My wife and I were so excited to go on a helicopter ride when in Maui and Blue Hawaiian didn't dissapoint. The flight was smooth and the views were breathtaking. Our pilot, Nathan, was very knowledgable of the island and offered a wealth of information during the tour. The entire flight was video taped and we decided to purchase the dvd as a souvenir. We did the tour of the entire island and were able to see the lush rainforest, Haleakala Crater, Hana, and many places that are inaccessible by car. Highly Recommended!! Vince and Mary Quakertown, PA
We really enjoyed our helicopter experience. We booked the West Maui and Molokai tour. It was very enjoyable, the ride was quiet and smooth and our pilot made rainbows over the ocean with our helicopter blades. The ride was over all to quickly, but I loved it. Next time, I want to take a volcano tour! Higly recommend this tou operator. They are very professional and the helicopters were really nice, wich large windows, so everyone has a nice view.
If you want to see hawaii in all its glory you must take a helicopter tour. I did it back in the 80's with two buddies and swore i would do it again this time I took my 11 year old daughter and my 17 year old son. It was somethin we will not forget. We flew over an active volcano. blue hawaiian is the best. best craft and pilot. this should be on everyones bucket list
The best part of our first trip to Maui ! The staff at Blue Hawaiian were committed to our having a excellent experience ! Our Pilot was very knowledgeable and was just as excited as we were and shared his love of the islands with us expertly ! The scenery was incredible ! made the whole trip picture perfect ! You can't do Maui without doing a tour with Blue Hawaiian ! We are already planning our next adventure and Blue Hawaiian is definitely on the agenda !
We thought the 90 minute flight was one of the major highlights of our trip to Hawaii, which included many fun adventures. It was the one activity my husband specifically requested. It was definitely worth the rather high cost since it is likely to be our only helicopter tour ever. We just loved seeing Maui that way and the extra landing and champagne break was fun. The pilot was a great guide and had special music he played to add to the enjoyment. It was a real treat during our 50th anniversary year. I was afraid I might get motion sickness or be afraid, but neither happened. We both highly recommend this company. (PS, the bathrooms, of course, are in the building on land, not in the helicopter.)
We booked the complete island tour of Maui for our 25th wedding anniversary with Blue Hawaiian because of their reputation for excellence. They did not disappoint. Our pilot Mike was amazing. I flew in helicopters for 20 years in the military and Mike's smooth flying ranks right up there. He ensured we got the best views of Maui from every angle and gave us great information throughout the flight. This is a must do to really see Maui!
I have flown on three different tours with these veteran Blue Hawaiian Helicopter pilots and LOVED them all. I recommend them to all my friends. My son was blown away at their expertise. I like their entertaining information. They fly for a lot of movie companies, too
This tour was great, we got to see most of the island and some beautiful waterfalls that you can't see except from above. Our tour guide was very funny and was pointing out most of the sights we didn't want to miss. It was a great experience. Now to the only reason why I am not rating this tour 5 out of 5. At the end of the tour, you are able to purchase a DVD of your tour with the pilot's narration and everything. It was $25 and I did purchase the tour. When we got home the first thing we wanted to do was watch our tour and re live the flight! We popped it in the DVD player and found we were given the wrong DVD. It had some one else on it and their flight. I contacted Blue Hawaiian and they could not locate the master copy of our flight. So other than that the experience was amazing! Oh, and Blue Hawaiian did refund me the $25, so that was appreciated also. Bottom line: If you buy the DVD, have them test it in the lobby and make sure it is the right one!
Very professional place. Gave us a free upgrade from West Maui to add in Molokai. Pilot was friendly and informative. Molokai was very cool to see this great valley full of water falls, this sheer cliff, and the stories of the Leper colony. It did scare us when 2 days after we went a helicoptor from this same company on the same tour we got upgraded two crashed. But looking at the numbers of flights this is extremely rare and less likely than it happening on the car drive to the airport.
Thank you for both the trips! Emery was our pilot both times, once with Maui Spectacular and once on the return trip from Hana! Loved every minute of it
After researching various helicopter tour companies online, we decided to book with Blue Hawaiian for our tour of Maui. We had a great time! They were very polite and professional. Our pilot (Mike) was great, providing interesting facts about what we were seeing during our flight. The flight itself was very smooth. Mike would turn us so everyone could see and get pictures of the waterfalls, craters, and the shoreline. The views are incredible! Overall it may be a little expensive but well worth the money. Additional info: -We booked the complete island tour of Maui -If you buy the A3H Gold Card (Google it) in advance then book online you'll save money -Wear dark clothes so you get less reflection in pictures -Select their higher end helicopter
Seeing Maui and Maui county from the air is quite the experience. We did the 45 minute West Maui and Molokai tour. We frew on the A-Star aircraft, which I believe is a little older than their other Eco-Stars. But the aircraft was nice. We watched a safety video then hit the chopper. Our pilot was very knowledgable and flew gently. I enjoyed a bit of Pakalolo before my flight that made it even that much better. Amanda was mildly nautious. The flight actually lasted 49 minutes so i guess we got a little more than we paid for. There was the pilot and me and Amanda up front and a group of three older lady's in the back. One seat in the back was empty. The only complaint is that our $25 DVD of our flight the we had the option to buy did not work very well when we got home. I email and asked for another copy to be sent to me, which they had no problem doing, but the new copy had the same problem:(
Immediately, my first impressions were great because the staff there is so welcoming! Everyone we met was really great. We even left our lens cap for our camera in the helicopter and they went and found it for us! Besides the service, this is an absolute experience of a lifetime. Go see the Molokai cliffs if you can, amazing!
My wife and I flew the on Dec 4, 2011 with Glenda as our pilot. Glenda was engaging and informative, giving is a very nice overview of the geography and geology of Maui. Waterfalls, canyons, rain forest, etc. Interesting contrast between the windward (wet) and leeward (dry) sides of the island - entirely different ecosystems. Great view of the Crater. Actually saved us from making the long drive up there the next day. Only thing that prevents me from giving this 5 stars is that we flew so high I am sure we missed some of the amazing beauty of the waterfalls and towns. Don't know if there are "rules" about altitude, or maybe there were just a lot of helicopters in the air that day, but we seemed to be flying higher than the other helicopters I saw.
Words can't explain. We took the flight over to Molokai. Just amazing seeing the sea cliffs and all the places that you would never see otherwise. The pilot was great and very informative. Not cheap but would love to do again.
