Amazing flight ! A lot of fun fact around the trip. about the movies (Jurrassic Park, Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Carribean0 the hikes, the other activities available on Kauai. Pretty smooth flying and loving your office ! All the best from Belgium ! Mahalo Greg ;)

We had a fairly large group (5 people) on the helicopter and everyone had a amazing time. Our pilot, Sean, made certain everyone got to see the best views of Kilauea as the lava entered the sea and when we flew over the active crater. He also planned out great background music to further add to the drama of what we were observing. On our way back to Hilo, he took us over several waterfalls and island features that helped make this trip even more memorable. This is definitely one of my favorite excursions of all time.

Our family of 4 went on this helicopter tour. It was breathtaking! I had very high expectations due to the cost of all the reviews I had read and was very happy with our experience. Flying over the volcano was fantastic, we saw the lava flowing into the ocean, but flying over Waimea Valley and seeing the incredible waterfalls was my favorite part! Words can not describe the peaceful beautiful sights we saw!! Go on this trip!!

It's after the too short walking on the allowed part of Kalalau trail that I decided to book the helicopter tour. The frustration was too strong, it wasn't possible to not see this incredible curiosity of the island, the Na pali cliffs ! If you want to do a flight, do it on this island, there's no words to describe the diversity of the landscapes. And even if you could pass 6 months to visit the island, the central part is not reachable, so only way to discover all : the sky. I follow the advice in the "ultimate Kaua'i guide book" to choose blue Hawaiian (an advice: buy this guide book at your arrival, if you have not, it is the best and was very precious all my stay). The welcome was a bit "industrial" if you see what I mean... The helicopters companies on Kaua'i seem to be THE touristic "industry" now. But this welcome was not bad, just professional , no problem. And the important is the flight... I was a bit afraid to not have the good place in the helicopter, I ' m a photographer and I forgot to ask when I booked, but it seems that they give you the place according your weight... And miracle ! I had the best (the number 4 , in case...) to take pictures... But its also a trap because you pass your time with the eyes on your camera to make pictures for memory and you forget the most important, the live show ! So try to do a mix ...To not have regrets. Our pilot was Greg, thanks to him, a great pilot, cool guy who showed us a maximum of things with great commentaries. The flight was really comfortable and the music of movies, made on the island, give a real emotion during the flight, it was surprising. But nothing can prepare you at what you'll see. This island is really specific, not lot of islands in the world have this diversity. And the Na 'pali coast...What to say... Just enjoy, enjoy enjoy your flight. And also the wettest place of the island in the center was very impressive and emotional: these greens, these virginal landscapes. So to conclude, if you have money to do it (or if you keep money to spend in something magical) book 1 hour tour. It's really printed in the memory for the rest of your life. And if I could do it, I will do it again and again...

Having ridden in a range of Helicopters (both civilian and military) over the last 30 years - the Blue Hawaiian Echo-Star is good quality with terrific viewing capacity and a very comfortable ride. The Kauai administrative staff and our pilot were terrific - no rush, good safety procedures, etc. The provision of an interactive video recording of our ride was good too - providing us with good memories. Advise passengers (male and female) not to wear bright colours (its very annoying when 'pink', 'red' and iridescent green fashion-ware...as trendy as these might be... reflect in the windows spoiling photos) - wear plain dark coloured clothing. Also advise, no matter how smooth the flight or competence of the pilot, do not to eat solids before flying if you are not a regular heli-flyer or suffer any form or motion sickness, or you eyes will be staring into the paper bag more often than out the windows and you will spoil the flight and video recording for others on your flight. I highly recommend the flight over Kauai for the whole family, it is a great way to get a full appreciation of the beauty of the island and yet leave a minimal footprint.
