My wife & I Teresea flew this island with Julie our pilot...and two other couples. The view of the island was Spectacular. Julie was cool as a cucumber at the helm & showed us a great perspective of the wonderful landscape with a explanation of each major sight. No worries if you book...you will never forget the experience.
I have been on a few flights in recent years and this one had some good things going for it. Most flights are short due to operating costs but this one was almost an hour. It goes over all the interesting features and geography of Kauai. Miguel was our pilot and he consistently spoke to each person on the flight by name. That was a really nice personal touch. I felt engaged, it was personal. Good job all around and of course the views are excellent.
We had an AMAZING TIME. This is our second trip with blue Hawaiian helicopters. It is outstanding. I was not sure what to expect. It's like sitting on your sofa with an incredible view. We flew over waterfalls ,into the canyon and over knife edge ridges. We were shown and told about historic Hawaiian sites. We saw where many movies have been filmed. I could have stayed up their all day. Go up with Blue Hawaiian helicopters if you get the chance. You'll love it! There is no reason to be nervous at all. It's really cool.
The views are breathtaking, but for me the whole thing was worth it just for the helicopter ride. Lots of fun. The musical choices were sort of campy, though.
Greg O was an excellent pilot and made me feel very safe (I was very nervous about the flight!). We saw the lava flow into the ocean which was a bucket list experience! Equally as amazing was the trip into the canyon to see the waterfalls. Beautiful! Great trip!
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour today with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. Prompt pickup at Hilton Hawaiian Village and a useful safety briefing before the flight. Julie was knowledgable and friendly as our pilot. This is well worth your time.
We went on a helicopter ride in Oahu. Paid over $450 and was looking forward to buying the video of our flight advertised in their brochure and on their website as "A Souvenir of a Lifetime". Only problem was the video wasn't work the day of our flight. They knew it beforehand, but failed to mention it. Huge disappointment.
We arranged 2 helicopters for a 2 hour tour. What an amazing trip. Shane and Greg were our pilots. They nailed it! We'd recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters at anytime.
This was probably the best value we received on anything we spent our money on while in Oahu. My guy stated that it was one of the best experiences of his life...and he has travelled! The views were amazing and it's stuff you simply can't see from a drive around the island....especially all the coral reefs up the west side of Oahu. Blue Hawaiian was excellent. Our 11:00 pm trip was cancelled because of the winds and the rain clouds ... So turbulence but as Taylor said to us, they want us to see the stuff we paid for...so we rescheduled for 3:00 pm. And my guy almost wanted to cancel. SO glad we didn't! They shuttled us back in and the back out and we went up with Christie. She rocked. Good pilot, super friendly and made all 6 of us on the copter feel included, teasing some of the guys, telling us all about the various places and flying the flight back into Honolulu basically along the route the Japanese took to bomb Pearl Harbour. Just a great afternoon!
Miguel did a fantastic job showing us the sights of Oahu today. It was an amazing experience full of beauty and wonder. The flight was so smooth! I expected bouncing around but it was just like floating on air. The entire experience was a joy from start to finish. Thank you!
This is a great activity to do before or after you've gotten familiar with the island. It was great to see things I have not yet had a chance to visit such as Koko Head Crater and Hanauma Bay. The views were breathtaking, both in a good and bad way since I was a bit afraid anytime a gust of wind blew. However, our pilot Lauren, knew how to keep us calm and relaxed. He did a great job informing us of the history and significance of many of the island attractions including dormant volcanoes. The soothing music was essential since I started to have an upset stomach during the last 15 minutes. I do not recommend eating prior to take off at least for a couple hours..but overall it was amazing! They have great local discounts too!
shay was an excellent tour guide/pilot. he gave us a great over view of Kauai. loved the views of Waimai canyon, Na Pali coast, N shore, Queen's Bath and cattle ranches. So much fun. This was the high point of my trip. I picked up a flash drive of our tour for $40. 4 cameras mounted outside the helicopter, 1 inside plus microphones recorded the entire trip so no need to photograph. 50 minute tour for $250 a piece. wonderful tour. waterfalls too numerous to count.
Although this activity isn't cheap, Blue Hawaiian's prices are competitive, and the experience was completely worth it to me - it even exceeded my expectations. Everything was seamless and well-organized, from the check-in process to the safety presentation to the procedures for getting on the helicopter. Our pilot, Greg, was very warm and friendly and clearly experienced (nearly 8,000 hours in the air!). Though his voice was calm, he showed great enthusiasm for the beautiful island of Kauai. It was a nice touch that he referred to each of us by name, got to know us a bit, and made sure to include each of us at some point during the tour (for example, "Tiffany, below you can see your hotel as we fly over Princeville"). Although the service was top notch, what really blew me away was the scenery. The angularity of the mountains, the colors of Waimea canyon, the numerous waterfalls... I just couldn't believe how beautiful it was. It also struck me how undeveloped Kauai is, so I felt so fortunate to see these gorgeous places that you can't easily access any other way. Greg also played some music during the tour, and I have to say that seeing 400-foot waterfalls while listening to "Only Time" by Enya made for a pretty dramatic experience! There were cameras inside and outside the helicopter recording the whole tour (including Greg's narration and the questions asked by the guests), and when we saw the preview of the video, the quality was really fantastic. I decided I was too cheap to purchase it, and I had taken a lot of photo and video myself (on my admittedly less fancy camera), but I do feel like it would be a great memento. Last note - I get carsick and seasick so I was pretty nervous about the helicopter ride. They do make helpful suggestions, like taking off jackets, since staying cool helps avoid nausea. I had taken some antinausea medications before the tour and I ended up being just fine :) I actually would love to do this again next time I'm in Kauai! The memories, pictures, and video don't compare to the experience and how incredible it feels in that moment!
We traveled as a family of four with two teenage children and having flown all the way from the UK for a 'special' holiday we wanted to maximise our six nights on the island. We felt the best way to see the island and particularly the lava phenomenon that was happening during our time, was to take the two hour helicopter flight package. This included the volcano review and coastline exploration. It was expensive but without doubt worth every single penny. From arrival to departure you are well looked after by the friendly staff. Our pilot was Eric who was so knowledgeable and informative and really made the trip for us. He made it fun and educational. With apologies for the pun the two hour trip just flew by! The sights we were able to see were truly breath taking and we were able to capture some incredible sights on camera with Eric's assistance. Whatever you do don't miss the opportunity to see this incredible island by helicopter.
My husband and I did the Big Island Helicopter Tour in Hilo and it was amazing! We got some great pics of waterfalls and an active volcano. We would highly recommend!
