cards at costco). There equipment was nice and customer service was ok. With that being said they use a seven seats Helicopter (6 passengers) and seats are assigned by a computer (balancing the weight). two of those seats are in the middle back. From those seats you will have a very different experience than the others that have a window seat. Your constantly looking through others to see the views (I normally take a lot of pictures and I only got a couple shots without the reflection of others or the back of the front seat). It's not Blue Hawaiian's fault and I should of done the math before I made the reservations. Next time i would make a reservation with company that uses a smaller helicopter to insure I had a window seat. Unfortunately your not going to know where your seat will be till you show up the day of your flight. The pictures that i saw others were getting were amazing, wish i could of take some of those.

Pricey as these tours are, I did my usual research before choosing Blue Hawaiian in large part because of the features of their Eco Star helicopters. State-of-the-art, excellent visibility, pilot communications for questions. It was also one of The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook recommendations, my reference book for our visit. We were not disappointed in any way. Our pilot, Barrett, is a native Hawaiian who grew up on Kauai and knew the island inside out. He had hiked to and camped in many of the out-of-the-way places we visited, otherwise inaccessible by vehicle. He answered every question we asked with no b.s. Making the experience even better, he had a musical soundtrack playing for the entire time we were in the air, keyed to where we were flying, everything from Hawaii 5-0. to Iz singing "Over the Rainbow." The theme from "2001" A Space Odyssey" cranked up as we turned on the Na Pali coast. Sort of sent shivers. The coup de gras was the video we purchased at the end of the trip. Taken with four different cameras (three outside, one inside) he somehow managed to expertly flip between them as he was flying an narrating. It includes the audio from the entire tour, music as well as the Q & A. Our impression is that Blue Hawaiian is a very professionally run outfit that works hard to provide a memorable experience. On a future return trip to Kauai we'll do it again.

We happened to be flying in Kauai on a day that did not rain and the sky was blue. The Na Pali Coast was breathtakingly beautiful. Our pilot Scott was informative, funny, but most importantly, a great aviator. We flew in and out of canyons with finesse. The peaks of the cliffs, the bottom of the canyons, and the waterfalls can only be seen by helicopter. It is a must see by air. It was my first helicopter ride and I felt very safe; the ride was so smooth!

Took my entire family with Dale our incredible pilot on a tour from Kona to Hilo over active lava flow! We then landed in Hilo for a quick stop and continued on to the waterfalls (I would highly suggest a waterfall landing, definitely worth the extra money). The only issue was our 3 year old daughter did not have a booster seat and had issues with her headset and harness. We let the manager know about it afterwards and they took care of it for us. First class organization and amazing once in a lifetime experience. Our pilot Dale was not only a rock star pilot, but was funny and full of really fascinating information about the island. I would HIGHLY recommend this!
