Spectacular tour! I am afraid of heights and don't like riding in small planes but this was a totally different experience. Don't let fear keep you from taking this tour! Loved seeing the crater of the old volcano and all the waterfalls. Na Pali coast was unbelievable. We were really lucky to have Barrett, a Kauai native as our pilot. The whole experience, from start to finish, was incredibly well-organized. Way to go, Blue Hawaiian!

This is the best thing you will do in your life. It is expensive but so worth it.  Our pilot Eli was amazing.  He is very thorough and safe but is also a great communicator with a sense of humor.   The ride across the island was enjoyable but when we got to the volcano there are no words to describe it. You cannot see this from a boat or walking.  We hiked to the volcano earlier and thought that was cool but it was nothing compared to sitting in an air conditioned helicopter with a naturalist guide pilot who is able to tell you about the geological aspects as well a the many sacred stories associated with the volcano. After the volcano we made a trip across the island to land at a waterfall.  Before the waterfall we swung out over the Waipio Valley where we had to keep a respectful distance but learned a lot about the history of King Kamehameha's home from Eli.   The waterfall is fantastic.  He lands on a tiny little lawn and you get out to walk around a huge waterfall .  It is beautiful and beyond words.  Once we left the waterfall we flew over some more valleys and Eli hovered our helicopter over a World War Two bomber wreck that had crashed there during the war.  It was interesting to learn about the crew that got lost during the war leaving out of Hilo.  We felt pretty good after Eli told us that his helicopter has a lot better equipment than they had during World War Two.  The worse part of the trip was when he pointed out the heliport and we realized that our trip was coming to an end.  I really wanted to go around again. If you don't do anything else on this island this should be it.  It is awesome!

As a family of seven with very young children, We booked a three hour tour of the big island with Blue Hawaiian. Our pilot, Go, was awesome! Not only did he give us terrific information on the volcanic formations and beautiful valleys and waterfalls on the rainy side of the island, he showed us a humpback whale and got us up close and personal with all the highlights of the tour. His flying was exceptional - didn't even wake the baby! I would definitely recommend this tour as a highlight of a visit to the Big Island.

Excellent pilot. Friendly, engaging, knowledgeable, helpful. He ensured all parties were given a good view of the scenic areas from both sides of the helicopter. The music suited the various environments we viewed during the flight. Spectacular scenery around the volcanoes and the waterfalls, the coastal areas, and inland. Highly recommend Blue Hawaiian for a unique view of the Big Island.

THE STAFF WAS GREAT AND THE RIDE WAS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! THEY ACCOMODATED OUR 9 AND 3 YEAR OLD. EVERYONE HAD A GREAT TIME. BETH WAS A GREAT PILOT AND GUIDE AROUND THE ISLAND.
