As many times we've been to Kauai, this is the first time we've bitten the bullet and taken a helicopter ride. Now, I'm thinking of all I missed by NOT doing this earlier. We had a wonderful experience, and it was well worth the money. Weather is always unpredictable in the islands, and Kauai may be the toughest place to predict it. It seems that mornings are your best bet for a sunny ride. Showers often build up in the mountains around noon. We researched the various helicopter companies and chose Blue Hawaii primarily based on reviews. We were very pleased with the company and their customer service attitude. Our pilot did a great job of flying, narrating, and even operating the four onboard video cameras. Since Kauai is a relatively small island, we were able to see all of it in our one hour ride. We opted to spend the extra $40 for the video of the trip. It was well worth it. They even put music on it for the times the pilot wasn't talking. I know this is a relatively expensive experience, but you can save some money by booking your trip on the web in advance. We've decided we will do this every time we visit Kauai.

Fantastic tour and our pilot was great. Do not recall his name but he gave everyone on the helicopter a good view. The volcano was my main reason for going but loved seeing the waterfalls and rain forest also. Everyone at Blue Hawaiian was friendly and helpful. It met one of my bucket list items.

Tim was amazing! We had a great time, and can't wait to share the pictures of the lava flows and waterfalls. What a great trip!

The tour was terrific, and Brody far exceeded expectations. His running commentary that appeared so spontaneous, authentic and sincere was as extraordinary as what we were seeing. Thank you, Brody! You made Hawaii seem like (briefly) we were more than off-island tourists.

This was probably the most amazing experience we have ever had. To be able to go on a helicopter over an active volcano was just an incredible thing. Like no words. Our pilot Scott was very informative as well as entertaining. The ride was way smoother than I imagined as this was our first time being on a helicopter. Thank you for a great time!
