The pilot and ride itself was great and worth the $300+ dollars for the 45 minute ride in the Eco Star. We did not regret spending the big bucks to see the lava and eruption craters on the Big Island. Our pilot was professional and fun and had a great way about him. The behind-the-counter staff, on the other hand, was another story- Jennifer was officious and had a self asserting manner that bordered on being condescending. She is the first person on the island we have met who wasn't authentically friendly ( doubt she is a native Hawaiian.) We arrived more than 50 mins early (told to arrive 45 mins early so we were not late) so there was a discernible reason for the lack of a cheerful, unhurried greeting and check in. Jennifer wasn't just had a patronising way about her which made us feel unwelcome. She may have a misunderstanding of what good customer service entails but basically a kind, helpful nature makes people feel good. The Blue Hawaiian check in counter somehow felt like a DMV experience. The ground staff who lead us out did now know how to handle mistakes by the computer (we were told that children and parents were not separated and this was not our case.) The best customer service was the 800 number we called to make the reservation - those folks were genuinely helpful and friendly. Ironic that the in person customer service was sub par while the telephone experience was far better. Blue Hawaiian- I expected a top rate customer service experience not just from the ride and pilots but this was not the case. Hope you guys are able to better inform your ground staff.

Mark was our pilot for an hour and did he deliver! He made everyone feel at ease including our 11 and 7 year old. If you ever go on a heli ride, do it here. See the areas of Kauai that cannot be seen in any other way. Kauai is truly a beautiful island, let blue Hawaiian helicopters take care of you!!

Darren was a great pilot, great music soundtrack and excellent aerial tour of Pearl Harbor. Outstanding experience, and nobody barfed!

It was like the best! I loved the pilot. And I can't believe that we saw lava. (6 yrs old) Fantastic experience and great opportunity to see everything from both sides of the helicopter. Thank you!

A must-do in Hawaii Big Island. One of those adrenaline-filled fun adventures everyone should experience. Do it with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters who have a best fleet of helicopters and high safety rated. The pilot made the experience very interactive and fun. He was highly experienced and knowledgeable about the area and made the tour very informative.
