This is a must do!! We got to see nearly the entire island and our pilot Eric was very knowledgeable about the island and gave us many tidbits of history. We got to see the active volcano and the lave shooting into the ocean which was amazing! Once we got in the side where Hilo is we saw 14 Humpback whales which was a record Eric said as it's rare to see more than 1 or 2 if you see any at all. You can also purchase a DVD of your trip as well which we did. Would definitely do it again!!

This was my first time on a helicopter and it certainly did not disappoint! We were first treated to the sight of a fleet of helicopters landing (from the previous group) and it was amazing! Then we were grouped, and escorted to our helicopters. You'll be asked to weigh yourself, and someone will allocate seats to you, probably to balance out the weight on the helicopter. There are 2 rows, and 6 people in each helicopter, with the pilot in front on the left. I sat in the 2nd row next to the window and the view was breathtaking. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. Waterfalls, valleys, oceans, natural gas, volcanoes, you name it! We even saw whales which was a bonus!!! The pilot Greg was so nice and he engaged all of us in conversation. His manoeuvring skills in the air were so good, but I got a bit nauseous, so don't eat a big breakfast in the morning and take the relevant pills before you go on! They do have throw up bags on board. The after service was also great. Your flight will be recorded with sound included, and we bought one, and they shipped it all the way to us in Singapore. It's a once in a lifetime experience and I definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian. Pack light as lockers will be provided to store all your belongings. And wear DARK COLOURED clothes, so that when you're taking pictures out of the helicopter, the reflection wouldn't be so bad.

No better way to get a sense of scale than from the birds eye-view. Great moment over the lava flow and the crater. Fantastic and would recommend to anyone visiting the Islands.
