Wow factor big time
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Picked up from resort and mobility catered for in such a kind way, that I didn't feel different. Saw heaps, and what a remarkable helicopter pilot we had. He was awesome. A great experience and can't wait to receive dvd.

What a view
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We ran into a little rain, but the pilot took it like a pro. The view was great, unfortunately the volcano wasn't doing much. We took the quieter helicopter, but it was still loud with the headphones on. Not much you can do about that! The waterfalls weren't much to look at, but it was interesting to see the macadamia fields. Loved that our pilot had some history of the volcanoes.

Better than expected, awesome
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

I was very hesitant to shell out the bucks to do the full island tour from Blue Hawaiin Helicopters base from the Waikaloa heliport. This trip is not cheap, with taxes and fuel surcharges this tour for my wife and I wound up just under $1,100.00. When we got off the chopper at the end of the trip, the first thing I said was "That was worth every penny". We had driven to Volcanoes National Park on Monday so we knew that there was no significant lava flowing but decided to do the trip anyway. Our pilot, Toshi, was very informative and made it a true inter-active experience. We flew directly over the Army base and got to see a BlackHawk getting ready for take off. We got really close to the main crater and could seeing the lava bubbling and the cracks of flowing lava in the crater floor. We were then taken to the vent of the most recent flow and there were several spots active is this area. Toshi then told us the best was yet to come. We where then wisked away to the coastline to see numerous waterfalls coming off of the cliffs into the ocean followed by several low level passes into gigantic canyons where the waterfalls just took your breath away. At one point we were about 200 feet (estimating) above the tree tops when we entered the next canyon. As we went over the canyon wall the ground literally disappeared under our feet to a depth that honestly shook me a bit. It was really a moment where you fely weightless. I would say this was one of the top highlights of our ten day stay, and we bought the video of our own trip which they record as you fly. This is definitely a must do while on the big island. Even without the major lava flow is was amazing.

Best part of our trip to the Big Island
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Although not cheap this is the best way to see the Big Island. Very professional, go early on the 7am flight to avoid clouds. Our pilot Shane was very good pilot and guide. You can get a video of your actual flight. Highly recommend this.

Best Money Spent!!!
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Best money spent so far on island other than getting here. Tom was our pilot and he was a great host with lots of personality. We took the big island tour and it was worth every penny. Seeing the volcano from above was incredible but it was nothing compared to exploring the coastline, valley and waterfalls - which were AMAZING. Thank you Blue Hawaiian Helicopters for an experience of a lifetime!

Great Company, Volcano Did Not Cooperate
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

Let me say from the start, Blue Hawaiian is a class act. Very professional, with great emphasis on safety and customer satisfaction. We booked 2 helicopter tours, this one, and one in Kauai. We found an online price, but booked by phone, and they honored the online price. Then we asked if there was a discount for booking multiple tours, and they came down even more on the price, but you need to ask. They don’t offer it on their own. We give would give Blue Hawaiian 5 stars, however, this tour right now gets 4 stars. We should have done our homework on this one. Unfortunately when we went in mid January, there weren’t any visible active eruptions at the volcano. Everything is pretty much underground at the present time. So, the “Ring of Fire” was a lot more impressive in their ads than it was in person. We saw the black lava fields, which was in itself very impressive, areas where the lava flowed out to sea, and areas where vegetation is now sprouting up in the lava fields. Lots and lots of black lava! We saw smoke from the Pu’uO’o vent, and small areas where the lava flow underground was burning trees and bushes, but nothing like the orange spewing hot lava from the website. We also flew near the Kilauea crater, but saw no active lava flows. Depending on weather and wind direction, you also may not be allowed to fly close enough to see anything dramatic. They are not allowed to fly directly over an active volcano. Sounds like there was a little more activity a week after we had the tour. It’s hard because you book these tours in advance, but this tour really depends on current volcanic activity. So you may or may not have an exciting tour. The waterfalls are also viewed pretty far up. It was pretty, but again not what they show on the website. Take a look at the pictures posted on Trip Advisor, and you will get a more realistic idea of what you will actually see at the present time. Also go to http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/cams These are webcams showing current activity in the active areas. We have taken other helicopter tours with Blue Hawaiian and have been estatic with the views. The one in Kauai will take your breath away, and the one for Maui/Molokai is also incredible. Again, we were very happy with Blue Hawaiian. The tour itself was just not as exciting as we had hoped. It is definitely in the hands of Mother Nature!

Highlight of our Big Island trip
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

My wife and I just returned from our first trip to the Big Island. We had an awesome time exploring the island. But the highlight of our trip was our Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour out of Hilo on 2/24/14. It was absolutely amazing. Tim was a great pilot. Very informative. The ability to ask questions and converse during our ride was fantastic. Tim was knowledgable on volcanic history and activity on the island, had a great sense of humor, and you could tell he really had a sense of pride in the island and his ability to help us "see it". He had a way of personalizing the trip that made it very special. We gladly recommend Blue Hawaiian to anyone coming to the Big Island. We will be returning to Hawaii and exploring the other islands. When we do a Blue Hawaiian trip will be part of it. Last thing, get the DVD of the trip. Great actual footage of your trip WITH all the audio (conversations, questions/answers with the pilot and the rest of the musical "soundtrack" you get through the head set on the trip). An incredible memory and keep sake. Great job Tim and Blue Hawaiian and thanks again.

Amazing Ride!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

The pilot, Tim, was really nice and very informative. He made the ride interesting and entertaining, and he made loops so that everyone could see all of the views. The ride itself was incredibly beautiful.

Awesome trip!
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip! Staff was friendly, the pilot was knowledgeable about the area and showing us different places. It was a bit hazy and cloudy but we still had good views. The equipment was great, everyone could see. We took the Eco- star which is a little more expensive but worth it. You can get a video of your trip for $25 which seemed pretty reasonable! Awesome!

Amazing air experience
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We traveled to the Big Island in mid-February and highly recommend booking a Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour - the highlight of which is an amazing aerial view of otherwise inaccessible volcanic activity - so incredible to see the destructive nature of lava and the birth of new land. Our pilot on the afternoon of Feb 19th was excellent - he was knowledgeable, friendly and played some fitting tunes. The only tune missing was the theme from Air Wolf, which our pilot likes, but forgot to bring with him. =P The ability to interact with the pilot (and other passengers) and ask questions during the flight was an added bonus, as was the cold compress towel upon our return (so thoughtful). A definite must do for anyone traveling to the Big Island despite the cost.

Incredible
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

We used Blue Hawaiian Helicopters to get a tour of the volcano and waterfalls. The views were breathtaking. We flew over the active lava field where the lava is flowing and trees are still burning. I couldn't believe the scale of how much lava there actually is. The only drawback (and a minor one) is that the waterfall part of the flight was a bit short. I felt very safe on the helicopter and would use Blue Hawaiian again.

Absolutely Fantastic
ビッグアイランド - ヒロ

First helicopter ride ever. It was wonderful. When can we go again? Our pilot was friendly and the ride was smooth. Thank you, Thank you for a great tour. Saw the volcano and falls. Even saw some humpback whales off shore, which the pilot pointed out. I am afraid of heights and have motion sickness and yet experienced neither of these. The ride was so soft and so smooth.

Really simple. Was excellent. Very comfortable, informative and fun. Whales everywhere. Spot on. We had the gentleman pilot who knew his stuff for sure. Would do it again without doubt.

Amazing
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

Trip was on time, pilot was excellent - very knowledgeable about the area. Flight wasn't long enough (I could have been up there all day!) but exactly as advertised and definitely worth doing.
