Brody We took a helicopter tour when we were here in 1986 and it was the highlight of our vacation. The tour with you was once again the highlight. WOW, incredible, amazing to see the lave flowing into the ocean and the vent, the waterfalls were beautiful. Carl was fantastic,so much fun and knowledgeable.

Our tour guide Carl was very interactive, offering numerous tips and anecdotes that added to the experience. We went to several exciting areas and he made sure that everyone had a view of the terrain. It was overall an amazing experience!

I'll preface my review by saying that I very rarely book excursions. I prefer to explore without tour operators. I made an exception for a Big Island helicopter tour because I really wanted to see lava. Unfortunately there was very small lava flow going into the ocean, which was cool, but not what I was hoping to see. There was no other lava flow happening on the island at all. If you don't see amazing views of lava, then this helicopter tour is too expensive! However, if you are absolutely set on doing a helicopter tour, then blue Hawaiian is a good operator. They can't control the weather and lava flow! But they are friendly and professional. Our pilot was Patrick, and he was funny, professional, and experienced. The ground crew was great. Helicopters are spotless clean and safe. They offer a really great video of your trip for purchase for only $40. I've seen videos like that and operators charge $100 and people pay it, so $40 is pretty good, and the video is well done.
