Simply Amazing!!!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

What an adventure! From the moment we stepped onto the aircraft, the show began! Out pilot, Tom, was funny & informative. He interacted with each passenger & even remembered all of our names. Tom spoke Japanese to the couple who spoke very little English. We had an amazing flight filled with a surprise lava eruption out of the vent. Tom said he had not seen that much lava flow in 10+ years. As we traveled down to the coast to see the big island gaining land mass by the moment, more lava was flowing! One more fly by the vent, then off to see the waterfalls and beautiful canyons. It was like being in a movie. And with Tom's skilled flying abilities, you rarely felt a bump. We were greeted once safely back on the ground by the staff and given a cool & refreshing towel to wipe the amazement off our faces! Kudos to Tom for a great trip--can't wait to come back!!!

Best scenery ever!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

My 11 year old granddaughter and I went on on one of their big helicopters (expensive but worth it) and saw lava in the Kileaua crater and lava flowing into the ocean. The pilot, Shane, was wonderful and we had many opportunities to get photos. He provided descriptions and history as we rode. He was great with my granddaughter - she got to be the "co-pilot" and pushed a few buttons when he told her to. I have lived in Hawaii, have been on a helicopter ride over Ohau, and have traveled to other islands, but this was THE most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. I think it was called Waimanu Valley on the north shore. Very good service for ticketing, safety procedures, and storing valuables. The CD of our trip was great, too.

Amazing way to see the Big Island!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We booked the 2 hour tout and it was well worth the price. Our pilot was great and extremely knowledgable. The helicopter was spacious and modern. There really isn't a bad seat on these tours. We saw 3 different areas of the island, including active lava dripping into the ocean. Besides the volcano and active lava, we saw huge waterfalls and miles of beautiful coast. We also flew into lush green areas that was just like those scenes from Jurassic Park, I cannot describe what an awesome experience this was!

While on vacation my son and I wanted to take a helicopter ride. The pilot was friendly and knowledgable. It was a spacious inside and every chair had a good view. The views were beautiful and I recommend everyone take a helicopter ride while visiting Hawaiia.

Big Island Spectacular
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

This was a great experience. Ground personnel were all very helpful. Ecostar is a fabulous helicopter. The views of the lava and the waterfalls did not disappoint. Our pilot, Tom, was a professional as well as being very engaging. Highly reccomended.

This tour was AMAZING!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Our Blue Hawaiian "Big Island Spectacular" helicopter tour was just that: spectacular. My husband and I were apprehensive at first--neither of us had ever flown in a helicopter before. However, our minds were put at ease by our experienced pilot, Toshi. Toshi was awesome--funny, informative, and excellent at what he does. We have traveled extensively, and this was the best tour we have ever experienced. We saw volcanic activity (the lava tube is closed, so it doesn't look like the crazy pictures of spewing lava--but hey, it's LAVA), the lush cliffs of Hilo and the Kohala Mountains, and 2,000+ ft. waterfalls. My one recommendation is, if you're at all motion sensitive, to take a half or full Dramamine. The last thing you want is to be distracted with anxiety about maybe not feeling well, even though it is a pretty smooth ride, all in all. Also, splurge on the Ecostar. It's worth it! Better views with larger windows--and it's spacious. What a beautiful place to see, and even the locals say it: There's no better way to see the island than from a bird's eye view. Maholo, Blue Hawaiian!

Expensive but something you have to do once!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Well first day our tour was cancelled due to weather but we rebooked it. We took the tour of the volcano and over the lush green tropical valleys. Wow what a view , a lot of very interesting facts of the island and understanding their eco system etc. Our pilot Noah really nice guy, could of been a little more enthusiastic but overall a great experience. I did my research and Blue Hawaiian is deff one of the more reputable FYI

Awesome Experience!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

From the reservations to the flight, this was a smooth and easy experience. Like a well-oiled machine, the staff was helpful and informative and treated each passenger respectfully and with a great attitude. The flight itself was spectacular! Our pilot, Ethan, is a native Hawaiian and had so much information about the area and answered all of our questions thoughtfully and professionally. He made sure we all had views of lava flows, waterfalls, and everything else and kept up an informative dialogue about what we were flying over and facts about the island itself. I rode in the Eco-Star helicopter and it was comfortable and spacious. I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in a helicopter tour.

