This was a great tour. Approximately 45 minutes. Our flight path was changed due to cloudy weather. We toured the west side of Maui to Molokai and the views were spectacular. The price is expensive but it was worth it. I would recommend the tour to everyone. It was a great experience.
They cancelled our flight over the volcano because of inclemete weather. However they offered us a 50 minute flight over the falls, which was good but we had hoped for a clear day for our original flight.
The views were amazing and the information provided by Rick (the great pilot/guide!) was so important to understand the history of Maui and Hawaii in general. The girls at the front desk and all the other employees were so helpfull during the whole experience. They even thought me how to tell my wife "I Love You" in Hawaiian "Aloha wau ia oe!". We will tour with Blue Hawaiian again! Thanks so much!
We took a 60 minute tour of Maui and it was amazing. Initially we were very skeptical due to the price and my wife is not a big fan of flying. We decided to go for it as a "once in a lifetime" experience and we were not disappointed. We booked a flight for first thing in the morning (8:00 am) were very fortunate that the weather was perfect - no fog and no winds. The helicopter ride was smooth and the pilot was very knowledgeable about everything Maui. The flight and view of Maui were spectacular and I would highly recommend this to everyone. I have traveled all over the world and this is definitely in my Top 5 list of things that I enjoyed.
My wife and I did the West Maui/Molokai tour and it was pretty good overall. Some nice views of the waterfalls on Molokai and great views of the mountains and the coast. The weather wasn't great but there were still nice views. Our Pilot was Glenda the good witch. She was great overall and pretty knowledgeable about everything around. The staff before the flight were pretty knowledgeable and friendly as well. The only reason that I gave this 3 stars was because of the price. At over $500 for the two of us, it didn't feel like it was really worth it. There are fun and memorable activities on Maui that last a lot longer and cost a lot less.
We have use Blue Hawaii before on other islands and found the Maui tour to be just as great. We chose the tour with a ranch stop and Champagne toast which was spectacular. Our pilot was extraordinary at describing the sights we we seeing. We had excellent weather and were able to really appreciate the Maui terrain. A must do tour.
Great time. No complaints here. Definitely a different perspective of the island. I've been to Maui 3 times and this has been the best adventure yet. My father in law bought the in flight video, which is just ok. The quality could be better. I think it's the salt air hazing up the camera lens. He thinks it's just poor quality. Whether you buy one or not, watch what you say because it's all recorded and put on the video, forever.
This was our first visit to Hawaii and there is so much to see and do. We thought this would be a great way to see areas we couldn't get to by car or by foot. We were not disappointed! Fantastic, unforgettable views. Tim, our pilot, was extremely knowledgeable about the history, flora and fauna. Well worth the money!
Big Bucks, but worth every penny! We spent more for the Hilo flight for 2 than the roundtrip airfare from Washington State. I would highly recommend the Maui spectacular -eco it was $770 total for 2 and the best part was landing and enjoying a bottle of champagne with amazing views of Wailea. Take offs and landings to me are the best part so thats why i recommend this flight. It is a bit more but its worth it for all the extras. You feel total safe with the pro's at Blue Hawaiian. The weather was going to be poor on the day that we booked so they gladly let us reschedule for the next day. Your Maui vacation will be memorable no matter what but make it amazing and see Hawaii the easy way. Great way to whale watch as well, we saw many
We took a trip with Blue Hawaiian to Molokai and West Maui. Although it is a bit expensive, it is worth every penny! It was the highlight of our trip. The itinerary took us over the most beautiful coastline. On the trip back we went right through the mountains on West Maui. Our trip lasted about 50 minutes. We were very impressed with BH. They are professional and very organized. They made it clear from the outset that safety was a priority. They contact you ahead of time to make sure you know when and where to show up. Everything went on time. Our helicopter (Eco-Star) was quiet (relatively) with lots of window area. Roomy (for a helicopter) and looked new. Our pilot, Justin, did a great job. A really nice guy who made a point of speaking to everyone on board and asking them where they were from, etc. He knew all of our names ahead of time. Told us some interesting things about the island. The music he played really added to the trip -- very relaxing and perfect for a "float" through the air. I was also impressed with his professionalism. I felt very comfortable with him (I was a bit nervous about flying but he put me immediately at ease.) All in all, I can highly recommend this company if you are looking for a helicopter excursion on Maui.
Second time on Blue Hawaiian Helicopters. Had to re-schedule due to weather (like they have any control) and their concern for safety. Instead of morning, got upgraded to the Eco and front seats for my first flight companion and I. Different route than booked, but awesome pilot Rick made up for it with breathtaking flight that included Molokai. Safe, comfortable, I think reasonable for the experience of seeing places only available from the air. The whole flight is on video for small additional price to have a portable memory of Maui and Molokai to share with others. Keep it up. We will be back.
I was treated to a ‘Complete Island’ tour of Maui for my birthday. We got an awesome view of Haleakala Crater, the lush rainforests and waterfalls of West Maui and Hana were breath-taking, and we visited places that are either inaccessible by foot or we otherwise wouldn’t get the opportunity to visit. Our pilot Glenda was lovely and knowledgeable. We had the ability to communicate with the pilot and others on-board the helicopter through a PA headphone system. It provided a great opportunity to ask questions about the areas we were flying over. You have the option of purchasing a DVD of your flight. This includes all the sites you flew over and shots of you linked to when you talk on the PA headphone system. There’s an opportunity to take photos in front of the helicopter after you land. Note: Wear dark clothing. Light clothing tends to get reflected in the windows which then show up in your photos.
Glenda was a fantastic pilot and tour guide. She has a wonderful calming demeanor and great knowledge of the island. We enjoyed her tour very much. It was the highlight of our week! We took the west Maui tour, and although it was the least expensive, it was still very worthwhile. The views were amazing. Next time we'll opt for a longer flight.
This was an expensive trip ($300 or so for an hour) but was well-worth it. The guide was great, the equipment first rate, the trip excellent and the experience fabulous. Highly recommended.
My wife and I had never been on a helicopter before going to Hawaii. Our good friends took a tour on Blue Hawaiian while we were there and highly recommended them! We decided to give Blue Hawaiian a try and we were glad we did! Glenda was our pilot and tour guide. Glenda has flown for Blue Hawaiian for over twenty years and was very knowlegable! First timers should have no fear as the flight is very smooth! Strongly recommend while on Maui!
