Shane did a GREAT job of showing off the valleys and waterfalls! Smooooth flying!

After the safety briefing, we were given the all clear to take off. There were several groups in total with around 6 passengers in each helicopter. Our pilot was excellent! He told us a little bit about the history and then pointed out key sights like the 1960s lava flow. We started our journey along the coastline where we could see previous lava flows and the beautiful lush vegetation. The tour began at the point where the lava river meets the ocean. It’s just incredible the amount of stream that’s created! You can actually see the river of lava coming from high up. Then we headed to Fissure 8 which was currently dormant! Honestly, you can’t describe the beauty of it and the news don’t do it justice! We circled around the fissure a couple of times and then headed over some waterfalls before continuing up the coast and back to the airport. The flight lasted about 50 minutes and it honestly was just incredible! This flight was just as impressive, all the staff were extremely pleasant and efficient, however, the pilot was way up there, his personality and piloting skills, his knowledge and his total demeanour was remarkable, he was one of those individuals who go the extra yards. So the pilot was great and the flight was fun and the ground staff friendly and think its a good option I can recommend for Hilo.

This is a must experience. It's our first trip to Kauai and Hawaii and definitely worth doing.. Time and money.. You'll see areas.. things that you won't see otherwise. Kris was an amazing pilot..I have a tendency towards motion sickness, but Kris too good care of me..

Have done several helicopter flights around the world and heard good things about this tour. Its true the circle of fire no longer exists so they need to change the name. We were staying it the volcanoes national park so it was good to put everything into context The weather was borderline so it was hard to get a full panoramic view of the area What would have been really helpful would have been to have a map of our route and the expected sites My naive thought was that we would fly over the volcano national park and the famous big falls in Hilo In fact you do neither ; I had learnt from our ground guide the day before that they were not allowed to fly over the Puna area to see the 2018 Lava due to residents objection from the previous year’s numerous helicopters. The highlight was to fly over the P’oo’uu’o crater with its steam in the edge of the park and go inside one of the larger craters. (dip inside with helicopter) The waterfalls were pretty but I thought the small falls we saw were a prelude to us seeing the larger ones and they apparently were never in the agenda and suddenly the tour was over All said, the pilot was great and the flight was fun snd the ground staff friendly and despite my practical points think its a good tour

The ride was amazing, however the customer service was not very good. I scheduled and paid for my ride and less than 15 minutes before pick up my ride was cancelled for no reason. I suspect a larger group came through and they wanted my seat for someone else. I did not get the hour ride, I paid for, but I was offered a ride with less time and a partial refund. Because of the rescheduling I missed another activity I paid for in advance. My reply to the response below: The rep informed me the change was due to, "an unforeseen issue." I specifically asked if the change was due to weather, because the weather was perfect, and she stated, "No." I am coming back to Hawaii, with a friend, and I would go on your helicopter ride again. The views of the "Haiku Ladder" also called, "The Stairway to Heaven." was amazing.
