This was my first time in a helicopter and the whole experience was absolutely amazing! Everyone at Makani Kai Helicopter is such a pleasure to talk to. They are very friendly , helpful, and enjoy doing what they do. The views from the tour are gorgeous! Pilot Jim made the experience even better. He had us smiling and laughing the whole time! I would definitely recommend Makani Kai Helicopters to anyone going to Hawaii!

Bloody Unreal. Visited Pearl Harbour day before then to follow flight of attack was quite moving. Evan was very informative particularly on his knowledge of new cattle breeds, quite "unbelievable". Scenery literally takes your breath away. Highly Recommend.

The helicopter flight without doors is exhilarating ...great 50 minute overview covering of all of Oahu. Pilot added plenty of commentary and fun. All the staff at Makani Kai Helicopters were very friendly and professional. Highly recommended!

This is a must do experience staying in Honolulu. From the moment we were picked up in our courtesy bus to take us to the helicopter until the moment we returned to our hotel the whole experience was five star wonderful. Our pilot for the day was pilot Jim. He was very informative and hilarious at the same time. My family consisting of myself my wife and to 11 yo children. Although I was a little apprehensive of the heights at first the pilot made everyone feel very at ease. The smiles on the faces of my family upon our return made this trip worth every penny paid. I cannot recommend this company and this event enough. This is a must do when saying in Honolulu. Kids rated it better than anything else they have done!

The helicopter ride without doors was awesome!! The view was breathtaking! The weather made it a little more interesting... considering it was raining and we were flying into the black clouds. The pilot was awesome. She kept in communication constantly with who ever was talking on the radio. It's an experience you MUST DO! The people were kind and very knowledgeable.

My partner and I flew with Nathan as our pilot and two others in the back. Seating is pre arranged, so I was on the outside seat, you are well strapped in, as evidenced by the little pushes my parnter would give me, and I never felt like I was about to plummet to my death. It is a ton of fun flying over the island, seeing the change in scenery and weather is just awesome. Nathan was a great pilot and we were very thankful he returned us to earth safely. Our bus driver was also very good, and we have nothing but positive experiences from our tour that day. Spend a few extra dollars and do the doors off tour, I'm sure you wont' be disappointed and will be buzzing afterwards for ages. It truly is a unique way to see Oahu and that there is so much more to the island than just Waikiki. Thanks again Nathan and Makani Kai helicopters.

The helicopter ride with Pilot Jim was the highlight of our trip/honeymoon on Oahu. The views and narration that Jim provided was stunning and awesome. I am afraid of heights and was hesitant to go on tour....all I can say is I am so glad I did and a great experience!

We had a wonderful trip with Margot! We took the 1 hour island tour of Oahu, which was amazing. We learned so much about the island and discovered some places we wanted to check out later in our stay. I would recommend seeing the island this way if you don't have time to explore. This was a highlight of our trip.

We took the 45 minute "doors off" flight with Pilot Jim and despite extreme nerves to begin with (for one of us) what unfolded was one of the most incredibly beautiful experiences you could want on vacation. Pilot Jim ensured that he kept us comfortable by explaining everything we would experience and what he was going to do every step of the way, so no need to worry as he said what to expect before he did it (in terms of turns, bumps etc). His great humour and knowledge of the area was exceptional and also made me feel even more comfortable (given we had no doors...haha). Even though I am afraid of heights, this was an incredible experience and truly you could not see the beauty of Hawaii like this from anywhere except a helicopter. Pilot Jim made this and incredible memory and one that I recommend to anyone who wants something unique and special to remember. The photos we took are truly breathtaking so any amateur photographers, you have to do this for the photo opportunities alone, no doors meant better photos. So say G'day to Pilot Jim for us when you visit.

Great experience from beginning to end! I was very nervous because it was my husband and I's first time in a helicopter. The pilot immediately set our mind at ease. The tour was amazing. You will see the beauty of the island, the Dole Plantation groves, the wind turbines, where movies are filmed, and so much more. Don't close your eyes for even a second. You're going to love it!

This was a great tour! Definitely worth the money... Especially if you get Pilot Jim! He had us laughing the whole time! And he had a lot of cool and fun facts about the island! :-)

I'm so obsessed with this tour. Besides the views being absolutely breathtaking the experience to ride on a doorless helicopter it's amazing and exceptional. I got the privilege to seat on the corner so my friend sat between the pilot and I. We are both Petite. This was my first time as I have never seen them or knew they existed. We could have not asked for a better pilot. Jim was funny, profesional, experienced and very knowledgeable. Enjoy the pics :)

Seems I can't visit a city now without taking a helicopter tour over it, this being my fifth tour after NYC, Grand Canyon, Great Barrier Reef and San Diego, so it had a lot to live up to! Our pilot Jim was professional and amusing, playing out the pilots gag reel throughout his extensive island knowledge, it was all very effortless to the man who made some 6,000 flights! So you are in good hands. Fantastic views and a great ride. Recommended.

Fabulous 50 minutes for with the kids. I thought that it would be scary with the doors of but it was amazing (and safe!). The pilot was very friendly and knowledgeable, but also very good with the kids (11 and 13). Highly recommended: a must if you can.