Bucket List Experience
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Took Big Island Spectacular flight with Tom. We were lucky to have a very clear day and were rewarded with active lava inside the volcano caldron as well as a couple of active lava flows. Flight along cliffs and inside the valley was breathtaking.

Great experience
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We went on the 50 minute trip to the waterfalls, coastline and valleys which we found to be very scenic. Our pilot was Toshi and he had a great sense of humour and was very informative with lots of interaction with the 6 of us. The induction before the flight made us at ease. We would definitely try the longer volcano flight with Blue Hawaiian if we return.

best activity on big island!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

It was my first helicopter flight and I really enjoyed it. I felt every time safe and in a good hand. The pilot did a great job, brought us to the volcano, spectacular lava fields and and waterfalls and explained everything very good. To my surprise the weather conditions don't play any role. We had a mix of sunshine, clouds and slight rain - but you could see everything and everytime.

Check this off the bucket list
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

The helicopter tour was great. We could ask questions of Kimo, our pilot, while he took us around the highlights of Volcanoes National Park and various waterfall. Kimo made sure we all had equal views by maneuvering the helicopter. The entire staff is very professional and the operation is well run. It is expensive but it is a once in a lifetime tour.

Excellent!!!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We did the 1 hour flight over the vulcanic activity and it was excellent. Great views from the helicopter, even from the seats in the middle of the back row. If you book through Expedia you get a free t-shirt and their general DVD, but since we already flew with Blue Hawaiian on Kauai and we already got that DVD there, we received the inflight DVD (actual recording of your flight using the 4 camera on/in the helicopter) for free (normally $25). We choose to drive from Waikoloa to Hilo for this flight. You can also fly from Waikoloa, but either you only see the north side of the island (vulcanic activity is on the south side) or you see the entire island but for double the price. We only wanted to see the vulcanic activity.

Helicopter hype
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

My wife and I booked a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour of the Big Island's lava flows and waterfalls for 21 June. The safety briefing was, as expected, thorough, and after 40-or-so minutes we waited at the 'flight line' in weather that was turning increasingly murky. At last we were told that our flight would have to be cancelled, but we were able to book on another flight that afternoon, something we had not believed would be possible. So far so good: Blue Hawaiian can't control the weather, and was flexible enough to re-book us (and another group) onto another flight. After sitting through the mandatory safety briefing (again ... sigh ...) we finally made it to a machine, and had great seats - at the front - able to see the rain-drop-spattered windscreen. (Again, no faulting Blue Hawaiian: see observation about weather, above.) We had a newish but experienced and competent pilot, John, and he did well. We enjoyed the flight and were able to see some lava flows (which my wife had specifically wanted to come to Hawaii to see). The rain began again and prevented us from seeing the waterfalls, because the mountain was covered in thick cloud. The point I want to make is that the only visible lava flow we saw had been reported only earlier that afternoon. If it hadn't been for this all we would have seen was some steam coming off lava meeting the ocean. Of course tour operators can't control natural phenomenon, but they hype the tour using images of impressive lava flows in brilliant sunshine. It isn't always like that, and you, like us, may have to be philosophical. This isn't a complaint against Blue Hawaiian, just a reminder to be prepared for disappointment. Oh, but Blue Hawaiian should be commended for apparently having facilities to take wheelchair users aboard - well done!

Great ride and commentary
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

The trip over the lava fields, on out to the ocean and then to the waterfalls was enhanced by Ethan's informative and interesting commentary. I would definitely recommend taking this trip for the unforgettable views of this amazing island.
