This is our second time with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, our first was on the Big Island our of Hilo and was equally as fun. We booked in advance, online and saved a little money in doing so. The driver from the hotel, as well as the staff at the heliport, were professional. The ride was exciting and our guide Jonathon was friendly and knowledgeable. He was careful to turn the helicopter so people on both sides could see the views. We were lucky enough to see whales twice, once, a mother with her calf, and once, a single animal just near Hanauma Bay. Flying through the misty mountains on the island's North Shore was a treat. I certainly recommend taking a helicopter tour of the island. Especially if you have done some driving around first. It really makes you quite familiar with island.

I booked a helicopter ride for me and my husband on Monday, 1/14. Due to poor weather, I believe our ride was cut short as we did not get to see the North Shore and the visibility from the air for the rest of the trip was spotty due to low clouds and rain. Our pilot, Julie, did a great job getting us back to the airport and I am grateful for that, but after I thought about it for a while, I realized that we did not get the excellent experience that most people did. Also, very disappointing was the machine to make the DVD of the trip was not working correctly, so we were not able to see the recorded trip. I would rather have had the flight cancelled and rescheduled so we could get the full experience, but it is what it is! It was not really worth the amount we spent.

We had booked this tour for Saturday which got cancelled for bad weather. apparently that can happen a lot because east coast has a very crazy weather. Blue Hawaiian was nice enough to reschedule it for the next day. They offered refunds or change in tour for the same day but we wanted to see volcanoes and lava. The only annoying part of the reschedule was they could have skipped the safety video and just told us that flight is cancelled. These kind of time savings is super helpful when you are travelling with an 18 month old. The next day was very smooth. We were the last ones to board so we got the one with 2 empty seats in the middle. Our pilot Jason was very nice and gave us a good history of everything Big Island. He kept everyone engaged with discussing everyone's jobs and locations and hotels. The tour included flying over Waimea to north kohala coast from Polulu valley to Waipio valley, then along the hilo coast and then over hilo to kilelaeu mountain where the craters and the destruction is. We flew over the craters that had some lava activity. He then flew back the same route. Btw, our 18 month old was awake half the tour and then went to sleep. They provided headphones for him which he willingly wore after 2 mins into the flight. He was not very comfortable in the lifejacket but he made it through fine. We thought it might be too warm or cold in the helicopter but it the temperature could be well adjusted. I highly recommend not to eat lunch right before the tour. I felt slightly motion sick but did not throw up but it could have been projectiles flying around if I'd had my lunch. Their location is very convenient right on 19 highway next to Waikaloa.

My wife and I flew with Blue Hawaiian on the island of Kauai and were absolutely thrilled. This event became one of the main highlights of our 2 weeks in Hawaii. We had arrived on a cruise ship and found the office easily and then were transported out to the airport. Nate,our pilot easily put any nerves at rest when he outlined his flying experience and then proceeded to do a great job narrating and flying over some of the most spectacular scenery we have ever seen. 55 minutes literally flew by. I think we would actually take this flight again but have also tried thinking of future destinations that woul include this type of activity. It is not inexpensive but extremely well worth it. We would recommend to friends that if you are going to travel to the Hawaiian Islands this has to be part of your trip and while there are flights over the other islands , I can't see any of them topping Kauai. Thanks again Nate for such an exhilarating adventure.

Absolutely amazing to see the Big Island from this perspective. Beautiful beaches, sweeping valleys, endless waterfalls. Our pilot, Dale, was awesome - so knowledgeable and loved chatting with us and encouraged questions and comments. Multiple cameras captured what we saw and also captured pictures of us in the cockpit and audio recorded our comments and conversations with Dale. You can buy the DVD or the whole program on USB for $40 which I thought was a great deal. The helicopters were very comfortable. I would absolutely do this again!!

The two hour Big Island Spectacular with our pilot Greg was a day to remember. The company was very professional and made us feel comfortable on the ride. The views are unforgettable and our pilot did a great job of circling the most popular ones so that everyone had a front row seat. We also got a nice commentary on the Big Island and it seemed like the two hours flew by (pun intended)!

we took the two hour tour from Kona. We had hoped to see much more than a one hour tour as we suspected that a large portion of the time would be getting to and from the sights". I was also afraid I would get stuck in the middle and would not see much. We took the echo star (more money) and yes I got stuck in the middle. The majority of time I had no problem seeing the sights. The pilot went out of his way to show the sights to both sides of the copter the majority of time. We think it was well worth the extra hour of flight time. If I did do it again I would consider the upgrade to sit in front.

This was THE highlight of our vacation! Well worth the money. Julie, our pilot was AMAZING!!! I am super sensitive to flying, and this helicopter was so smooth, I didn't feel nauseous one bit! VERY peofessional staff! Make sure you buy the DVD of your flight for lasting memories! This was the BEST EVER!!!

My wife and I flew with Blue Hawaii on Oahu. Jonathan was a great pilot and tour guide. He is highly experienced and safe pilot. We had a great time flying with him. This is a very professional outfit. I am an experienced Helicopter pilot and know a great organization when I see it. I heartily endorse this operation.

Fabulous flight with Jonathan. I would do this every day if I could. The scenery is breathtaking and Jonathan's knowledge of Oahu was enlightening. Jim was informative as to the mechanics, which we also found very interesting. Thanks for a super morning!

What a great way to see the island, and Jonathan did just that, by showing us things you can only see from the air , we loved every second of it.It was by far the high lite of our trip. Thank-you

This was something we have had on our bucket list and it far exceeded our expectations. From the minute we arrived until we left, every person w dealt with was extremely professional and courteous. Our pilot was Tom and he was a hoot, very knowledgeable of the area and very engaging. We will definitely come back to Blue Hawaiian no matter what island we are on!

The only tour that went as it should from start to finish.Well worth the price loved it.We had at least 1, tour a day for a week some were a nightmare but the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter was the highlight of our trip if we had anymore time we would have done it again. Thank you

We had a nearly 2 hour tour the Big Island of Hawaii. We saw live volcanoes, rainforests and many waterfalls. This was our first time in a helicopter, and it was lots of fun. The back seat holds 4 passengers, and the front has 2. The windows provide a wide view, even for the people in the middle seats. Our pilot, Jeremy, put us at ease immediately by telling us of his prior helicopter experience. He provided great commentary, and got everyone to interact by asking us questions and calling us by name. We were being recorded, which we knew. The helicopter had one camera inside and 3 cameras outside. We were able to purchase the DVD of our own trip for a very reasonable price. Of course some of the scenes have rain on the cameras, but it was our trip, and it rained! We liked it so much, we did another trip on Kauai to see the Waimea Canyon.

Barrett the pilot was fantastic. Professional, but also very interesting to listen to and funny as well. Very enjoyable in every way. I was surprised how smooth it was, as I am prone to motion sickness, but there was no problem at all!! Thanks so much!
