This was a wonderful experience! Eric our pilot was knowledgeable and considerate. I was fortunate enough to sit up front in the copter where the viewing was incredible.Spectacular scenery with lush vegetation and waterfalls made our day! Well worth the price!

First, this helicopter tour was the sole reason we visited the big island. Booking- super easy, I spoke with Ginger and she was SO helpful in figuring out our reservation, as we had a few larger people and needed to figure out the weight limit. Also, she ensured we would have a wheelchair lift for my uncle. So, we got there and checked in, double checked we would have the wheelchair lift, which they said yes. Jason asked me if my uncle could take a step (which I assumed he meant from wheelchair-lift). Went to get on the helicopter and there was no lift. Jason got super irritated with us and said he asked. VERY embarrassing!! We took this trip for my uncle who has cancer and his bucket list was to take this helicopter tour, sole reason we visited the island! I also asked for him to sit on the left side since he has vision problems, which Jason did NOT accommodate either. Anyways, trip ended up being cancelled that day last min due to weather. We went back 2 days later and Sina and Erik helped us AWESOME! They accommodated him sitting on the correct side and with the lift. There was another girl on the runway which I didn't catch her name, but super sweet and she remembered us from the time before. We were glad to not see Jason :( our pilot Wesley was amazing!!!!!! He gave an excellent tour, answered all our questions, and made it fun. We got to see lava and my uncle was SO happy. Totally worth it!!Thanks Wesley and he rest of the crew for making our trip amazing.

My wife gives them a five and I give them a 1 so on average it is a three.   My wife loved the flight and the narration by the pilot.   She was an aircraft maintenance officer in the USAF and loves flying stuff.   She had a window seat.   I am a medical type person.   First thing I noticed was the ceiling windows and the flashing light as the rotor spun around.  I wondered if anyone with seizures ever had one as a result of the flashing.   A baseball hat would have blocked that out but they do not allow you to wear hats.  I finally had to settle with putting on my sun glasses which helped some.   The noise level was incredible.   Not the noise of the copter,  the noise of the music and narration they pumped in thru the Bose headsets.   There was no individual control on the headsets,  not even one to turn them off.   So whatever volume the pilot set for the music and his narration is the volume you got blasted into your ears.   They also had microphones so you could ask the pilot a question.   Wonderful idea but they need to keep kids from playing with them.   We had a young boy who thought it was neat to make loud sounds in the microphone which came out blasting in everyone's headset.     If you take off the headset to avoid the noise the pilot tells you to put it back on.   (Bring your own ear plugs and stick them on under the headset,  the pilot will never know!)   As far as that Bose noise reduction system,  I did not see any benefit and think a regular pair of hearing protectors would have been just as good.  (Actually,  they would have been better as you would not get the music, narration and kid noise blasted into your ears!!) We flew from the Kona side of the island for the two hour tour.   A waste of money.   Most of the time was spend flying over to the volcano side and back.   If you are going to spend money doing this,  drive over to the Hilo side and go from there.   The trip will be shorter and it will cost you half as much to see the same thing.   Lastly if you read my other reviews,  it is NOT necessary for a driver (or pilot) to turn around and look at the passengers while he is talking.   His job first and fore most is to safely drive the bus or fly the copter and looking at passengers in the back seat does not do one iota in that regard.   I much prefer people who "keep their eyes on the road" and I do not need eye contact to hear what they are saying. So,  what can they do to improve?   Why do you need windows on the roof of the copter?   Get rid of them.   Put a volume control on the headsets so people can save their ears from the loud music and narration.     My wife loved the tour and says anyone going should do a tour to get the lay of the land before doing anything else.   As far as myself,  I am never going on a copter tour again.

Awesome; our pilot Adam was great to talk to (both for knowledge of the area and as a fellow pilot) and the flight was enjoyable!

I am a local resident and I have to say that this whole experience was incredible! Adam was our pilot and did a fantastic job of showing us all around the island of Oahu. I felt so safe and comfortable in the helicopter and the flight was so smooth that I actually forgot we were flying at certain points. The views were spectacular - definitely took my breath away! Seeing Sacred Falls and the aerial view of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor were definitely some of the highlights for me. I highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters to both tourists and locals!

Took a helicopter tour of Oahu.  Amazing!!! Amazing!!!! Amazing!!!   All I can say is if you ever get the chance to see Oahu by helicopter,  you will be blown away at how amazingly beautiful it is. Our pilot Loren was great.  He kept us informed and showed us all the highlights of the island.  Took time to make sure we could get pictures at all angles.  The music On the headsets made the trip even more relaxing and enjoyable!!!  Loved it. Was amazing.

I took a tour here a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely stunning tour! Worth every penny. They even picked me up at my hotel in Waikiki and brought me back afterwards.

I didn't like that I wasn't right next to the window so I could see everything, but other than the random seat assignments, it was awesome! They even made up for the seat by giving me a free dvd of the ride!!!

