Had been to Hawaii a number of times and had never taken a helicopter trip, so booked the Hidden Oahu tour. We wanted to see areas of the island that are unaccessible by car. Checked out a number of tours on-line, and Makani Kai was the longest trip for the least cost for a family of 5. They agreed to throw in the DVD as a free promotion. The pick up at our hotel was flawless. Took us to their clean and modern office. Our pilot Jeff was a fun and entertaining tour guide. He gave us just enough of a thrill poppig over the top of a ridge, that made is a little scary but really fun. He is a very experienced pilot with a wealth of knowledge about the island. Profressional staff gave us confidence in the whole experience. At the end of our Hawaiin vacation, our children ages 12, 14 and 16 rated this tour as the #1 activity they did in Hawaii!!

very entertaining ride, a lot of amazing sights and the pilot is very good. Smooth ride. We caught a really nice view of the secret fall, definitely worth the money.

This was my first helicopter ride (and also the first time to Hawaii), and it was an absolutely excellent experience! The ride was very smooth, and the pilot did a great job explaining the highlights along the way. After exploring Oahu on land and by sea, the helicopter ride provided me a different view of the island. From the air, one can see the big picture of blue water, waves, mountains, buildings, etc. I find it a very unique experience to extract myself from the usual conditions on ground and see everything on a grand scheme. In fact, some areas on the mountains are not accessible by road, and can only be seen at high elevation. I purchased the DVD, and it was sent to me by mail very quickly. Strongly recommended!

Makani Kai Helicopter's 1-hour tour of Oahu, Honolulu, Waikii, Hawaii; exciting, smooth, the bluest of blue sky and a magnificant coastline North, East, South, and West on the Island. The mountain region was lush with hidden waterfalls. Sugarcane & Pineapple Plantations, resorts, golf courses, college campus, National Cemetery - Punchbowl - Our helicopter tour captured this unique topography with our pilot's narrative during the entire hour's tour. Viewed Diamond head and distinctive lighthouse in addition to a Fly-over at Pearl Harbor memorable and the view of tall buildings in Honolulu seemed almost a different world. Then over the plush hotels along Waikii Beach with manicured properties and picture perfect surf and surfers. After a smooth landing we were back to reality armed with a DVD of our experience and a complimentary copy of Makani Kai Helicopters photo expose. We ended our Hawaiin vacation on a High Note!!

45 min "doors off" flight around the island was awesome. Took in all the sights coupled with a terrific experience. From pick up to drop off the staff were friendly and helpful, the equipment and facilities were immaculate and schedule was like clock work. Highly recommended.

We took the full island tour and had an absolute blast! Our pilot, Brody, did a fantastic job making everyone feel comfortable. He really seemed to keep the tour fresh, almost like having a good buddy fly you around the island, pointing everything out and giving tips on fun things to do. He got as close as possible to many of the attractions, and was vigilant at making sure all 6 of us could see everything we wanted to see. We paid a little extra to sit in the front, which was awesome well worth it; but Brody made sure that all passengers had great views and an enjoyable experience. Thanks, Makani Kai!

We rode with Jeff on our 45 minute tour. He did a great job narrating the flight and showing us all the beautiful sights of Oahu. It was the most exciting thing my husband and I have ever done. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the island.

I treated my mother-in-law (a helicopter lover) to this excursion. Though I discovered that a helicopter ride is not an adventure that I'll be repeating, that certainly does not reflect on the quality of service by Makani Kai. The pilot and other staff were very accommodating. We saw lots of great sites and thought this was an exciting way to get an overview of the island before exploring more on the ground. Unfortunately, some of us are just not built for comfortably enduring the motion of flight!

Much better than a land tour, we had both. Pilot narrated and we saw things we could not see by land. They provided transportation and we did nothing. We are in our 60's. This was much better than our other two tours. It was so good I told the owner I was going to put it on tripadvisor.

Highly recommend the helicopter tour of Hawaii with Makani Kai Helicopters. They picked my family up from our accommodation and dropped us back after the flight. We had Brodie as our pilot and his knowledge of the island was great. Views were amazing, staff was great. I would highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting Hawaii. Cheers, Greg

We took the 60 minute Sacred Falls tour and Brody was our pilot and tour guide. It was our first time on a chopper and I was afraid of them. I thought I may need a barf bag and valium, along with CPR. Only reason I agreed to it was because it was my son's Make-A-Wish trip. Turned out to be one of the highlights of my entire life! We both loved every moment of this flight, the beauty of Oahu, the mountains, beaches, rainforests, islands, vast blue Pacific. Dave sat in front with pilot, I was directly behind him. There was another couple on our flight, they sat behind the pilot. We had no problems seeing anything. Surely the best seats are in front, but we still had no trouble seeing. Next day, we took our car out all day to explore those cool things we had seen from above. We would definitely recommend this trip. Oh yeah, we both survived, without even getting sick or anxious! No need for worry.

Had a great flight with Brody. My husband hates flying but had to admit, after it was all said and done, that he had a great time.

Brody zeigte uns zuerst den Strand von Waikiki und dann fllogen wir über den Krater vom Diamond Head. Die Strände auf der Nordseite waren atemberaubend. Weiter ging es über das Valley. Brody überzeugte mit detaillierten Informationen über die Hollywood Filme, die dort gedreht wurden und ebenso der Gechichte von Hawaii. Zum Schluss sahen wir Pearl Harbour. Insgesamt eine fantastische, sehr informative Tour, die das Geld auf alle Fälle wert war!

My first and hopefully not my last helicopter tour was pretty darn terrific. It was a well balanced tour of all the wonderful places this spectacular island has to offer. Our tour guide/pilot/owner, Richard Shuman, is a great story teller as well as knowledgable. The highlight of or vacation!!
