we did west maui and flew over the channel. The pilot and staff were great. the video we got was very poor quality, the sun reflected a lot, take your own videos as ours were way better than their copy

I have taken four helicopter flights now and this one stands head and shoulders above the others. The staff and welcome were just spot on, the pilot very well educated on the history of Maui and Molokia, there also wasn't the obvious "how can we extract as much money from people as possible!" which I have had from other heli tours. The inflight DVD was a reasonable $25 also. High recommended!!!

Blue Hawaiian Helicopters is a top notch helicopter tour company. The entire staff was very friendly. Our pilot was excellent and answered any and all questions tossed his way. The ground staff was excellent about taking pictures and ensuring everyone's safety. We toured the entire island in an Eco star heli. While our video of the tour is not HD quality, it is great to be able to watch and listen to our own personal tour. We also bought the National Geographic DVD which is a much better quality image, though it includes other islands.

The West Maui and Molokai trip was AMAZING!!! Very Beautiful. Mike, our pilot, was great and provided great information. Choosing the the "EcoStar" helicopter was definitely worth the money. Every one of our family of 4 had great views in all directions. Mike even spotted and showed us some great views of a Whale and it's new born baby whale. :) Mahalo to Blue Hawaiian Helicopters

We did the complete island tour. Our pilot, Emery, was attentive to all 6 passengers questions and was a wealth of historical knowledge. We were seated so that everyone on board, kids aged 7 & 10 included, could see clearly out at least one window. Safety briefing was understandable and didn't drag on forever. Then we were out to the helicopter. Be prepared, you take nothing but cameras & sunglasses with you, everything else stays behind. As one prone to motion sickness, I was told it would be fine, but in retrospect I would've enjoyed the flight far more with gravol on board LOL. The winds today likely contributed to that. The rainforest views of never ending waterfalls were breathtaking and hovering over breaching whales was spectacular. I'm glad we went, but won't be lining up again without my friend gravol :)

This is our second time flying Blue Hawaiian (first time was on Kauai). Their helicopters are smooth and quiet and their pilots are experienced and entertaining. three children (aged 5, 3, 1) came along for the flight (1yr is a lap child) and they loved every minute. They were able to use the microphone to ask questions to the pilot and to converse with mom/dad, etc. Top quality.

The staff had me and my husband a bit confused at first as we were booked for the Maui Spectacular but due to wind we would be doing the tour of West Maui and Molokai with an extra view of the Molokini crater. When they had us watch the pre flight video we were watching information on the helicopter we didn't book for. Thankfully they realized this and we ended up on the right one before lift off. The pilot and tour information was excellent and we enjoyed our tour very much. We didn't get our planned stop for refreshments but they ended up giving us a free DVD of our flight which helped make up for it. Although disappointed with the tour change because of weather, our day ended up being great.

Fabulous helicopter ride! Beautiful views of Maui and a great pilot! Our pilot was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the area. He also suggested other attractions to see while in Maui. It was neat to be able to purchase a DVD (which includes audio) of our personal helicopter ride as well for $25. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th year anniversary. Also, we had a lot of wind that day and I was surprised how well the helicopter handled. Very smooth and lots of fun. It's one of those things that I would recommend being on your bucket list! The whole staff was very friendly and made us feel safe and welcomed. Thanks for a memory of a lifetime!

My wife and I really enjoyed our recent experience on the Eco Star helecopter tour of north Maui and Molokai. Eric our pilot was amazing, and very well trained in the history and scenery of the islands. The cost had always held me back in past trips to Maui, but am I ever glad the I "bit the bullet" and made the reservation. The helicopter is a fabulous machine, and a big thank you to our pilot amid to all of the staff that put together these daily tours.

Another reviewer posted a comment "You get what you pay for" which is so true. We traveled with my brother-in-law and his wife and purchased the top tier tour (all of Maui) on the Eco-Star. It was expensive but worth it. I've been to Maui a couple times but this was my first helicopter tour. Wow. The Eco-Star gives the best views possible with practically 360 degrees in the front and very gracious views in the back because of raised seating. The guides are very good at turning around to give both sides of the helicopter the same views. It is encouraged to use the open mics to communicate throughout the ride. Our tour included a touch down on a ranch on the side of a mountain for pics, champagne/drinks, and cheeses and crackers. If you're on a budget you need to think it through considering price vs experience. You could pay less somewhere else and still be unhappy due to the poor views out of the helicopter or choices in tours. Choosing Blue Hawaiian takes the guess work out of the equation.

you are sitting in the front seat or the left seat in the rear. The other three in my group were not in a position to get any good pictures because all they saw on their side was the ocean. They were upset because no one told us about this. We paid extra for the Eco 360 because we thought it would be a smoother ride. Not sure because this was my first helicopter ride. There was some vibration and it was a little bumpy but maybe that was because of the winds. I would not recommend this unless you can get the front seat or the rear seat next to the left window.

Very comfortable. Informative pilot, made good adjustments to weather to ensure we had a good tour. Very good. We flew the ecostar. Really nice machine.

The tour of Maui was FANTASTIC especially with the whales we could see from above..The many waterfalls . hills and valleys are so magnificant to see! Our 16 yr old Daughter was amazed how cool and interesting this flight was. She smiled along with us during the flight. As we had no idea on what Maui offered it was fantastic. My husband and I were on a cruise Pride of America, we booked online prior to our trip. We caught a taxi to the airport, checked in, weighed and watched the safety movie. Our pilot Mike was very informative. There was so many whales with babies. We did a landing near Wailea I think it was and had some Pineapple champagne. Then went up the mountain over the crater that looks like the moon. The came many waterfalls and rainbows. Past Hana and the beautiful landscape along the coast We bought the dvd and am very happy with it as I get to relive the flight. As we were only at Maui for 2 day we definately think this is the only option and have time to relax while on holiday.

We've flown in airplanes all our lives, but had never taken a helicopter ride before, so we didn't know what to expect. Exhilaration - that's what! How incredible. The ride itself is fascinating. But on top of that, you're treated to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. And since we were there in February, that means the whales were there too. It was so cool to be able to look down and see them from a different perspective. Amazing. We took the Complete Island Tour which lasted about an hour. Our pilot (don't remember his name) was funny, informative and really set us at ease. We loved it! Although, if you're prone to motion sickness, you may want to take a bonine or dramamine an hour or so before your flight. We don't have a problem with that, but could see where some of the turns might cause someone with those tendencies to become sick. Again, we absolutely loved it and would do it again!
