Our Pilot Morley provided us with an awesome narrative for all the sites of Oahu. The views are breath taking! Manoa falls was one part of the trip that I enjoyed seeing. Morley definitely knew his stuff- his knowledge of all the historical landmarks and local facts was the cherry on top! I would highly recommend Makani Kai Helicopters.

Fantastic!! This was my 2nd ride with this company and won't by my last! Our pilot, Jim was knowledgeable about the island and had a great sense of humor. Seeing the island from above is incredible and you get to view things that are either closed off to the public now or not accessible by foot or vehicle. If you get the chance I highly recommend this company, it's well worth it!

We did the doors off version of this helicopter tour and saw most of the island by air in one hour. What a buzz! Saw Kahala, Hanauma Bay, Sacred Falls (spectacular), the Windward Coast, Turtle Bay, the North Shore, Dole pineapple plantation and Pearl Harbour!! Best money spent on this holiday. Remember to wear a jumper and pants. Gets a bit cold up there!

Took my sisters out and had an amazing time! What a great way to see Oahu from a beautiful perspective!!! Thanks Jim for being an awesome pilot!

Had a great experience... Enjoyed the humourus & witty commentary along with the spectacular sites.... First time in a chopper loved every minute.... Definitely recommend this to cross off your bucket list... Next time will try the open door....thanks again

I took a helicopter ride with Makani Kai Helicopters in Honolulu a couple of weeks ago. I chose the doors off one. And I can honestly say that it was a highlight of my trip to Hawaii. Excellent group of people working there will let you see the breathtaking views of Hawaii and make you feel welcome. Highly recommend this company, they are fantastic!

I went on the hour long helicopter flight yesterday. It was stunning. Fantastic opportunity to see things that I would never otherwise see. Richard, the pilot, was great. Left from Ko olina which was very convenient if staying at Aulani Disney resort. I have never flown in a helicopter before, but completely safe and throughly enjoyed myself. The cost is expensive, but it is a once in a lifetime activity. Thanks. PS They do offer a DVD which you can purchase after the flight which is recorded during the flight. Ordered it, but haven't seen it yet.

We took an hour long flight on 5/26/2015 and it was absolutely fantastic! Our pilot Jim was the best. Knowledgeable and funny!!! It was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We saw waterfalls, rainbows, Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head along with tons of other sights. I would recommend this to anyone and can not wait to return and do it once again....Maybe with "doors off"!!!!!

We choose the doors off joy flight with Makani Kai Helicopters on the 26th May 2015. Wow, what an experience. The thrill of flying in a helicopter is one thing, but flying with the doors off is another. His helicopter is the same type which was Magnum PI and painted in the same colours of the one in that iconic 70's tv series. The helicopter can seat 5 people (4 passengers and the pilot ). We choose the back seats which seats 2 people. The back seats are a little bit more windy, but better for taking photos. This was my 4th visit to Oahu, and have travelled all over the island before, but to see it from a helicopter was was breath taking. With the doors off, enhanced the experience, and the photos we took were fantastic. Our pilot was named Jim, he was a fantastic pilot and narrator who had a great sense of humour. One of the things I loved was flying through a rainbow, which was in a complete circle, something I have never done before. Also flying over Pearl Harbor was a great experience and one I'll never forget. The flight duration was approx. 50 minutes, which was ample time to fly around Oahu to see all the famous land marks. All staff including the guy who picked us up from our hotel, were all friendly. I would highly recommend this helicopter flight to anyone who would want an memorable experience. Some people would compare the thrill of flying with the doors off as the same as sky diving, I would have a agree with this. This experience was the highlight of our recent visit to Hawaii and we will fly again with Makani Kai Helicopters next time we visit Oahu.

My husband & I went on this tour. I was extremely scared but Lori reassured me the whole ride over that everything will be fine. We had the opportunity to have pilot Jim. He was amazing!He was calming & funny. He was prepared for my motion sickness & had mints on hand. Breathtaking views! Would do it again!

I highly recommend this, check it off of your bucketlists. Great experience overall! Me and my boyfriend did the Doors off ride for our 5th year anniversary with Captain Jim! He was amazing! He made us feel comfortable. The tour was breathtaking. The whole team was awesome! Special thanks to the manager PJ for hooking it up! Mahalos!
