great flight Julie was great had so muchfun

Flight was good, but the waiting after was not

We had a great experience with our pilot Scotty G. This is a must do if you are visiting Kauia. What spectacular views.

I wanted to do a helicopter tour so bad but the cost kept me from making the reservation until the last minute. I went with Blue Hawaiian and noticed they don't offer first class seating at a premium like some others do. The reason is they have a computer program dictate who sits were depending on your weight and the weight of the other passengers which makes sense. We had a 9:30 am departure and were told to be there at 8:45 for check in. Rather early for us. They offer pick up/drop off from hotel too. We didn't take it but should of. We watched a short safety video before and got on our helicopter with pilot Julie. So cool they had 2 women flying that day. I asked Julie how long she had been a pilot and she had 13 years experience and it showed. I was lucky enough to get the seat next to her. Probably because I was the smallest one on the plane. She can't have anyone encroaching on her space. I've never sat so still in my life. She gave us a lot of commentary and we were aloud to ask questions at a certain point. It was just beautiful. I can see how things could get backed up so if them running late may be an issue for you, book an early flight. I was so happy I decided to spend the money on it. It is worth it. Especially, because who knows if/when we will ever get the chance to come back to Hawaii. We also bought the USB that has our trip with the cool music that was played throughout the flight. Thanks Julie!

Absolutely awesome experience. Amazing to see real lava flows from above. Local Hawaiian (lava-themed) music really tops it off. Our pilot Wesley was also really friendly and gave a lot of good information along the way. Only downside is the checking-in procedure. It seemed a bit messy/unorganized and we had to wait about 15 minutes outside in the hot sun, which we hadn't anticipated on.

We thought it was a spectacular experience, seeing a volcano up close. The lava was flowing making the experience memorable. We also enjoyed the waterfalls and landscape. Our pilot was Sean, very knowledgeable of the area and genealogy of the volcano.

The helicopter flight was well presented in perfect weather flown by Wes who was an excellent pilot. Wes's commentary was informative and encouraged interaction from the passengers plus the music and Bose headsets were an added bonus. A great flight Margaret and Graham Barron
