Thank you, Thank you JIM..OMG you were such a lovable guy. You made ourr flight enjoyable and one to remember. You made me feel comfortable, safe and you explained every movement the helicopter was doing. I can not thank you enough. We took the Doors Off Tour and it was worth every penny. I will definitely do it again! Pilot Jim was great. Views were superb. It was the highlight of our vacation. If you are thinking about doing it ..... DO IT!

Do it. Stop thinking about it and just do it! Tim was my pilot, knew is stuff, good sense of humor! I wana go again!!! I did this on my first day, it's a great way to have a look at the places to visit early in your holiday.

Our ride with Pilot Jim was exceptionally wonderful! His skill and knowledge of the Island and it's key points was outstanding. A very exciting ride, plus he proved to us that rainbows from above are circular!! Truly Fascinating!! I recommend this flight to everyone with a sense of adventure and a love of Magnum PI and Hawaii Five-O!!!

Makani Kai Helicopters is a do not miss adventure when visiting Hawaii. The janitor (Acting Pilot) Jim was fantastic and totally enhanced the experience. If my wife and I were staying another week we would do it again.

My wife and I wanted our 9 year old to have a memorable trip to Waikiki and what better way to do that than flying on a helicopter to circle the island of Oahu. The whole experience have been nothing but 5 stars, from the time we were picked up till when we were dropped off. Our pilot Jim was very informative as he flew us around the island and Peter if your reading this I just want to say thank you for such a pleasant experience. Mahalo!!!

Highlight of the trip. My family of four talked about the doors off helicopter ride all evening. Our pilot was a great guy and made us feel totally safe. His humor had my wife, who was a little nervous, laughing from take off to landing. WELL DONE!!!!

Jeff was an awesome pilot for my open door helicopter tour. I wish I could have stayed up there longer. Dress warm. I thought I was dressed warm but was still chilly. The view was breathtaking. Highly recommend this adventure.

My family and I did the 45 min "Doors Off " tour and it was amazing!!!! First class customer service from pickup at hotel to drop off after tour. Peter(tour guide) and Jim(pilot) were top notch and very knowledgeable and friendly. 5 stars and more!!!

A bit pricey, but definitely well worth it. Our pilot, Margot, was super friendly. Would recommend to anyone wishing to see the entire island from the sky.

Everything was great!! Very beautiful view. The staff were friendly and helpful. I absolutely love this tour! The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because they refused to provide interpreter.

We had a great time soaring above Waikiki beach and all around the natural beauties of Oahu. Our pilot, Jim was hilarious. He made it enjoyable for everyone! The helicopter itself was air conditioned and felt comfortable, although you won't notice once you see the stunning blue water and lush green mountains! Truly enjoyable experience, I would do this again in a heartbeat. Next time I might try the doors off (magnum version!) 10 out of 10 would recommend!!🚁

My family (me, my husband, 9 year old daughter, and 6 month old son) did the one hour, doors on Sacred Falls tour. The whole experience was amazing, from start to finish. Pete picked us up about a block from our hotel. He was very nice and helped us get the baby and stroller into the shuttle bus. When we arrived at their building at the airport, Pete helped me with the infant carrier and diaper bag, and answered all my questions about bringing the baby on the helicopter (and I had a lot of questions). Pete was very patient with us and allowed me to focus on enjoying the tour, rather than worrying about the logistics that come with having an infant. The building was also very clean and comfortable. When we got in the helicopter, Pete took dozens of pictures of my family for us, something that I appreciate very much as I look back on the pictures of our trip. He took even more pictures of us after the tour, in front of the helicopter. As for the actual tour, our pilot Margot was great. She was very nice, funny, and did a great job narrating the tour. She spoke clearly and was easy to understand. My 9 year old daughter thought it was cool to have a female pilot, so that was an added plus. The scenery was breathtaking. If you're considering doing this tour, just do it. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Overall, the whole experience with Makani Kai Helicopters was amazing. I highly recommend them! Thank you so much to everyone there who made this such a wonderful experience for my family. We will never forget it!

We have been on helicopters before but this time decided on open door copter! Very different, had slight hickup with having to go back to airport and start again but was great experience, gets cold up there with no doors so definitely take a jacket but dont leave to loose as wind is very strong. Trip gives you a really good overview of Oahu! Our pilot Doug was a champ, apparently he has done work on Hawaii 5 0 and Magnum P.I., kept very cool and calm when we had a slight problem after take off! All staff brilliant, manager/owner not my favourite person due to his approach after the aborted first flight incident. Overall it was a great experience.
