Did two trips with this people in Kuai & big island of Hawaii. Spectacular views, they take you so close to waterfalls, into valleys and near cliffs. On both trips we even had the chance to spot whales. Pilots tell you a lot. I actually learnt a lot from this experiences. Thank you pilot Greg from Kuai & pilot Jason from big island. They're also very safety cautious. At the end of the day they give you a video of your whole trip as their helicopters are fitted with cameras that record your trip plus your conversation with pilot. Too good & excellent service also from their ground stuff.
This is definitely a MUST on the island! Geoffrey was the best pilot ;)
Simply breathtaking - Amazing ! Indeed the Cadillac of helicopters by FAR .. Money well spent .
Enjoyed seeing God's wonderful creation from the air! What magnificent beauty, breathtaking views of Kauai!! Awesome ride and Brody was a great pilot and tour guide. Couldn't have asked for a more perfect day, no winds and only few clouds!! Higly recommend!
Awesome! Up and close to the falls!
Excellent tour of the big island. We will certainly do this again!
Omg ! The helicopter ride was the best part of our trip ! Miguel was the best pilot ... A nice, smooth ride. Highly recommend Blue Hawaiian helicopters .
Quiet & roomy helicopters. Impeccable service and an unforgettable tour of Kauai. A big "Mahalo!" to our pilot, Joffrey, who was very friendly and knowledgeable.
"This experience was one that our family will not forget!! Special shout out to our pilot Barrett!!! He was superb! Thanks Blue Hawaiian Helicopters for the memories.
Awesome, value for money, the very best way to see Hawaii!!!!!
So what your tour booking agency doesn't tell you in advance (something that Blue Hawaiian should be 100% responsible for making sure they disclose NO MATTER WHAT) is that these helicopters are 6 seaters and thus more subject to weigh distribution requirements and therefore your view might be minimal if you are sitting in the back 2 middle seats yet you have to pay the same as everyone else-you get no choice in the matter. The other 4 seats are 2 in the front next to pilot (great views!) and 2 in the back but directly at the windows for pretty good views. Guess where I was stuck? With a limited view in one of the 2 back middle seats-total bummer-I got to see a lot of close ups of other people's heads. At least when I did the volcano tour on the Big Island about a decade or so ago while the helicopter ride was, yes, a bit bumpier at that time due to the state of the technology, at least the helicopter only held 4 riders plus the pilot so all the views were at least pretty good. Thus, in conclusion, they should at least offer a back middle seat discount in the event you get stuck there.
This is something we knew we had to do on our vacation to the big island of Hawaii. My family of 4 (hubs, 16 yo daughter, 11 yo son and myself) went on the 7:00 am tour on Christmas morning. This meant we had to be there at 6:15 am. The ladies in the office were so sweet and helpful, especially for being there so early on Christmas! Our pilot was Tom. Not only was he funny, he was a wealth of information about the island. He was patient and took the time to make sure to maneuver the helicopter so everyone had the perfect vantage points of the lava and waterfalls. He also tried to find a whale or two, which he did! This was the perfect tour and really made our trip worthwhile! My hubs and I went on a helicopter tour in Kauai with another company in 2010. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, it was so turbulent! I was pleasantly surprised the only turbulence on this flight on Christmas was leaving the canyon of waterfalls (totally expected)!
Did not know that helicopter tour of the volcano needs advanced reservations - still the good folks at Blue Hawaiian Helicopters found us some spots and the experience was worth every cent. The ground staff is very friendly, the pilot was awesome - he was ready to answer all questions and all those tidbits of information made the trip an unforgettable one. Live lava flow was icing on the cake !!!
We researched a number of different helicopter tours on Kauai before settling on Blue Hawaiian. The safety record is top notch and the staff are very professional. The enclosed helicopters seat 6 passengers - 2 in the front next to the pilot and 4 in the back. You don't get to pick your seat since they are assigned once you arrive (based on weight), but you should get to sit next to your partner. Even in the back you have a nice view, so don't fret! The ride is cushy with Bose noise canceling headphones and comfortable seats. Music plays in the background and then mutes when the pilot comments about the scenery. The whole tour is available afterwards to purchase on DVD if you decide you just want to enjoy the tour without taking pictures during the flight. We did the 55 minute ECO adventure tour which was great. I was a little disappointed when I found out my husband paid full price since there are lots of coupons once you arrive in Kauai (and potentially online but I didn't check) for $60+ off per couple.
I hate heights. But this company has a really good reputation and I'm glad I went on it. The staff are really professional and know the island well. The helicopter captain kept saying that he had stars like Harrison Ford and Charlize Theron in his helicopter.. I thought that was unnecessary information. But nonetheless, he showed us really great views of the island. I wish I took more pictures! And yes, it is expensive, but believe me it's worth it especially for Kauai since most the island can't be seen by car/tour bus.
