What a great way to see the Island. Just returned from our flight & I recommend if you want an experience to remember book a flight with these guys. From Pete's advice (shuttle bus driver) & Jim's knowledge & humour during flight it is something you will never forget. Can only be described as a must do when visiting Hawaii.

Wow!! Jim was a fantastic pilot!! He talked us through the entire flight with interesting information about the island. He told us when he was going to turn and if we were gonna feel a "tickle" in our bellies... His voice was very calming and encouraging throughout. This was a wonderful flight and we will always remember it!! Super exciting and worth the small amount we paid :)

This is a must do over this beautiful island! Everyone involved at Makani Kai helicopters were very friendly and professional. Loved the tour and expertise of our pilot! Thank you for a memoriable experience!

What a great experience to do while you are in Hawaii. Make sure you do the open door experience. There is nothing more exciting than flying around Honolulu in the Island Hopper from Magnum P.I. You will get to see more of the island than you can ever think of, and if you are lucky enough to get pilot Margot Taylor, well then you are more in luck. She treats her guests well and makes you feel part of the family. She will go out of her way to make you laugh and ensure that you enjoy and see things on your trip. This experience was well worth its weight in gold.

I had so much fun the pilot was great! The view from a helicopter is wonderful. I have checked another item off my bucket list, but I might have to put it back on since the ride was so much fun!! I took the doors off ride on the Magnum helicopter, so many of my friends and family are jealous :)

My 12 year old son Zach and I just had an amazing time flying around Oahu! Our pilot Jim is an expert pilot who flew the aircraft masterfully! Doors off is the only way to experience the Aloha State! Anyone thinking about visiting Oahu should definitely make their way to Makani Kai Helicopters for an unbeatable experience!

We took the Doors Off Tour and it was worth every penny. I will definitely do it again! Pilot Jim was great. Views were superb. It was the highlight of our vacation. If you are thinking about doing it ..... DO IT!

Do it. Stop thinking about it and just do it! Tim was my pilot, knew is stuff, good sense of humor! I wana go again!!! I did this on my first day, it's a great way to have a look at the places to visit early in your holiday.

Our ride with Pilot Jim was exceptionally wonderful! His skill and knowledge of the Island and it's key points was outstanding. A very exciting ride, plus he proved to us that rainbows from above are circular!! Truly Fascinating!! I recommend this flight to everyone with a sense of adventure and a love of Magnum PI and Hawaii Five-O!!!

Makani Kai Helicopters is a do not miss adventure when visiting Hawaii. The janitor (Acting Pilot) Jim was fantastic and totally enhanced the experience. If my wife and I were staying another week we would do it again.

My wife and I wanted our 9 year old to have a memorable trip to Waikiki and what better way to do that than flying on a helicopter to circle the island of Oahu. The whole experience have been nothing but 5 stars, from the time we were picked up till when we were dropped off. Our pilot Jim was very informative as he flew us around the island and Peter if your reading this I just want to say thank you for such a pleasant experience. Mahalo!!!

Highlight of the trip. My family of four talked about the doors off helicopter ride all evening. Our pilot was a great guy and made us feel totally safe. His humor had my wife, who was a little nervous, laughing from take off to landing. WELL DONE!!!!

Jeff was an awesome pilot for my open door helicopter tour. I wish I could have stayed up there longer. Dress warm. I thought I was dressed warm but was still chilly. The view was breathtaking. Highly recommend this adventure.

My family and I did the 45 min "Doors Off " tour and it was amazing!!!! First class customer service from pickup at hotel to drop off after tour. Peter(tour guide) and Jim(pilot) were top notch and very knowledgeable and friendly. 5 stars and more!!!
