If you do one thing in Kauai . . . make it a Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tour. Incredible. Beth our pilot was awesome. Can't recommend it enough.
The flight was spectacular. Our pilot Derek did a great job telling the story of the Hawaiian Islands. Most definitely would recommend taking a helicopter tour
Wow! Such an amazing experience. Totally worth the cost. Greg was an amazing pilot. I was concerned that I’d get sick, but luckily I did not. It does get very warm in the helicopter. So dress appropriately.
Fantastic tour! Gardner is knowledgeable and entertaining. Absolutely recommend and we will return.
Amazing time with Blue Hawaiian Helicopters out of Lihue! Worked around our schedule because of mechanical issues on the first booked flight! Very much worth the time and money! Pilot Dave was very informative, skilled, and entertaining!
Absolutely fantastic!!! The Pilot, Garner was very informative, friendly and a superb pilot. An experience to remember forever. Tuesday, our host was awesome! Thank you!
Gardner did an amazing job ! It was such an awesome experience. From the time that we got on the shuttle with Tuesday til we got off the helicopter every was so wonderful
I did enjoy the experience of my first Helicopter tour. Although I had a window seat, I was mainly facing the ocean. Oahu is not a big island and I think more of the passengers would've been happier if both sides of the helicopter had a proper turn going past the touristy sites like Waikiki Beach, Honolulu and Diamond Head crater plus Turtle bay. I didn't really see these much at all and they were what I most wanted to see. Overall good, just a little disappointed. Mahalo!
% Star Rating our pilot Mr Gardner was excellent Enjoyed it totally.
Fantastic views, very friendly crew, very safe aircraft. Got to see incredible sunsets, amazing mountains, spectacular shorelines, and so much more. Really gave me a visceral sense of the island, and deep sense of connection and awe. Thank you so much!!
Great company! You cannot got wrong with them! The trip is filled with information about the island related by the pilot. The views are out of this world!
Well worth it! This is a must do for sure!
I actually took this tour in July 2018, however due to travelling all over the world for the last 18 months, I am just in the process of writing all the reviews. After my tour to explore Big Island Volcano National Park was cancelled due to the National Park being closed during the volcanic eruption, the tour company recommended I call Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and booked onto their 10am tour (the mornings are better) to see the National Park by air as they were still operating at that time. I took a flight from Honolulu and arrived at the airport shortly before 9am to check in for my tour and as I went to pay, the girl told me they weren’t taking payments in case they had to cancel. I assumed it was because of the volcano, but actually it was because of the rain (the weather on Big Island differs so much compared to the other islands)! So I eagerly awaited until it was time for our safety briefing. As I was waiting, a guy came in and told a group of people the flight was cancelled which made us think our flight was cancelled too but as it turns out the weather can change quite rapidly here! After the safety briefing, we were given the all clear to take off. I consider myself very lucky as ours was the first flight to take off that day and the weather started to clear up. There were 6 groups in total with 6 passengers in each helicopter. Our pilot, Casey, was excellent! He told us a little bit about the history and then pointed out key sights like the 1960s lava flow. We started our journey along the coastline where we could see previous lava flows and the beautiful lush vegetation. The best thing about the whole experience was the fact, the volcano was erupting at that time and we got to witness it live! The tour began at the point where the lava river meets the ocean. It’s just incredible the amount of stream that’s created! You can actually see the river of lava moving from high up. Then we headed to Fissure 8 which was currently spitting out a lot of lava! We could see it bubbling up and running down into the river, it was just spectacular! Honestly, you can’t describe the beauty of it and the news don’t do it justice! We circled around the fissure a couple of times and then headed over some waterfalls before continuing up the coast and back to the airport. The flight lasted about 50 minutes and it honestly was just incredible! The volcano erupting really was a blessing in disguise for me as how many people can say they’ve seen the active volcano erupting at its best!
Hugo is a great pilot and he did a great job of explaining the landscape and locations we saw. Knowing that he has 18 years of experience made me feel much calmer on my 1st helecopter flight. We did the 90 min tour with the extra landing and it was amazing! Champagne on a Maui mountain overlooking the ocean...perfect. If you do a tour in Maui....do this one! We saw all the sites including the crater and Hana and many waterfalls. The booking online was simple but I do recommend booking early because flights fill up quickly.
Greg is a legend!! Thanks for an incredible tour, we loved it!
