I stayed one month at Oahu and flew twice with Makani Kai. My first time was the The Ali'i Sacred falls tour a one hour fllight over the island is just amazing a beautiful view and great pilot. I decided to fly the second time the off door tour and that was WOW breath taking loved every minute!! An incredible ride and the view with no doors is beautiful. Again a great pilot made my ride on the off door helicopter something I will never forget just loved it!! Thank you.

Helecopter rides are not cheap, as we all know. However, maybe you should forgo something in order to take this one! We were collected at our Hotel and returned afterwards. Maggie, our pilot, was great! She provided commentary and made sure that everyone got a view of things she was showing us. We elected to pay for the Executive Package which guaranteed us a front seat with unobstructed views. The 45 min. flight took us on a circuit of half the island of Ohau. Having been to Ohau several times, we knew where we were and to see it from the air was terrific. For those who have never flown before - you are probably in less danger in a helicopter than you are when crossing the road. Don't miss the opportunity! Makani Kai are used in the Hawaii Five O series.

Rene and I were married on the beach...on our shared birthday (5 yrs apart LOL) and spent an unforgetful vacation in Hawaii !!!!..... Flying with Brodie was the best Gift my girl could give me !! I'll never forget it !! This tour was supposed to be 30 min....Was at least 50... Brodie is an awesome Pilot and "now" a Friend ! Turns out the three of us went to the same High School in Bremerton, WA !!! Small world huh??....LOL I would recommend Makani Kai tours to everyone !! Great Time !! ALOHA !!!

Apesar de caro, o passeio de helicóptero sobre Oahu é uma atração imperdível!!! Vale a pena inclusive pagar um pouco mais caro para ficar nos assentos da frente do helicóptero (ao lado do piloto), pois nos 4 assentos traseiros a visão acaba ficando prejudicada. Pagamos mais caro para ficar nos assentos da frente e não nos arrependemos nem um pouco!!! Nossa visão era quase de 180 graus, enquanto os demais passageiros viam apenas um ou outro lado e um pouco na frente. O passeio é excelente, passa por diversos pontos da ilha, cada um mais bonito que o outro. É uma experiência única!!!

We were unable to do all the excursions that we had originally planned due to the government shutdown. So we booked a last minute tour around the island. I was VERY reluctant to do this as I'm not a real enthusiastic flyer- especially on a Helicopter! Yikes! But, I knew my husband would enjoy it, so I agreed. It was wonderful! Our pilot Maggie, was awesome! The tour was beautiful. Maggie was very informative about the island. We were in very capable hands. I felt totally safe. Loved every minute of it. Thanks Makani Kai! And thanks do much Maggie for making my helicopter debut fantastic

This was the highlight of our trip to Hawaii! There were two of us and we took the doors off tour because it looked awesome. This was a mother/daughter trip and we wanted to do something neither of us had done before. They picked us up from our hotel, and there were two other groups on the bus. You are shown a safety video for the type of flight you will be taking. Just FYI, if you take the doors off tour do not wear flip-flops. Our helicopter could hold 4 people plus the pilot and two of us wore flip-flops. They were very nice about it, but you have to take them off so you spend the flight barefoot. My mom and I were put in the front of the helicopter with my mom in the middle and I was on the side. You are literally right at the side of the helicopter so if you are scared of heights do not do this. It does get very windy and a little cool, but it was so much fun. The only negative I could say is that we couldn't understand the pilot very well. You could tell that English was not his first language, but you can see what he's talking about for the most part. When we were over the mountains to see the waterfalls there were points that it looked like he was heading right for the mountain, but would then flip around so that the people on the other side could see the sights. I think my favorite was flying over Pearl Harbor. It was closed while we were there due to the government shutdown so we were not able to visit but we did get to see it. I would absolutely recommend this company if you are thinking about taking a helicopter tour of Oahu. If you want more of and adventure, take the Doors Off tour!

This was the highlight of our holiday. We did the hours flight called sacred falls and it was amazing. Our pilot, Brody was very I formative over the while island and showed us some amazing views. Well worth the money, can't say enough how good this was. Leaves you with some amazing memories.

This was our first time to Hawaii (my husband and I). We definitely wanted to be a helicopter tour. We chose Makani Kai Helicopter Tours and very glad we did. Our pilot and tour guide Brody was fanastic! He made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about all the sites and landmarks on Ohau. All I can say is the views from above were amazing, just awesome!! This tour is a must do, we definitely would tour with them again. My husband and I went to Hawaii - his first time - I used to live on Molokai. I wanted to show him some of the best of Hawaii and my favorite places, which had to include Molokai and either the Mule Train Ride down to Kalaupapa or a fly-in for the Damien Tour around the peninsula. Due to limited time, we took the fly in through Makani Kai and I am so glad we did. They were on time, friendly, professional and safety conscious, included was transportation to and from our hotel. The flight and tour were a highlight of our trip, I would like to go back and do the doors off tour - it looked like fun! I would totally recommend Makani Kai Helicopters to anyone.

