Blue Hawaiian Helicopters was a great experience. They give you a safety briefing before the ride and let you know about the flight. the pilot was great filling in a lot of details about the island and getting all onboard involved in the experience. It is a wonderful way to experience Kauai interior and coastline that you cannot get to by car. The waterfalls were beautiful and the whole trip well worth the money. Helicopter flights are expensive, but if you can it is a once in a lifetime experience. Would highly recommend Blue Hawaiian for their experience. And highly recommend for the adventure.
Had a great time! They put 7 people on at a time but the views are too spectacular to mind :) our pilot was awesome! (Miguel) he made sure we all had a chance to take great pics. Best part of the trip!
On this trip you experience the rain forests, coast, volcanic badlands and Madame Pele's lava and volcano action. Unfortunately even though you pay an additional $115,extra per person to travel in an Eco-star helicopter over the A-Stat modles your view from the two inner rear seats are limited. Despite Blue Hawaiin claiming the rear seating is "raised theatre style" it is practically impossible to get an uninterrupted View of the sites your pilot works hard to show every passenger. These two inner seats are therefore, almost useless if your intention is to film your experience yourself. These inner seats should be cheaper but they are not. You can not choose where you sit ( for good reason as the craft needs to be balance) but, the company and its agents should be more honest about the seating and viewing. Finally you can buy one of there dvd's of the flight but it's not your filming, you have to pay for it and that, is if they don't drag you back to your residence before giving you the opportunity to buy, as was our experience.
We have had a fantastic tour on the A star helicopter. We have seen the active vulcano's with great view, then we went further to Hilo, coast line and a very beautiful view of the valley, waterfalls and all the different climates on the big island. It is not cheap, but worth the money!
if ur coming along way to see hawaii like me then spend the extra money and get a birds eye view of paradise.... Wonderful way to see a magical place, very professional, highly recommend to anyone wanting to see Hawaii :) loved it ,, thanks guys and girls .. mahalo ??✌?
Great flight - pilot was informative and friendly. Fabulous way to see the island and learn about its history. Only wish we had done it earlier in our stay.
High recommend Blue Hawaii Helicopter to see Kauia maintains and the many beautiful water falls. We also use this company on the Big Island too. Not as organized on the Big Island as on Kauia.
What a professional wonderfully run company. From the pick up at the port to the receptionists and magnificant pilot. Shay was a magnificant pilot and gave us a spectacular tour. Aircraft is clean and smooth ride. Tour well worth every dollar spent . As a previous reviewer said Spend the money and go, you won't be disappointed.
We flew with Greg who had great knowledge of the island, as he's lived here the past 28 years, and saw some of the most amazing sights. The Bose noise canceling headphones were also a nice touch, you could barely hear the noise of the helicopter. This was by far the best helicopter experience I've ever had, can't wait to do it again!
My husband and I decided to go on a helicopter ride over Kauai as much of Kauai cannot be seen from the road. The weather was a little cloudy but the pilot was able to fly low enough so that we were able to see dozen of waterfalls. The scenery was spectacular. The company seemed to have safety first in mind which is what you want when flying in a helicopter. The weighting could not be more discrete. Overall enjoyed the ride, but might try the open air version next time.
A first class operation. Proper visitors waiting area, professional ground crew, and an excellent pilot/guide. We sprung for the extra priced Video. We went during our first few days on the island. So much to see that is unreachable by car that makes this a MUST do activity. Very expensive, But skipping it would be like going to the Louvre and just having lunch.
This was our second flight with Blue Hawaiian and it was even better than the flight we took on Hawaii Island. The views of Kauai were absolutely breathtaking. We went all the way up to where the clouds rested on the mountain tops and watched waterfalls that looked like they came out of the clouds and plummeted 1,000 feet down the mountainside. This is surely a "don't miss" opportunity.
Definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The Garden Island is so lush and beautiful! Perfect to see from the air. Our helicopter pilot was funny, knowledgeable and a great guide while also flying and toggling back and forth between cameras! Talk about multitasking. We were really glad we went with Blue Hawaiian over the others. It looked like a lot of the other helicopters had been repurposed to serve as tour helicopters, and didn't look very comfortable, where the Blue Hawaiian ones are made specifically for these types of tours. Comfy seas, extra window space so every can see out, even through the roof! Note that there is a weight limit -- if you're over 260 most companies will make you pay for an extra seat. We were able to negotiate with them, since between the two of us, it evened out.
When they say million dollar view this is what they mean! What a trip and great well equipped staff, you will love this ride;)
Highly recommend Blue Hawaiian! Their helicopters are well maintained and very comfortable. Great noise reduction headsets with piped in music adding a nice flair to the ride. You won't be disappointed!
