Wow what a fantastic experience! My first time in a helicopter and although I felt very nervous Julie was so calm and confident as our pilot it wasn't long before I could enjoy all the magnificent scenery of this beautiful island. I particularly think it is helpful to get an overview of what is on offer before you start out booking tours on the ground. To see Pearl Harbour from above certainly puts everything in perspective when you do the tour of the monuments. It just adds another dimension to all your up coming experiences. Go for it!

We were only on Oahu for three days, so in order to see as much as possible in that time, we decided quickly to do a helicopter tour. After a bit of research, we quickly decided on Blue Hawaiian for all three of our trips (Oahu, Maui and the Big Island). Our pilot, Loren (hooah!), was terrific as he smoothly piloted the chopper through some unusually high winds that day. We got a great overview of most of the island (the tour does not cover the west side of the island) and saw a lot of cool things you simply cannot see from ground level. We had a blast, and I was very happy that we chose Blue Hawaiian for our helicopter tours.

Our pilot Brant was great. We did the volcanoes and waterfalls trip and we were not disappointed. Great views of the island, lava and waterfalls. Brant dd a great job as our tour guide on our 1 hour flight. Seeing the lava fall into the ocean was a once in a lifetime experience!

We wanted to take a helicopter trip to properly see Kauai. As we had previously done a Big Island flight with them, we were pleased when our hotel suggested them. The trip was well-organised, (although it felt like a lot of hanging around beforehand!). Staff were friendly and helpful, giving a briefing and making sure everyone was good to go. Our pilot, Scott Gee was great, telling us about the island as we went over. It really was stunning, despite the weather not being the best conditions, with rain and low cloud. The sun came out at times and really showed the beauty of the island. Not cheap, but well worth it.

Fun ride! Colleen was a great and informative guide/pilot. Just wish we could have gotten a little closer and lingered a little longer at the falls and the volcano. Otherwise it was awesome!!!

Greg the pilot was very knowledgeable about the area. He was very concerned about the comfort of his passengers. Would highly recommend.

Greg was fantastic! Smooth flight, and very informative and conversational. The ground crew was also efficient, friendly and informative.

The pilot was knowledgeable and welcomed questions. The air was calm and the pilot worked around the steam so that every one could see the lava as best as possible. Smooth transitions on all turns and takeoff/landing so there was little to no motion sickness. Thank you very much!

What a fabulous experience we had seeing Kilauea volcano & several waterfalls on our tour with Blue Hawaiian's sister company, Hawaiian Helicopters. The aircraft used is the A-Star, which seats 6 people in close quarters. The price for this tour is more economical because this craft doesn't have as much glass as the Eco-Star helicopter used by Blue Hawaiian. For safety reasons there are no preassigned seats. Weight distribution determines who gets what seat. So we were a little nervous about how obstructed our view would be. My husband had a middle seat in the back (2nd) row. I had a window seat in the back. Both had excellent views. Each passenger is given a head set so everyone can clearly hear the pilot's informative presentation. Our pilot, Ethan, was skilled in flying the helicopter, making smooth maneuvers so everyone got a good look at the scenery. He let all of us know that he would circle first one way, then the other, so passengers on both sides of the aircraft could see & get photos. He inquired if anyone felt motion sickness in the turns before continuing to circle and he asked if we had gotten our pictures before heading to the next location. Ethan was engaging and interactive. He showed us how to use the microphones & encouraged questions from adults & children alike. The headphones not only facilitated understanding conversation, they also blocked the noise from the chopper. The music playing in the background enhanced the drama of what we were seeing. After 45 minutes Ethan landed the helicopter so smoothly we hardly felt touch down. We also would like to recognize two ticket counter employees Tyrell and Ranston. Both were friendly and helpful. Blue Hawaiian and Hawaiian Helicopters' ticket counter is located in Lobby 2 (Sign says "Air Tours") of the main terminal building. We flew with Scott on the "Fire and Waterfalls" tour in Hilo! He was a great pilot and very knowledgeable he answered all our questions with gusto! It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the lava flow both in the crater and flowing into the ocean! The entire staff at Blue Hawaiian is very friendly and truly wants you to have an amazing experience! I live on Maui and would fly with them on every helicopter tour in the future! Thanks again Scott for an awesome tour!!

Great flight and an awesome pilot! We flew with my parents and kids. All ages enjoyed this ride. No motion sickness issues at all. Totally worth the money! Must do!

We have had a helicopter tour on our bucket list for years. Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tour did not dissapoint, a perfect day for all of us. We took the helicopter tour on Maui and we were so impressed with the incredible tour of Maui we took a tour on the big island of Hawaii. Another fantastic tour of the islands of Hawaii. The day was perfect for seeing the Volcaino, the red fire glowing was breath taking. Our pilot circled the Volcaino 8-10 time so we could get a good look and get amazing photos. We followed the lava to the water and again had amazing views of mouton lave spewing into the ocean. What an amazing ride, beautiful waterfalls and lush rainforest added to the best tour in our life. Just GO.

An excellent way to see the island. Fun, professional, informative. We loved our pilot, Brian. Both skilled and personable. All the staff is wonderful. Just a great experience!