Great experience, a must if you are in Kauai.  Our pilot (Scott- who used to fly Apache helicopters) was excellent and provided us with a wonderful tour of the island and major waterfalls and sights.  We felt safe, had fun, and got to take great photos.

Most amazing thing I have done in Hawaii. Our pilot was super nice and very knowledgeable. More than worth the price. Waterfalls everywhere and a smooth ride. We were able to see The Jurassic Park waterfall and most of the coastline. The video turned out great, so we bought it.

Sightseeing in Kauai by helicopter is definitely worth doing, since much of the island is inaccessible by car.  We went to our hotel concierge to book Blue Hawaiian's 55 min tour.  It was the lowest cost out of 3 options at $220/pp, and included free T-shirt and Blue Ray DVD.  One other option was a doorless(!) chopper at higher cost, while the other makes a stop at waterfall, also at a higher cost.  I did do some reading ahead of time and wanted to pick the biggest-name, most reliable local helicopter operator so I was surprised Blue Hawaiian was also the lowest cost! GETTING THERE/LOGISTICS The helipad is at LIH and is easy to find by Google Maps.  Leave all backpacks, purses, and jackets in your car.  Wear dark-colored clothing to avoid reflections during picture taking. SAFETY BRIEFING They weigh everyone before assigning seats but they do it discreetly.  They also have an excellent safety briefing video and the staff here are all very nice! THE TOUR Our pilot, Greg, was a hoot!  He knew the geography inside-out and threw in some humor and facts about local Hawaiian culture.  We flew over many waterfalls, the Waimea canyon, Na Pali coast, and scenes where they filmed Raiders of Lost Ark, Jurassic Park/World, Avatar, and King Kong.  We flew near actress Julia Roberts former multi-million $$ house along with Mark Zuckerberg's $100MM place as well.  5-stars for pilot Greg. He did a good job of engaging all the passengers as we had a pretty quiet group. THE RIDE This is my third time on a chopper - once when going offshore in Gulf of Mexico for a field trip for work and the other in Alaska for dog sledding on a glacier.  On both those trips, it was a straight ride from Point A to B.  The EC-130 seats 7 people and had large windows and was a fairly smooth ride, but recall this is an aerial touring trip.  There may be some moments of jerkiness since the chopper makes turns to give everyone a good few, but luckily we didn't get too airsick.  If you do get airsick, maybe best to eat a light breakfast or some dramamine before the flight!

We had a really great experience with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. We felt safe and the ride wasn't too choppy or bumpy at all. The pilot was extremely nice and informative. I only wish we would have hovered by the "Jurassic" waterfall a little longer. I was looking forward to seeing it and I had read in past reviews that they got to see it up close. We only flew by it for a brief moment. Other than that I have no complaints. It was awesome and worth every penny!

By far one of the highlights of our trip was the Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour if the island.  It really is true that you can only see about 15% of the island by car/land.  The other 85% were views that we got from this amazing helicopter ride.  They were, in a word, breathtaking.   We booked this excursion through the concierge at our hotel so we've got no frame of reference on the booking process itself.  However, from the time we stepped into the offices at Blue Hawaiian, we were treated like family.  The staff at the front desk was kind, professional and helpful.  We were quickly checked in and given a brief tour of the offices.  They allowed us to go outside and view the tour before us take off.  We spoke to a very engaging gentleman who was extremely knowledgeable about the aircraft and definitely put my mind at ease.   After a short wait, we were introduced to our fellow passengers and watched a short movie that was about safety.  The staff was humorous, friendly and fun.  As cheesy as this sounds, we really felt like we were among friends there.  It was more like a party atmosphere than a business - and I'm saying that in a good way, not a bad one! The star of the show - the actual helicopter ride.  We were fortunate enough to have Joffe (I'm certain I'm not spelling that correctly) as our pilot.  He was outstanding!  His experience spoke for itself and I was immediately put at complete ease knowing that we were in excellent and capable hands.  His knowledge of the island was second to none and he showed and told us many interesting and delightful tidbits that we would never have otherwise known.  He was considerate and gracious enough to do turns of the copter at virtually all high points of the trip so that guests on either side of the aircraft could get photos.   The copter itself is roomy, comfortable and surprisingly quiet.  The headphones and microphones were functioning, allowing us to easily communicate with both our pilot and fellow passengers.  We were allowed and even encouraged to ask questions, point out anything that we noticed and freely converse with each other. Upon arrival back at the offices, the staff was kind enough to take a picture of each of us (using our own cameras) in front of the helicopter.  The offices included a gift shop area with some lovely souvenirs - t-shirts, mugs, stuffed animals, keychains, etc., etc.  The bathroom facilities in the office are spotless and kept up very well. I would highly recommend Blue Hawaiian to anyone visiting Kauai.  They're a top of the class organization - from start to finish.  Mahalo!
