Every pat of this tour was amazing and worth the money. They do have transpiration to and from Waikiki.

Oahu, HI was beautiful by helicopter. The trip was awesome, the views spectacular. We thought it would be a bit frightening since it was our 1st helicopter trip but Loren, our pilot, was great. He was friendly, informative and patient. The flight was smooth the entire trip. Awesome!!! James and Carlette

I had been on a Kauai helicopter tour with a different company ten years ago and was very impressed at the time. Blue Hawaiian runs a much more professional operation, with a bona fide terminal, a serious safety briefing (with video) and "guest relations staff" all around to help before and after the flight (e.g., by taking family photos in front of the helicopter.) Our guide/pilot was Brandon, who was very good, and it was clear that he had done this tour MANY times before. (Mostly that's a good thing.) He was very patient with/responsive to questions. Certainly didn't look at my watch once during the 55 minute tour itself -- it was over before I knew it. Seemed like the official instruction to arrive 45 minutes before the flight was a little unnecessary -- we did quite a bit of pre-flight waiting. I wouldn't recommend cutting it closer, though, because they ran the safety briefings in batches. We booked on the company's own website for a discount (5-day advance purchase required). We heard them answering calls while we were at the terminal telling callers they had no same-day availability for new reservations. Would recommend.

Having flown on many occasions due to the nature of my work, I was concerned my wife would struggle with the flight as she does not normally like flying. My fears were unfounded as the flight was very relaxing and quiet due in part to the Bose headphones playing music throughout but mainly due to a very informative narrative from the pilot (Julie). This has been by far the most comfortable and enjoyable flight we both have experienced. Remarkably my wife would actually do it again. We would both highly recommend this particular tour during your stay on the island of Oahu as you get to see most if not all of the key locations from the air. The flight is suitable for all ages.

We took the first flight at 7 am in an ecostar helicopter over the whole island with our pilot Gregory and it was wonderful!! He explained everything we saw and he gave everybody the chance to get a foto by circling in different directions over the spots of interest. Over our headsets we listened to a great selection of music perfectly selected for the ride. I considered it for a long time before booking this tour as it is a pricy activity but it was worse it!!! Thanks a lot Gregory!!

After spending a week in Kauai, I don't plan on being back because I've seen everything I wanted to see on land, so getting to see all of the island whilst in the sky was the perfect way to honestly say I've seen all of Kauai. I think there's just no way to appreciate the natural beauty of Kauai without seeing it by helicopter. The views of the canyons (had no idea!), greenery, waterfalls, and ocean was breathtaking and to see it by helicopter was an unforgettable experience. Barrett was an amazing pilot and the way he flew in between the hills was awesome. If only they added Jurassic Park's theme music to the tour, it would've been perfect!!

We took a helicopter ride over Kauai on Oct 11th...loved it! Our pilot, Craig, was knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a smooth ride (10am flight). At one point, he positioned the helicopter just right so a rainbow encircled us. Wonderful. Every flight is recorded and available for purchase right after the ride is over (we bought ours). We had a 6 passenger helicopter (they also have 7 passenger) and it was not cramped at all. Great views and a great way to see the island. Well worth the $.

The absolute best money we have ever spent on a tourist activity. It was spectacular and staff were great.

We had a great tour with Blue Hawaiian. My 9 year old daughter was a little scared as it was her first time in a helicopter, but Adam our pilot, did a great job of talking to her to calm her down. The tour itself was a fantastic way to see the island in a perspective you can't get from the ground. Yeah, it's expensive, but for a one-time event it was great to see everything they show you and get pictures as well.

My family of 4, with 2 children aged 16 & 15, visited Kona in September this year. We did the 2 hour Big Island Spectacular, taking in the lava flows, plus waterfalls etc. Greg was our pilot, very nice young man, and very professional. Was great on the commentary, and made sure the passengers on each side of the helicopter got to see everything. While we did hit bad weather on the Hilo side of the island, we set down for a time, so our 2 hours lasted a few more, but that's ok. Because of the rain, we were looked after by the ground crew at Hilo, and when all ok, we made our way back to Kona, via the wonderful waterfalls and scenery the other side of the island had to offer. A very professional company to deal with.

We took the Big Island Spectacular with the stop at the waterfall. Our pilot was Greg and we had an amazing time! He was knowledgeable and personable and made the trip extra special. This is a great way to see a lot of the island. We were lucky enough to see some lava hot spots. We did this about midway through our trip so we had already seen some of the locations from the ground, which gave us a better perspective on where everything was. The helicopter itself was comfortable. Be sure to wear dark clothing which cuts down on glare and allows you to see more. Wear sturdy shoes if you plan to stop at the waterfall. This is not a thrill ride and none of us had any problems with motion sickness. Highly recommended!

my pilot talked crap to the australians on my flight during the entire trip. then when i got home with my HD video, it only has 1/3 of the flight on it. And I had paid $645 for the Big Island Spectacular and the waterfall landing. Thought I was going with "the best"....best at taking your money...save it, and just fly with another company on the big island. I did a trip in Kauia as well and THAT one I recommend! Waikaloa office refunded part of my fees, so bottom line paid $375 and no video. Wish had used another company with video.

If you're wondering if it's worth it, it is. I know it's expensive. AND it's spectacular. You will see sights you simply cannot see any other way. You can NOT go to the top of the volcano on foot. You may never see an active volcano again. Seeing an active volcano, burning the trees around it, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We splurged for the Big Island Spectacular, and I'm so glad we did. As amazing as the volcano is, seeing the Kohala cliffs felt almost unreal. Soooo beautiful. Words cannot do justice. You just have to experience this to fully appreciate. Go!!
