Miguel was our patient pilot! Calm and cool! Blue Hawaiian helicopters are professional under pressure and kept our safety #1! Our original flight was cancelled due to weather. We were able to have the option to reschedule or be fully refunded. We rescheduled for the following morning and we were not disappointed! Safety briefing short and to the point. Easy to follow instructions and helicopter fun to ride! Weather was gorgeous and the sights were beautiful! Highly recommend at least once in your lifetime!

Great Experience
ビッグアイランド - ワイコロア

We booked this 2 hour tour through our concierge at the Marriott. It was close to the hotel, and came highly recommended. A bus picked us up at the hotel. Honestly, it was so close, we totally could have driven if it would have saved us money, since this was quite pricey. For 4 of us it cost over $2500. They have you watch a safety video, and are very safety conscious. We were a party of four, put in a helicopter with two other people. They were smokers, so they smelled a little like smoke, which wasn't the best, but not the companies fault. Our pilot was really good, and got us into the air flawlessly. However, he didn't seem to really want to speak unless we asked questions. He had some great music playing when he wasn't speaking, but it seemed like it was just a viewing tour, rather than a narrated tour. He did start off with letting us know that there will be no lava to see. I almost think this should be reiterated and perhaps the tour slightly altered, because honestly, you can only look at black fields of dried lava so long. We had no sense of where we were until we came into Hilo. And, I had no idea we had to stop for fuel in the middle. That would have been something that would have been nice to know ahead of time. We were able to jump off and go to the bathroom at Hilo. But that took a good 20 minutes out of a tour, so not sure if you can actually call it a two hour tour if you have to land and add fuel and take back off. The best part of the tour came after the fuel stop. We went up the coast and saw all the water falls that you can't see from land. We saw a circular rainbow, and went into a gulch and up close to a few amazing water falls. Again, a little more narrative would have been nice; even if it was just little tidbits about Hawaii, or the area. Overall, I wouldn't say it is a must see, as it is very pricey. But it is a good way to check "helicopter ride" off your bucket list.

Spectacular It Is - Check Out Jurassic Rock!
マウイ - カフルイ

I took a "Maui Spectacular" tour and it was definitely "Spectacular." The helicopter company, "Blue Hawaiian Helicopters," is the largest in Hawaii and used in film makings including Jurassic Park. I woke up quite early to catch my flight from 7:30 for 1.5 hours as it is required to be at the building 45 minutes prior to the flight. You can take only sunglasses, cell phones, and cameras, but no bag is allowed. There are lockers to keep your bags. After 5 minutes of safety instructions, you are equipped with safe gears. Then you are eventually guided to the helicopter. The flight was very expensive, but it was worth every penny. Rainforest, waterfalls, and whale watching from the sky. The most exciting of all for me was to see Jurassic Rock. Until then, I had thought the helicopter arriving scene of the movie, Jurassic Park, was computer-generated. It was not! Unfortunately, we did not make a 20-minute landing on the slopes of Haleakala due to bad weather. Instead, we each got a video recording of the flight in a USB and a bottle of sparkling wine.

This was a bucket list item for me! Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and our tour guide, Gardner, made it the best experience possible! The shuttle was timely, driver friendly and checking upon arrival was swift.  After a short video, the adventure began! Gardner was professional and made sure that we were all comfortable. He was very informative during the flight and interactive, even though we were so awestruck that we barely spoke. We felt very safe, secure and comfy during the flight. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. We definitely recommend Blue Hawaiian!

Great way to return from Hana
カウアイ - リフエ

My wife and I did this helicopter tour on Maui as a way to get from Hana back to Lahaina.* We took a tour that drove us to Hana (an interesting tour in itself, but it would have been a bit much to go both ways by road). The helicopter picked us up at the airstrip after flying other guests out to Hana. We met the pilot who gave us our safety briefing, then we climbed into our assigned seats, strapped in, and put on headphones so we could hear the pilot...and the music. Then we lifted gently off. Just before lift off, the pilot leaned forward and punched a button, and we had the Indiana Jones Theme playing in our headphones. He lifted off, went to about 50’ altitude, flew out to the runway, and headed down/over the runway for “take off.” The runway ends with a quick drop off into the sea, so this was a much more dramatic takeoff than just pulling pitch and climbing! Then we gradually climbed heading back inland. As we passed by some waterfalls, the music changed to Jurassic Park. The pilot reported that he didn’t see any dinosaurs, but that was typical because the dinosaurs usually went up to the crater at Haleakala by 10 each morning and this was 2:00 in the afternoon. We kept climbing passing through some wispy clouds until we could start to see inside the Haleakala crater. And, at this time, because Haleakala means “House of the Sun,” the music changed to The Beatles “Here Comes the Sun,” so I figured “everything was all right.” Anyway, the sight into Haleakala crater was clear, and you could see the many cinder cones from past eruptions very clearly. The last eruption was in the 1700s. From the air you could quite easily see where the old lava flow had been and could follow it all the way to the sea. After that we gradually descended and flew over the ocean looking for whales. All too soon, we headed inland and began our descent for landing. The pilot brought us into the heliport, held us at a smooth hover about 5’ off the ground, maneuvered us easily around three parked helicopters, and sat us gently and evenly down on our helipad. Yes, he was a good pilot!! This was a highly enjoyable trip run well by professionals. I have over 300 hours in helicopters courtesy of the US Army both in Vietnam and stateside. I felt very comfortable on this flight and plan on doing it again the next time we are on Maui. *NOTE: True, the helicopter only got us to the airport/heliport but a van provided by the helicopter service took us to Lahaina.
