It was our first helicopter flight and we felt all time save and we had so much fun with Beth. She gave us a lot of information about the island. Mahalo
Beth was great! Incredible experience! Good music choice too!
This is a must do on Kauai and the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter team is amazing. From the minute walking into the terminal you know you are about to have a great experience. We went early and did the 8am flight and I'm not sure I wouldn't do it the same way next time. Our pilot, Barrett was insightful and knowledgeable about the island and apparently his side work is the Rocks body double. Go ahead, Book it!!!
We took the Circle of Fire and Waterfalls tour. Check-in was a breeze and we were lucky to get front seats which allowed us to get awesome panoramic views despite the so-so weather. Our pilot Steve was friendly and knowledgeable. We saw a few whales, which according to him, was lucky since he'd seen barely any since December. However, like a few other reviewers, we expected to fly over the actual volcano park and more waterfalls than just Umauma. It's a good thing that we had extra time to visit those areas by car separately. I think the title of the tour should be revised.
Greg was an incredible and knowledgeable pilot! Had a great time exploring the beautiful island of Kauai. Highly, highly, highly recommend Greg and the Blue Hawaiian team.
This was my first helicopter ride and I enjoyed it. The weather was beautiful and clear, but the winds oh my gosh was crazy all week and during this flight, but Miguel HANDLE HIS BUSINESS YA HEAR ME!!!!!! Yes he can fly me in any storm. Awesome flight thanks Miguel.
Wonderful view of a beautiful island from the sky. Very informative, fun, and knowledgeable pilot made a memorable trip more exciting. Thank you.
Circle of Fire Tour with Sarah today, was absolutely awesome. We flew on Ecostar machine, upgraded to front seats, worth every $. Would absolutely recommend this company, very professional and an experience of a lifetime
TOUR AT 10 AM, BUT 1ST THIS MESSAGE On Friday, November 22, 2019, I took my helicopter tour on board Blue Hawaiian Helicopters(BHH), which was booked by Norwegian Cruise lines (NCL) in advance. My tour was the 10 AM tour, which lasted about 45 minutes to an hour or so. But first, they will take your weight (to ensure against overloading the helicopter) and give you a safety briefing. Among other things covered, they warn you to take your own video footage and photos, in case their commercial equipment with 3 cameras mounted on the outside of their helicopter fails for some reason. That way, you get unobstructed footage without having to film over other passengers and through the rain spotted plexiglass of the helicopter. Now on this trip they say that their commercial equipment worked fine, but... DON'T BUY FLASH DRIVE RECORD! For extra cost, They will sell you a flash drive with footage of your particular helicopter trip. Also for extra cost, they will sell you a DVD with a comprehensive set of BHH tours in general. Both together are $73.29 extra. But I recommend buying only the DVD. On the flash drive, it says that "if you have challenges", to contact them within 30 days so that they can help you deal with problems with downloading their "VLC" media player software. Well I was not able to (on two attempts) download their media player software, when I hotspot connected my iPhone to my iMac via hardwire. So I tried repeatedly to contact BHH about this problem with the toll-free number provided on the flash drive package. But I never could get a live operator, despite twice calling during Hawaiian business hours. And when I left a message they never called back. I also twice left an email(also provided with the flash drive) with them, but I never heard back from them. Therefore, shoot your own footage and don't bother buying their flash drive with a record of your particular helicopter trip! Re: the DVD, I have not tried it yet. But I have no reason to believe that would be a problem as my DVD player is reliable and no downloads are required. Nevertheless, the problem with the flash drive media player download, and subsequent total non-response on the part of BHH Tours, is why they get only three stars! GOOD STUFF 1: MUSIC, MIC, & MOORAGE! (ARTIFICIAL STUFF) Now that I got all that negativity out of the way. Everything else went fine. They played appropriate music over the headphones during the flight, starting with Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here"(?) Also, if you have a question for the pilot, simply pick up the shared microphone in front of you to ask him during the trip. On my trip, the pilot stated that Jurassic Park was released in 1992, though I corrected him mentioning that it was released in 1993(no big). And if you happen to take your trip on a Friday like I did, it will also fly over the pier where the NCL "Pride of America" cruise ship is moored. GOOD STUFF 2: CANYONS, COAST, FALLS WITH POSSIBLE RAINBOWS (NATURAL STUFF WE CAME FOR!) They take you on the tour of the area on the island of Kauai where the 1993 movie "Jurassic Park" was filmed. The area is very mountainous with a multitude of what I call "skinny waterfalls". I consider it fortunate that we did not have to make an emergency landing. But fear not, as I believe all their pilots are former army pilots who know what they're doing. Our pilot's name was "David", with whom I left a $10 tip in an envelope (in their dropbox)when we returned to the heliport station. On one of my videos (which I may upload to Yelp), it shows a double rainbow. The chopper also flies over the Napali coast, and by Waimea Falls. NOTE TO AVOID "PHOTOSHAFT" At the end of the tour, they will also take pictures of you standing next to their Blue Hawaiian Helicopter. I believe copies of these pictures are extra cost. But since I did not buy these, I cannot say how much they are. But I advise if you do buy them, get the photos themselves, don't settle for any flash drives that require any downloading in order to view them.
Beth was a fantastic pilot - knowledgeable, friendly, professional. We got grounded the first day with weather and visibility and rescheduled for the next day. They recommend booking between 10am-2pm to allow morning clouds to burn off. Amazing views that can only be captured from the air. Great way to start our vacation. Big thumbs up!
FUN its a great experience. My sister was talking for the whole time
We took the 2 hour tour starting at 7am. Our pilot, Matt, was wonderful! He was very informative and provided great tips (best hikes and place for sunset) for the remainder of our trip. The views were amazing!!! We highly recommend this tour.
Loved everything about this company! The organization, communication over safety and during our tour. Loved the video package they offer for our specific trip! It's a MUST purchase! Loren is an awesome pilot and guide! Thank you for the memories!
Stunning views. Beautiful experience with my Ohana. Our pilot was awesome too.
I have always been a little weary of going on a helicopter tour. In addition to being afraid of heights I was worried about safety. This company takes safety to the next level, in addition to weighing each passenger and assigning seats based on weight placement. They issue a life vest to each passenger via a safety belt, each helicopter is also equipped for water landings. ( which is not required) It is expensive, but so worth the experience. If you do a tour, it absolutely worth the extra money to do a WATERFALL LANDING! It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.
