Wow. There are not enough words to describe the lava and waterfall tour. While it is tragic to see the loss the volcano was causing, it is a once in a lifetime experience I’ll never forget. Our pilot was Hugo. He was very personable and gave nice narrative as we flew. This a must do!

We visited Kailua Kona on the big island and drive to Hilo to pick up our Blue Hawaiian helicopter. It was an amazing flight. We saw an explosion into the water and spent time over a lava flow. Viewed waterfalls at the end. Even those in the middle seats had a good view. We did take the Ecostar and enjoyed the extra viewing area with the big windows. We had a great time-we were in the air the full 45 minutes even though we were a few minutes leaving. Adolf was our pilot and encouraged questions and did a great job of telling us what we were seeing.

We took a trip to see the lava flow 3 days ago. We had a great time, enjoyed the flight as much as seeing the lava flow from the most excellent perspective. Great pilot, he made sure he went left and right to let all get a good view of the fissure, along with the flow, and overall spectacle of the land produced in this event. Our hearts go out to those whose stuff/ land lost especially. Excellent ck in, we came a bit early on Sat. for 11am tour. Great staff, ground crew, pilots..... all local of course, Mahalo!! to all at BHH.

We had an amazing view of the lava currently flowing and Mike, our pilot, was outstanding with both his commentary and flying skills! Expensive but worth it.

First book ahead of time if volcano is active. They often sell out. Next be honest about your weight, they will weigh you before the ride - they have to be sure weight is evenly distributed. PLEASE wear dark cloths so photos won't have your white shirt/shorts reflection in them. You will get close enough to get good photos or video on your cell phone. They also sell a audio/video $40 of your flight a be careful what you say it's being recorded LOL GREAT VIEWS

Great view of the lava. Good host.

Flight was incredible. This was our first helicopter flight. Pilot took us out up close to the lave flow several times and we got amazing photos. Thank you so much for this experience and we cannot wait to do another helicopter tour soon! Mahalo! (hope I spelled this right) The Silverman Family
