I was so afraid as I have a fear of heights. But my husband wanted to do the 60 minute circle island tour from Ko Olina. We decided to book the entire helicopter because I was concerned about one of us getting an inside seat and I was also concerned that if I started feeling sick or panicked, I did not want others to have to suffer through it. But within 10 seconds or so, I know it was fine.. I think the winds were down that day and I did not feel anything but a smooth ride. I was amazed at how safe I felt inside the helicopter. It was wonderful. The pilot was great and very knowledgeable of the island. It was very nice to get a view of the entire island before we ventured out in a car. I am really happy we did this tour and would recommend it to anyone. My kids (11 and 12) really enjoyed it too and they sat in the front seats. It was a great experience!

We decided to splurge and take the doors-off tour. What a great decision! It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Oahu. Seeing things like Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head from the air is unbeatable. Our pilot Margot was off-the-charts good. She flew that helicopter like she was born doing it. She was also very informative. My two sons aged 20 and 22 were both thrilled with the flight. We got to see things we could have never seen if we didn't take this tour. Thanks for the great flight!

We raced to get there and barely made it on time but the staff was gracious enough to accommodate my wife and daughter. I didn't go as I don't like heights. They had a great time and saw a lot of the island. It was an experience they will never forget

We took the 30 minute tour with Jim, who although he said he was the janitor was very obviously a pilot of some regard. We were picked up by Pete who was filling in as a driver and was very informative about what we can expect on the tour as well as pointing out places of interest (including his dentist) on the way to the airport. The tour itself was a spectacular way to see Oahu and Jim the Janitor filled the time with very interesting commentary about the sights. Overall I would recommend to anyone looking for a different way of seeing the island, as the views can not be beaten and the crew at Makani Kai make it an awesome experience for young or old.

Went on a flight this morning with makani kai helicopters. Awsome! The weather was great and the scenery is spectacular. (It is Hawaii after all). The pilot gives you a running commentary via your headset which is really informative. The staff are also very professional and the service A+. Highly recommend them.

We wanted to see Hawaii from the air, be safe, be awed and have an amazing first helicopter experience...all things accomplished by traveling with Makani Kair Helicopters and Pilot Jim. He made us comfortable and welcome from the moment we boarded and kept us focused on all the trip had to offer for the full 60 minutes of the flight. Jim was extremely knowledgeable of not only the chopper but of every area we flew over, giving us so much information to take back to friends and family. The DVD we received in the mail about a week after we flew is a wonderful, informative and valued souvenir of the experience of a lifetime. So glad we encouraged one another to do this before we can't. Nothing like it and no place better to first experience such an adventure than Hawaii...MAHALO!

Toured the entire island and beautiful waterfalls with Margot our pilot. Safe and secure - and on time too!

My wife and I took the no-door 45 min long tour. It was the first time on a helicopter for both of us. We took some time getting used to the open door and the rush of the air on our faces. Once we got comfortable, we enjoyed the rest of the tour thoroughly. Our pilot, Nathan, was friendly and funny. He informed us clearly about the flight and gave a great tour. My favorite moment was when the helicopter banked so much that I thought I was almost going to fall. On a relatively clear evening, we had a great sight seeing experience with some fantastic views. We also a chance encounter of blue whales spouting in the distance. I surely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Honolulu. Also, as another reviewer - papaspaldo mentions, off door is the way to go! Mahalo!

Morey was our pilot and he did a fantastic job with his wealty of knowledge and expertise in navigating the chopper. we felt very safe.

This was the first helicopter ride for my husband and I- Pilot Jim was awesome and immediately put us at ease. The views were spectacular and Jim made sure that everyone in the helicopter was able to see everything. He kept us laughing and comfortable. Everyone at the company was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We highly recommend Makani Kai Helicopters to anyone that asks!

Just completed the open air flight. Tremendous way to appreciate the scenery, diversity and history of the island. A must do!

We've lived here for 2 1/2 years and this was the BEST way to see the island! We had the doors off tour and it was spectacular!! The office was amazing and friendly. The pilot visited with us casually before our flight and we really enjoyed that. The flight was smooth and not scary at all!! It was like driving down the highway with out jeep doors off only....in the sky! You MUST see the island this way! So thankful we did this before we moved!! Mahalo nui loa!

The wife and I had a great time, what an amazing trip around the island. The flight was so smooth it was almost hard to tell you were flying. Got to see so many interesting and new angles to the island. Next time we will go for the doors off experience. The 60 minute Scared Falls tour was perfect for a first time visit to the island!

We booked online weeks before our trip to make sure could do this and set up for first thing upon arrival. They had to reschedule but gave us the better front seats for our trouble. Pilot and crew were great. Pick up and return to your hotel. I Picked based on TA reviews and also highly recommend.
