pilots knowledge of island made trip very enjoyable

I had to be persuaded to do this but I am so glad I did. The ride was very smooth and the views are truly breathtaking. Pat was our pilot and he was very good - equal parts terrific pilot, knowledgeable tour guide, and soothing psychologist for nervous passengers. Although this first trip may have spoiled me for any/all future helicopter adventures, I would do this again for sure

We knew we wanted an aerial tour of Kauai when we were vacationing here.  After researching many options, we chose Blue Hawaiian.  I was a bit nervous when we arrived in the morning but followed the directions of dark clothes and limited gear, and popped some dramamine.  We got weighed and were told that they may have to split us up depending on the weight of the other passengers on our aircraft.   After a brief safety video and getting our safety gear on, we were led to the heliport.  I was seated next to our pilot, Scott H.  Our helicopter had 5 total passengers, but they could fit 6 I think. The person sitting to my right did not follow the dark clothes rule, which ruined many of my photos (thanks black and white checked pants!) which I had to highly edit. IOnce we were strapped in and had our noise cancelling headphones on, we were all set. We had a clear day so we could see beautiful vistas of the Waimea Canyon, the Jurassic Park Falls, and the Napali Coast.  There were times when Scott was deep in the canyons and we were a bit concerned if we were going to get out without hitting the canyon walls. It was a good 1 hour lesson on the island and the history.  Scott was a wonderful pilot (felt safe after learning he was Black Hawk trained) and we were able to get the photos of us with the helicopter once we landed.  We chose not to purchase the USB film of our flight. I thought our flight was great and I would highly recommend using them on this island as well as other islands for the helicopter tour.  I was also grateful for the dramamine as I did not have any issues with motion sickness.
