The Tour was amazing. Our pilot Matthew definitely had a wealth of information to share for every site, which was awesome. The flight was very smooth as well. Definitely a must do when visiting Kauai. Thank you very much

This was a GREAT tour. it is a must see of Hawaii. Fissure 8 is awesome to see, and the river of lava is Fantastic. Our tour guide Scott was awesome to. All and all, this is awesome thing to see.

We booked a ring of fire helicopter tour with Blue Hawaii for two on 7/3. The check in was easily since we were first group scheduled to fly out at 9 AM. The staff is courteous and friendly. We went through their safety video and debriefing. Then, when we were ready to board, we were told our flight is cancelled due to poor visibility. We were told the ring of fire tours all sold out but we could book different helicopter tours. It was not clear whether we could transfer our fee to another booking. However, the refund for the cancelled tour will take up to 10 days to be refunded. Since most of us have to make plan to get to Big Islands (flight, hotels, rental cars, etc.) It will be difficult to put another $1000 on credit card while waiting for the refund. We know the risk of cancellation depending on FAA clearance, weather, etc.. but here are few things Blue Hawaiin could have changed in their policy. 1. The fee should not be charged until the customers get on the helicopter! Paradise Helicopter tour offers this policy. 2. There is no effort to accommodate or offer later tours. We found out that they were able to fly the next tour scheduled at 10 AM on the same day! We were not offered to wait to see whether the visibility would improve! 3. There was no information regarding how many flights were cancelled or took off in the past week on the website. From reading some reviews on TripAdvisor, it seems they do cancel their flights often. (We should have read these reviews before booking.) 4. Price difference: when you book the tour directly on their website, you get charged almost $100 more than through TripAdvisor, Priceline or other tour agency! The only reason why they did not get one star because their staff seems to be professional and courteous! The check-in process is organized... and we understand that they probably hate to cancel the flight as much as we do.. but we probably will go with Paradise Helicopter tour in stead (when we called Paradise and spoke with their booking agent, they do have extra flights later on of the week... unfortunately, we could not make it!)

Our pilot, Wesley, was superb. The flight was incredibly steady and the helicopter itself felt very very safe. The landing was so soft too. Wesley was friendly and informative during our flight. The high point was seeing the lava boiling out of fissure 8. We were 1,000 ft above it and had a tremendous view. We circled round it twice to give everyone a good view. I wished we had done a third circuit! We were near enough for a great view, but seemed far enough away to be safe from lava and we stayed well away from the noxious gases too. We had a good look at the lava entering the ocean, as well as quick look at a waterfall that can only be seen from the coast. Yes that was nice, but I'd have swapped it in a heartbeat to linger over the lava longer. Of course I realize that that means hovering over people's houses and stopping other helicopters, so I can see why we only had a brief time there. I arrived for my original flight to find long lines waiting to talk to the representatives. There had been cancellations that day there was some confusion regarding whether I was in the right place to check-in for my flight. As it turned out my flight was also cancelled, but was able to re-book for two days later on a 9am flight. The weather was much better and there were no long lines. The check-in process was easy, the briefing good, and the organization to get us onto the helicopters in the right seats for weight distribution was excellent. After the flight you could buy a DVD or USB with the video of your flight. With about 7 flights going off close together that made for a melee in the shop with only one person handling merchandise purchases and the video copying. I had to wait an hour to get my USB stick, which was frustrating. Despite all that I left grinning from ear to ear all day.

Best vacation experience I have ever had! Worth every penny! Was about an hour and was the perfect amount of time.  Very professional from start to finish.  I assume all of the pilots are great and entertaining but we had Ryan and he did an outstanding job!

My husband, 10yo daughter and I had an amazing experience on the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter tour while visiting Kauai.  It was an awesome way to see the breathtaking island.  Our pilot Beth was professional, friendly and so knowledgeable with fun facts during our tour.  She also made sure we saw the sites by hovering and rotating the helicopter for both sides to get the amazing views!  She made the tour unforgettable.  It was one of the top highlights of our trip and we are so glad we did it!!

Scott was great. Helicopter ride over the volcano? Sure that sounds incredibly safe... but Scott made it just that! Amazing pilot with cool music tracks that matches the scenery creating this magical moment that'll left me breathless. This is a must do in Big Island, plus swimming with stingray, swimming with wild dolphins and stargazing tour.

Incredible way to see the island. 45-50 min flight plus prep time. Very skilled pilots give you a tour. Only downside, If there is one, is that 2 people will not have window seats. I had a middle seat and it was still spectacular. Staff is friendly and helpful. Even if you’re afraid of heights, this is one tour you want to hit, especially if the lava is flowing.
