Ethan, our pilot, was so patient with 3 kids all competing for air time with questions. He was very knowledgeable and had a good attitude when my kids asked some wacky questions. Thank you!

I had the chance to visit Kauai along with son On dec 1 2018 and had the most beautiful experience in blue Hawaiian helicopters which was essentially 1 hr ride around the island of Kauai. The pilot Greg was fabulous and gave us a tour of the island. He had the Jurassic park theme played as we visited the wahilua falls and we will never forget. If given another chance I would surely jump onto blue Hawaiian. I was 285 pounds and had to buy an extra seat as their limit was 280 per seat. The helicopter was ec 130. He introduced himself and then gave us a USB video drive of the entire 55 minutes. The price was $269 per head. I loved this tour and would recommend it at the drop of a hat.

My husband and I did this with our parents and what an amazing experience! We had a very clear day and our pilot Brian provided an amazing tour. What a great way to see the island, would highly recommend.

This is an altered review as my first experience was less than satisfactory. I rode again, and had a completely different experience. My original review is below. Brian was our pilot, and he was fantastic. My first pilot was Beth, and she was also wonderful, but one major difference between the 2 is I thought Brian did an excellent job of making sure both sides of the aircraft got equal time in front of the more iconic spots. Both gave excellent commentary and were knowledgeable with the history of Kauai and both were able to answer all the questions asked. A+ for both! Moving on to the flight. Your seating assignment matters 100%. If you are not taking pictures and just want to enjoy the ride, the front, middle seat (#1) is great. If you want pictures, and window seat will be great, with seat #2 (front, window seat) being the best. Seat #4 and #7 are the other window seats and are also great for pictures (I asked the passengers in those seats) then seat #5 and #6 are in the back middle and are still good, but only if you are friendly with the person sitting by the window and aren’t taking pictures. If you are a photographer, I suggest doing a doors off ride with another company. That being said, with Blue Hawaiian you get a full experience with commentary, and you don’t have the age restrictions, you can also fit your whole group. As for the actual flight, the scenery is beautiful, and the time goes quickly. I HIGHLY suggest you speak with the other people on your flight. No one likes a window hog, and I tried to be conscious of the other passengers. I got a great picture in front of the helicopter at the end. It was memorable, and I would do it again. After my positive 2nd ride, I would highly recommend this tour. They have excellent customer service I spoke with Mel (Female Mel) and she was a sweetheart. The pilots are fantastic, and the views are like nowhere else on earth. If you are interested in my original review, please see below. Trip Advisor does not allow you to edit a review, only delete and re-post. My positive 2nd experience far outweighed my bad 1st one so I felt it wasn’t fair to leave that one up. Very disappointed with my experience. Beth, the pilot, was the only good thing about the flight. She was very sweet and knowledgeable. They need to charge you based on where you are seated because not all seats are the same. I was solo, and there was a party of 2 and 3. They sat me in the front middle. It was difficult to see and to take pictures. The girl by the window in the front was all over the place and kept getting in my pictures. Towards the end I was just sticking my hand over to take pictures, but she would knock my hand away. She was with her parents and her dad and her had fancy cameras, so I guess if you want a good seat you need to bring a fancy camera. I also thought we went so quickly over a lot of places, but part of that may have been because I couldn’t see. It wasn’t worth the money at all. I also don’t think it was a full 45 minutes (was sold to me as “just under an hour” 45 min is way under an hour!). At the end they take pictures of you by the helicopter with your camera. When it was my turn Mel had me stand on the X and said “say aloha” well he took the picture as I was talking. I checked it after and saw and I told him my mouth was open from saying “aloha” he just laughed and said “oh yeah?” And kept walking then I said more forcefully that I had no good picture of me in from of the helicopter and he looked and me and smiled and laughed and kept walking. The older couple asked him about getting a picture of me with the helicopter since he clearly wasn’t understanding and he didn’t respond and just greeted the next group. This is a mill that just pumps out fast rides for a crazy price. There are other companies that are the same price (or less) that offer a doors off option (no annoying glare) and seat fewer people, so everyone gets a window. Go with them, and skip Blue Hawaiian.
