I knew the ride was going to be great but I had no idea it was going to be that great. Worth every penny. Out pilot Ian was awesome. We would do it again in a heart beat. The video we bought was great also. Thanks Blue Hawaiian for a great adventure.

My girlfriend and I did the breathtaking flight from Nawiliwili (Kauai) early morning of the 29th August 2014, we were very fortunate to have clear skies with perfect visibility for our helicopter flight, it should have delivered many great photos.. When we first arrived at the airport we were greeted by friendly staff, checked/weighed for computer seat allocation on the helicopter then watched a safety video followed by a verbal tutorial. Seat allocation is then given although in our case the check-in receptionist had made an error with out party and had split my girlfriend and I and another couple onto separate flights...go figure..The receptionist responsible was asked to rectify the seating error and to our amazement was not only very rude to the four of us but got huffy as to suggest it was all our fault. She also handed us our new corrected seating allocation with no apology!.....Moving on.... the necessity to wear dark shirts to stop reflection inside a helicopter is a must do for clear photography.This was well stipulated before take off and dark t-shirts are even offered by the company for the duration of the flight if you need one. Unfortunately on our flight the one person who just happened to sit in the front window seat had a navy blue t-shirt on with a very bright orange stripe right across his shoulders and a pair of bright red board shorts. OMG, so many photo opportunity's ruined. Red and orange colours were reflected onto the back windows glass like a Vegas Casino for 90 % of our flight. Dark clothing 'tops and bottoms' should be the policy. Hopefully this will be considered by the company so that future passengers do not encounter the same frustration we endured. We flew for almost an hour with spoilt photographic views and the person with his girlfriend in the front seats completely oblivious to the fact. So what should have been the perfect experience with breathtaking photos fell short, very short.....To our pilot 'Barrett' unbeknown to you what we were experiencing from the back you did a great job regardless and those mauvers so both sides got a photo opportunity produced handful of non-reflective photos for us.Cheers!

We've been going to the Big Island since the 80's but had never done a helicopter tour. Our annual trip included our daughter and her fiancé. I picked Blue Hawaiian based on reviews and location near our hotel. Though the cost is high, we opted for the newest helicopter for increased visibility. Our pilot, Marco, was engaging and proficient. As we are a family of pilots, equipment and skill were important factors and we were delighted with the tour. The cameras mounted on the outside and inside allow the production of a video for purchase at the end and it is worth the money. This was the highlight of our vacation because we saw lava flowing and went into valleys that we would never be able to access otherwise.

We flew on Feb 23, 2015, with pilot Geoff, and had a terrific time. There were 4 members in our family, including my 6 year old and 8 year old, they were seated so they could easily see, they had lots of questions for Geoff but he was patient and good humoured in his responses to them. We are prone to motion sickness, but this flight was so smooth we had no problems. Geoff put us at ease right away by telling us of his experience as a pilot. The cost for the 4 of us was quite a lot, we had to separately budget and save for it, but it was worth it. The scenery and beauty of the island is breathtaking, and seeing from the air is a whole new perspective. It was tough to get good pictures because there was reflection on the windows of the helicopter, but don't worry about taking your own pictures, they record a video of your flight for you.

It can't get any better than this sightseeing tour! Our pilot, Barrett, was awesome! Very smooth flight. His knowledge of Kauai, the people and the land, was seamlessly added to the trip. His music selections fit into the tour whether it was the beauty of the land, the culture or just the flying experience. His flying expertise brought us close to canyon walls and waterfalls. He even found a few whales to watch! The hour passed so quickly. The copter was comfortable and with the headphones allowed easy communication between everyone. The windows are large and no view is obstructed as well as our pilot made sure to give all sides a view of specific sights. The beauty of the canyons and NaPali coast was so beautiful. The ground crew and office staff was also perfect! Do it again if I ever can.

Great experience had no complaints! Pilot brad was unbelievable smooth flight and even more knowledgeable with the island we were able to see everything we wanted to see and wouldn't have had it any other way! All staff were friendly only complaint was long time after flight to get merchandise but besides that FABULOUS!

First thing we did on the island. First time for all 4 of us to ride a helicopter. Fantastic experience! Our pilot was great and full of information. He welcomed our questions and made it a great trip. I HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Once we arrived from our cruise, we walked to the location to get check in ( had reservations in advance) and get weighed. That all went smoothly. Then we loaded up in a van and went to the airport. We opted for an open door, private tour. We met our pilot ( don't recall his name, but I believe he left an attorney job to fly helicopters) he was absolutely amazing! He is an excellant tour guide/and pilot. This helicopter tour was AMAZING!!!!!!! I have never seen such breathtaking views in my entire life. My husband and I had a deal, we both had cameras securely fasten and both agreed to just snap away. You really cannot take time to focus on zooming in or think of what you want pictures of. So, we snapped away and ended up with a TON of wonderful pictures! So, glad we decided to do that in advance. It is a bit windy with open doors, but the experience is an once in a lifetime experience!

First time I took a helicopter tour and it was well worth. Pilot was friendly and professional. Sights were awesome!

The helicopter ride was good and the pilot great. Our price of $430 for two was pricey but we heard they were good. We were supposed to get t-shirts and a video of the islands included. When we checked in they asked our T-shirt size but unfortunately they only give ONE T-shirt per couple! Guess we are supposed to share that! They should not give any out or provide one per customer at that price. It was basically rude. Try another outfitter who might really appreciate your business. Or you could pay separately and probably both get t-shirts for the same price!

Everything worked as planned. Blue Hawaii picked us up from the cruise ship right on time. The helicopter port was clean and comfortable. Plenty of time to check your belongings and use the rest rooms. The safety briefing was both amusing and informative. Boarding the aircraft was safe and efficient. The pilot, Shae, was skilled and a great guide. And then the flight. I have never seen anything as beautiful in my life and may never again see it's like. I'm writing this two days after the trip and I am still stuned. Do this trip! We choose Blue Hawaii because of the jelicopters they fly. As promised they were quiet and comfortable.

My kids and I gave a helicopter tour to my husband for his birthday gift. He loved every single second of the trip/tour. The pilot was so good about telling about the aircraft, the views, the history and she had everyone on board involved. Well worth the money. This is a gift he will never forget, and he doesn't have to dust it or wash it. LoL!

This is our third trip to the Big Island, and our first helicopter tour there. The concierge at our hotel recommended the two hour "spectacular"--we figured if we're already in the air, might as well get the best tour! There aren't enough words to say what a great experience this was. Our pilot, Toshi, was knowledgeable and engaging. The tour was beautiful--so difficult to imagine that you can see so many different settings on one island--from the dry side of Kona over to the greener Hilo, over to the volcanoes where you can see lava bubbling, to the waterfalls of Waimea. Absolutely amazing and worth every penny!

We did the Big Island Spectacular tour. About 2 hours in the air. Marco was our pilot for the Eco-star flight and he was knowledgeable and had us interacting. Great seating and good views. Marco pointed out the sights: volcanoes, ranches, beaches, shorelines, valleys, roads, waterfalls, etc. We were lucky enough to see volcanic activity, dolphins, a whale, and the crashed plane. There was some fog or vog (volcanic fog) but it was pretty clear so great flight. It is expensive but definitely worth it. You won't get a better view of the island or volcanoes. Driving through the volcano park isn't the same from everything we were told by others. The flight was videoed inside and out so you could purchase the trip if you wanted to. It was really cool.

Well organised trip with efficient hotel pick up and modern helicopter used giving great views of the beautiful Hawaiian scenery accompanied by excellent commentary by the pilot. Well worth the money.
