It was a fantastic trip. Brody was our pilot and explained everything as we went. I would recommend him and your company to anyone going to visit Hawaii.

We did this tour with blue Hawaiian on July 4th at 11 AM. After debating between sea and air, I believe its best to view it from sky - as it covers lot more ground than just a part of lava that’s going down the ocean; second it’s safer from vog and for a person like me - you won’t get sea sick. The ground staff was informative and professional. They even provided us with dark colored t-shirts for me and my girls so that there’s less glare on glass for us to take better pictures. I think that was very thoughtful. Our pilot did an awesome job during the tour and each one of us got multiple opportunities to view the lava river from our side of windows as he took couple of rounds around fissure 8, closer each time. It was an awesome experience. On the return, we also got to see few waterfalls. Thank you blue Hawaiian tours absolutely amazing tour.

The experience with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters was great. Easy Check-in with easy safety introduction. The pilot(Ethan) gave my flying group a safety and confident mannerism. The flight was 50 minutes. The pilot flew slow enough to give all sides of the helicopter a great view. Everyone was able to photograph their photos of the volcano flow. Once in a lifetime experience. Must do on your vacation.

What a great experience. Definitely The highlight of our trip. My kids loved it and being able to see the volcano from the air is the best way to see it!

Best idea my husband has EVER had!! I was scared to death, but loved it!!! Also loved not having to drive the LONG road back from Hana!!

After a reservation mishap (booked through a third party) Blue Hawaii took care to make it right. we got the flight we wanted on the day we wanted and had a great time on our tour.

Our pilot, Beth, was excellent. Smooth ride and a great tour captain. She knew so much about the island and getting us the best photo angles. Definitely wear dark colors!  And long dark pants too!  I had a hard time keeping my fingers and knees out of photos due to reflections in the glass. The helicopter was clean and roomy enough for our group of six. The headsets helped and we shared mics. The captains voice came over loud and clear and she heard our questions easily. We could not hear one another at all though, so expect lots of pokes and finger pointing. The check-in was quick and covered all the essential info. They take a video of your flight and make it available to you for purchase afterwards. The only reason I didn't give them five stars is because it felt a bit like a cattle call. Line us up and process is through - not much personality. As an entire experience it was a little flat but the views and being able to ride in a helicopter were awesome!

I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Hawaiian Islands.�

Excellent scenery and pilot Shane's voice made the ride smooth and relaxing. One downside, passengers should wear dark clothing due to the reflection when taking pictures. I would highly recommend this tour, well worth the money!

A great flight and a wonderful pilot. Gernot was very funny and informative. He calmed everyone's nerves with his humor. The crew and representatives here in Hilo were phenomenal and professional, esp. when they had to deal with a mistake made by someone else in the scheduling department. I would highly recommend Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, flying out of Hilo, but I would also recommend you double check that the date you have on your voucher is actually what is scheduled in Hilo. But whatever happens, this company and crew and representatives will bend over backward to make it a perfect trip for your entire party. I would return to this company without hesitation. Thank you!