My wife and I were on vacation celebrating our 20th anniversary in Oahu and decided to take the Makani Kai Helicopter Ko Olina Circle Island Tour, best decision we made. They picked us up right on the property, no driving to Honolulu airport. The pilot Maggie was very friendly with a wealth of knowledge of the island, learned more from the flight then reading brochures. The 1 hour trip flew by as we floated around 90% of the island seeing sites you would never see from the ground. All the staff were very friendly/professional making this a must do if you visit Oahu, can’t imagine going back and not doing this again.

This 30 minute helicopter tour of southern Oahu was very good value for money! This was a very comprehensive guided tour flown by and conducted by Maggie, a very professional and knowledgeable Pilot and the scenery was spectacular! An exciting helicopter trip taking in some of the most spectacular and interesting scenery in the Pacific! This tour was also very convenient as it included hotel pick up and drop off. If you are visiting Oahu, this activity is a must considering the value for money aspect.

I'll start by saying, "I'll NEVER do that again." However, it was the most thrilling, exciting, amazing, awesomely terrifying hour I've ever experienced in my 40 (cough) years on this earth…. and I've been around a few blocks. From the courtesy of the shuttle driver to the calm/cool nature of our pilot, everyone at this company is a true professional. They were ready for us when we got there. They keep a tight schedule and I was happy about that. (Too many tours keep you standing around until they are ready for you.) We got there, checked in, and off we went. Eki, our pilot, showed great confidence and calmness that we liked to see, especially when heading toward those mountain walls. He flew us around the island over some (SCARY) peaks, and whirled around some valleys, all the while giving us view after view with knowledgable commentary. [My only complaint is that two of us couldn't hear him very well, while the third said she had no problem at all. They should have checked on that before we took off. We only heard about 15-20% of the commentary.] Eki kept us in the air for a good 45 minutes, flying us around the entire island of Oahu. It felt like a couple of hours. We had the doors-off helicopter which was fantastic although it got a little cool up there. I could have easily worn long pants and long-sleeved shirt, but didn't think of that in advance. I was able to take lots of great photos and even some shaky video. THIS WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! WE ALL LOVED IT SO MUCH. (I hope the front desk guy gave Eki the tip we left. We weren't able to give it to him personally which would have been a nice way to say thank you.) If you do nothing else on Oahu, you MUST do this. Enjoy!

I booked the Sacred Ali`i tour a week in advance and was worried about the weather the day of the flight. The Makani Kai van arrived on time and the driver was pleasant. The van was comfortable with air conditioning and televisions so we could watch the safety video on the way to the airport. There was a family of three also taking the flight. The weather was less than perfect on our short drive and, as I feared, the pilot cancelled the flight. Everyone was so disappointed, but we all agreed to try again the following day, weather permitting, and I am so glad we did. I called the next day and the flight was on! The four of us and one other couple boarded the helicopter and took off for a magnificent 1-hour flight around Oahu. Our pilot was a retired military man and I felt safe and secure. He was very informative, had a sense of humor, and made us all enjoy the flight. This was my first Oahu helicopter trip and it was so smooth despite some less than great weather conditions. 75% of Oahu cannot be seen by land, so it was an amazingly breathtaking experience. The great part of the trip was that, because of the weather, there were waterfalls everywhere! The lush valleys and the ocean waves were stunning. The pilot’s commentary helped me learn about how the island was formed, where things were, and so much more. I had just been to Pearl Harbor the previous week and seeing it from the air was amazing. Realizing that we were taking the same path the Japanese took was sobering. I appreciated the opportunity to have a different view of this piece of history. There were so many picture taking opportunities that you just can’t get on land. I wish I had brought a real camera instead of only my cell phone. I can’t say enough about the fabulous staff. Professional, polite, helpful and just awesome are just a few words to describe them. If you are looking for a unique experience you won’t want to miss this tour. It was a perfect way to see one of the most gorgeous places on earth. Tips to enjoy this tour: Helicopter rides are safe because the staff makes sure to seat everyone according to their weight so that everything will be balanced. This means you might not sit together, but it also means you are secure. Be honest! They will weigh you if in doubt.

We participated in the 50 minute doors off tour of Oahu. The experience was thrilling. We flew over South Oahu, up the east cost to the north shore and then down the middle of the island, ending in Pearl Harbor. We also had a quick stop hovering near a waterfall. Overall, the tour was great and we highly recommend but we couldn't understand the pilot. He talked quite fast and with low tones so we missed much of what he was saying... We would recommend if you don't mind missing the verbal tour with the sightseeing.
